“Teacher, help. The President is being mean to me.” That’s the rough translation of Joe Biden’s frequent, desperate appeals to moderator, Chris Wallace during last night’s debate with Donald Trump. The former Vice President came in for some rough treatment by the current leader of the free world.
From the starting shot, President Trump was on the front foot, peppering Biden with a flurry of verbal blows: taunts, accusations, barbed criticisms for Biden, declarations of sublime political skill, triumph against longs odds, and exemplary selflessness for himself. Biden didn’t know what hit him. But he should have. And so should have his advisers and debate coaches. This is Trump’s style.

Woohoo! You will LIKE this article. G’wan. Read it. Read the whole thing. You’ll be so glad you did - or you are a fake Ldotter. It’s a doozy. Possibly the best overall analysis of what happened last night.

Trump instinctively understands you can't win a debate when the rules of the process have been stacked against you. This is what a disruptor does. If he follows their script he gives them the power to control his message. He allows Biden to filibuster with lies, spin, and obviously contrived camera staring when he has nothing authentic to offer. Both Wallace and Biden were completely outmatched last night by a truly great man.

I just logged on for the first time today after watching that train wreck last night. I see the spin doctors are in full dervish mode. Wallace is a never Trumper and thats been known for a long time. Biden is a communist with dementia who makes up things as he goes along. That, too has been known. Trump comes off as a mix of Rodney Dangerfield and Andrew Dice Clay. That is also well established. It was a playground brawl and nothing more.
I still plan to vote for Trump because the alternative is too horrible to contemplate, but I'm glad he isn't my neighbor or a co-worker.

I was really disappointed in the "debate". There was very little discussion of what either candidate was going to do in the next four years. This was a great disservice to the American voter. I blame Wallace for this. He was focused on "gotcha" questions rather than "issue" questions.

Just wondering what would have happened if Romney or McCain had told Obama to "shut up."

Dear TNVolunteer, There was no place for this "debate" to go last night but a brawl. Biden had no answer to what his plan would be for anything other than he said he had a plan and that he would be smarter that President Trump. The whole objective of Wallace and Biden was to attack Trump. The one positive that came out was the fact that Biden would not answer the question of stacking the Supreme Court. That was the only question last night that mattered. President Trump won big time on flushing that one out.

#4. Wallace knew that he could not ask Biden what he would do for the next four years if elected. Because Biden had already refused to answer questions about those issues since he was nominated by the Democrats. So Biden who has been stuck in the sand, could not and would not answer such questions, because he has signed on to a far leftist agenda right out of the mouths of Bernie Sanders and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, two avowed socialists whose socialist policies and proposals are so extreme and unpopular that if Biden honestly explained them he would never be elected. In contrast President Trump has been the most transparent President of the modern era. Trump answers all questions put to him almost everyday on every subject. When Trump says that he is going to do something, he always follows through, unless the political climate in DC is so adverse that it would be politically impossible. Before Trump was elected that was unheard of with the DC career "UniParty" politicians.

Thanks for posting, excellent commentary.
FTA:
"But a lot of Americans who live in interior America and get unglamorous jobs at slowly declining wages, raise their families want nothing more than to be left alone by the credentialed but unaccomplished strivers who hate them. For those people, Trump is their champion."
This guy gets it. And even those of us who got a good job, kept it, but ALSO "want nothing more than to be left along by the credentialed but unaccomplished strivers" are happy at what Trump is doing.
And that doesn't even consider the best economy in my lifetime, for ALL classes, well....except the globalists.

Bravo, OP! Great article, and a perspective I can understand and to which I can relate. I don’t need to hear what Trump’s plan is for the next 4 years because I already know. It’s more of what he’s done for the last 3-1/2 years. And, I would LOVE to have him as a neighbor. He wouldn’t let that one neighbor that drives everybody crazy get away with anything, and he would insist on beautifying the neighborhood, at his own expense. And, as long as you were a decent person, you would have nothing to fear from him as your neighbor or coworker.

I was so glad to see Trump fight and whip both Biden and Wallace. We have a fighter, which we badly need to save this country.

Step one Stomp on Joe ... and his kids ... and his hidey hole campaign.
Step two Debates two and three. Now we bring up our vision for the USA and ask Joe what his vision is.
Step three Ask Slow Joe some hard (who pays) questions about the BS he brought up in step two.

In a country where major cities are totally without law and order, Trump won with hammering 'Feelin' up' Joe on law and order. Many in those cities affected by the lawlessness have no doubt who supports law and order and who hasn't the courage to utter the words law and order. If your cities is burning and there is no law or order, one might consider that a reason to vote for a candidate.

TRUMP's diverting of Biden to his son Hunters financial transgressions:
" It was as sweet a move as I’ve ever seen. The knockout punch was coming with all the force Joe Biden could muster and Trump simply sidestepped it and counterpunched.
It was an impressive display of natural animal cunning. And it could make the difference in the election. Trump was agile, aggressive, and vigorous, taking what he wanted when he wanted it."
This from a UK point of view where political acumen is admired.

No. 12 has a point. I live in rural America where none of the demonrat lawlessness goes on. Even my hairdresser says she wants law and order. Something Biden and certainly mattress girl will not provide. She's too busy bailing criminals out to roam free to prey on more people.
