Sigh: Dan Rather, Hillary Clinton,

One of the more cringe-inducing elements of opposition to Judge Amy Coney Barrett has been ostensibly smart and accomplished people embarrassing themselves with very stupid efforts to discredit originalism, her guiding judicial philosophy. A few typical entries, via twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and disgraced former news anchor Dan Rather. Clinton surely knows better. Rather? (Snip for tweets) Judge Barrett specifically said that a law has "the meaning that it had at the time people ratified it. That meaning doesn't change over time and it's not up to me to update it or infuse my policy views into it."

These people aren't ignorant, well maybe Dan is, but are liars seeking a Leftist agenda and will use any tactic necessary to advance it, including contradicting themselves. The hypocrisy lives loudly in these people. As to originalism, Barrett, as with everything she said, was extremely clear and correct. The Leftist bullies cannot live with her definition because it prevents them from advancing their agenda. Note that for the Left to advance their agenda, they have to CORRUPT the purpose of the courts, to evaluate the clear intent of existent law and to apply it to the cases before them. Their job is NOT to solve the problems of a case. Solving problems is a debate for the legislature. Barrett and other Conservatives want to preserve and protect the intended role of the courts, not the corrupted courts of the Left. Happily, Barrett is easily able to outperform all the losers on the Left.

#1 is spot on. It's worse than ignorance or stupidity. People like Hillary or Rather know perfectly well what Judge Barrett meant and what the reality. The blind are not evil. Those pretending to be blind are!

dan Rather was a local reporter in Dallas when JFK was assassinated. CBS hired him, based on his reporting o0f the assassination. And he majored in Journalism at Sam Houston State University. Why would we expect him to understand constitutional issues? He dropped out of law school early on.

The Constitution at heart was a contract among the states and the new federal government. Do these doofuses (doofi?) believe that contracts can be "reinterpreted" in light of changing times? Lose your job? You don't have to pay as much for that new car. Decide that you don't like the color you chose for your house? Don't pay the painter. Et cetera, et cetera.

Senate lawmakers will begin consideration of Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett after they revote a narrow coronavirus aid package and send a subpoena to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell signaled last week the Senate will begin consideration of Barrett’s nomination on Oct. 23, one day after her expected approval from the Senate Judiciary Committee. Barrett’s confirmation hearing this week appeared to reinforce the already significant enthusiasm for her nomination from Senate Republicans, who are expected to vote nearly unanimously to confirm her by the end of October.

At the time Hunter Biden’s laptop reportedly sat unclaimed at a Delaware repair shop, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden was living a tumultuous life, including facing a paternity lawsuit from an exotic dancer. The repair shop owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, told The New York Post a man who he cannot identify left the MacBook Pro in April 2019. He never returned, and Mr. Isaac eventually took custody. He gave a download of the contents to the FBI and President Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, who provided the data to the Post. The chain of events raises the question of how someone —

Sometimes when Joe Biden offers yarns about his childhood, I think of a Woody Allen bit from his stand-up days in which the comic tells the story of being invited to a Halloween party while visiting the Deep South in the early 1960s. Allen decides to dress-up as a ghost, and throws on a white sheet and sets off. Soon, a bunch of men also in white sheets drive up and order him to get in a car. A naïve Allen, assuming the group of people are also going to the party as ghosts, obliges. Allen, of course, ends up at a Klan rally, where he gives himself away

Chuck Todd interviewed Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer this morning and turned to the recent decision of the Michigan Supreme Court that ruled that she had violated the Michigan Constitution in her extended pandemic orders. Todd did not challenge Whitmer stating falsely that the opinion was a “partisan” decision. It was not. The “Democrat justices” agreed that Whitmer violated the Constitution. They only disagreed on the remedy. However, that untruth was quickly lost in what was a flagrantly untrue statement by Todd himself. He told NBC viewers that the justices did not cite any law to support their decision against Whitmer.

It wasn’t till 7:45 p.m. Friday, at the Detroit airport that the former vice president briefly stopped for questions and CBS reporter Bo Erickson asked about the damning e-mails found on Hunter’s laptop, which was abandoned last April at a Mac repair shop. “I have no response,” snapped Joe. “Another smear campaign.
