As a record number of Americans vote by mail this fall, Pennsylvania will become the first and only state to disqualify ballots received without a required secrecy envelope -- referred to as "naked ballots" -- while giving voters no recourse to fix the mistake.
Election officials have warned that new enforcement of the longstanding rule, mandated last month by the state's supreme court, could result in the rejection of as many as 100,000 ballots statewide by one estimate.
"This is a state that Donald Trump won by 44,000 votes.

ABC News slamming PA for requiring ballot secrecy, but ignoring that late ballots without postmarks will be counted, that unmonitored ballot collection boxes are fine, that Philly precincts without Republican voters will not allow Republican observers, and that signatures that don't match are okay.

As someone who has taught science for over thirty years, it bothers me to see words like "gonna" and "wanna" constantly being used on the radio, television, and the internet. Now I read this article where a professor of English uses the non-word gonna. And by-the-way, isn't anyone else bothered by the grammar and spelling mistakes seen on the internet everyday? Aren't our children and many adults illiterate enough?
As I write this my spell checker underlines any mistakes I may have made; usually typos or an incorrect use of a comma. It takes but a moment to go over and correct the few I may have made. One would think the authors of these articles would do the same.

Philadelphia Democrats plan to swing the Presidential election for a Biden win by last minute stuffing of unmonitored drop boxes with ballots that have no postmark, but will have forged signatures. Pennsylvania's Democrat controlled Supreme Court has decided that ballot reviewers cannot reject ballots that have questionable signatures because "ballot reviewers are not handwriting experts." This holding is an outrageous GIFT to the Philadelphia ballot fraudsters. Republicans have been fighting HARD to reverse this holding for months without any success. The fix is in.

As a PA absentee voter I haven't received my ballot yet. I called the 3rd week of Sept and was told they would be mailed the end of Sept or early October. I tried calling my county voting commission this week. First no one answered then I tried again and was given the opportunity to leave my name and phone number to be called back the next day (yesterday). No call.

Because of the LAW we must have a secret ballot in this country. So, the Envelope has all the identifying information like who is voting and where they are from. The ballot does not have this information.
So, if you have a ballot without an envelope - there is no way to tell who cast it! It cannot be matched to the voter rolls!
ABC is a bunch of crooks and idiots for advocating this.

It's the same process that has been used for over 10 years.
You just follow the directions.

#2, I agree totally, and there are lots of examples that are a bit morr subtle, too. There is a whole swath of what I call "nouning of verbs". "Invite" is a verb now widely used instead of the noun "invitation". "Ask", a verb, is widely used instead of the noun, "question". There are many more examples of this ignorance/laziness change.
Since grammar has literally been erased from the curriculum in most schools, the language continues do devolve rapidly into a sad mess. And it seems that most folks, not being readers, have about a 2,000 to 3,000 word vocabulary, too. The "nouning" phenomenon eliminates a swath of nouns, ignorantly and lazily substituting the associated verb. This shrinks their vocabularies even further.
I didn't particularly like grammar in school, but I apparently learned at least some of it, and came to appreciate the regularity and structure it gave to our writing and speech. But, only leftist dogma is important in schools now. All else is jettisoned.

all it will take is a compliant federal District Court Judge in Pennsylvania, susan baxter paradise, for example, who was a big Hillary supporter, but appointed by DJT, to rule that the naked ballots have to be counted. and it will happen.
I predict the Federal circuit courts will be overwhelmed by appeals, just as the U.S. Supreme Court will be, with this election. and that is part of the dimocrat plan to steal the election.
I believe we may be lawyered to death in November, and could wind up with a demented man and a singularly disgusting non American woman serving with him, running our country.

#8 My big peeve is the use of the word 'And' to start a sentence when did that happen? Every article and writer does it now some are educated writers but that is the wrong use for the word 'and'.

Governor Wolf has made a total mess of Pennsylvania but this state has had political shenanigans going on for decades. We would love to give Philadelphia away to New Jersey since their politics are a much closer match. I look for delays and arguments in election results to go on for weeks.

FTA: "Andre Carrington of Philadelphia, a college English professor who said he usually votes in person but opted to vote absentee this year because of the pandemic...."
My position on this has been consistent ever since Al Gore's Voting For Dummies fiasco in 2000: If you're too stupid to fill in a ballot properly and see it submitted correctly, I don't want your vote to count.
A professor of English who can't read instructions and is too scared to vote in person would be my perfect poster child for this kind of stupidity.
