My best guess for who Donald Trump will nominate to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court is Stephanie Dawkins Davis. She is a judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. I believe President Trump will choose her to fill the election year vacancy for ten reasons:
1) Davis is African American. That shouldn’t be hugely important, but this is 2020, year of George Floyd and riots and Black Lives Matter. In fact, Davis was the first African American female judge that Trump nominated, in 2019. She was a magistrate (administrative) judge at the time.

Why is the author of this article flacking for this woman whom no one has ever heard of? Just wondering.

I am sure (a) Judge Davis is talented and deserving (b) will get her chance as more vacancies are going to come up at the Circuit Court of Appeals and the SCOTUS levels.

I'm tired and bent out of shape at 'paint a black face on it' and it will be fine. You would swear this is deepest darkest Africa.
Jeremy acts like this is some healing that's going to happen but no it won't blacks hate conservative blacks so drop it. I'm don't know but leave Davis where she now sits.

Seems she would disarm the radical left attacks. However not much on her being a strict constitutional originalist.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII). - This law makes it illegal to discriminate against someone on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex.
How does a Supreme Court justice uphold the above law when she was selected because of her sex, all other qualifications being equal? Is there an asterisk that makes such an illegal act legal? If we are all equal under the law (except Obama and Hillary criminal gangs), why is such a blatant disregard for the law allowed?

Co-pandering with Joe Biden? I don't think so.

NO. 1) She is not on Trump’s list of possibilities; 2) She went from magistrate (administrative) to District Judge only recently, selected by two Dim Senators and 3) All her political work and contributions have been to Dims. Is this author being paid to promote her? She doesn’t have a chance in hell. And, sorry to say, none of the white guys on Trump’s list have a chance in this chaotic world.

"She continued: 'I am nevertheless sensitive to the concern raised by this question and without reservation assure that I decide cases based only on the Constitution and applicable governing law. If confirmed as a district judge, I will continue to do so.' One can only hope she’ll continue to do so on the Supreme Court as well."
NOBODY should be appointed about whom we have to "hope" they will continue to decide cases based on the Constitution and applicable governing law. Especially so if all of their political capital (time and money) has been used to promote democrat socialists.

If people believe Stephanie Davis will be an "easy" confirmation because she is black, they should remember what Democrats, led by Joe Biden, did to Clarence Thomas...and they used a very willing black woman to do it. Nothing is a sure thing when it comes to Supreme Court nominations. Like everything else these days, it is all out war.

Black privilege raises it's head again.
Sorry, I want a LONG history of judicial actions, and a solid, lifelong intellectual commitment to the Constitution, and originalism on the record. She sounds like someone who, after a decade of actually seeing what she will do, could be a candidate, but now - nowhere near enough information. And frankly, that her husband is a Ford exec, given the route that modern corporate leaders have gone in general, is NOT a comforting thing.

Trump doesn't pander, and the writer should know this. The public is going for either Barrett or the very good Cuban lady right now. I hope he puts Barrett up for it, prolife will be a great change on the court.

She would be a brilliant strategic pick to extinguish the Democrat fire storm that is being planned but I agree she is too much of an unknown at this point and did not appear in the list of Trump's vetted picks. Barbara Lagoa brings Florida Hispanics with her and has the endorsement of Heritage and Federalist big wigs. Amy Barrett would be the aggressive choice if Trump really just wanted a brawl but the time is too short to fight this battle just now. Lagoa could not be impugned by the Democrats who confirmed her with 85 votes so they will have to try to gum things up with a snap impeachment charge from the House.

What a mealy mouthed, idiotic suggestion. Maybe he can suggest nominating Michael Steele for next head of the RNC while he's at it. Considering his simple-minded reasoning, he's probably unaware. Or is he just deceptive?

By all means, the President should validate tribal identity policies by ensuring that the nation will never be free of them. As far as Democrat opposition, no one is more reviled by liberals than a non-European-American who strays from the Democrat plantation. The Clarence Thomas hearings will look like a bird watching convention. Just the ticket.

I'm sick and tired of taking chances on whether someone is a Constitutional conservative or not. When they push an unknown, I see David Soutar. No thanks... Amy Coney Barrett. Younger, a known conservative and universally acknowledged (though they'll smear her) superior judge. Never select someone just to make confirmation easy, that's not what we voted for. The Democrats NEVER alter their decisions to appease, neither should we.
