If they get a fair trial, a questionable proposition at best, Minneapolis police officers charged with murdering George Floyd should be acquitted.
Let's consider new, undisputed evidence, beyond the initial bystander’s video that we’ve all seen, to understand why. (snip) the prosecution, to obtain a conviction, must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. They must prove that the officer’s knee, and not the massive fentanyl dosage, killed George Floyd.
That’s a tall order. (snip) the previous protestations of “I can’t breathe,” even before he got into the back seat of the squad car, and long before Chauvin applied the notorious “knee” technique, shows that George was already dying

A fair inquest and review will end up with all charges dropped against the police officers...

If the charges are dropped against these officers, the riots we have seen during the last several months will be just a warm up. President Trump will indeed have to use the insurrection act.

This is going to be Rodney King 2.0. All the public ever saw in that case was the police hitting King to keep him down. It didn't show the chase and when King kept getting up and rushing the police officers.

What, at this point, does it matter? To quote a famous statesperson. The cities are burned, the stores are looted, the cops are dead and hundreds of neighborhood businesses are closed forever. The democrats have their campaign talking points and primitive, violent blacks are the new sacred cows. Everybody got what they wanted and all I see are more people suffering and more that will suffer in the future. In other words, a typical democrat-inspired program.

If I were on the defense, I would find out if the CDC counted George's death a covid death, seeing as he tested positive for that.
The the CDC has done this, as they've done in so many similar cases, I would ask for an expedited dismissal of all charges. Because an authoritative government agency cites a cause of death that the police couldn't be responsible for.

I've been posting the same analysis on this forum for months. The police did not kill George Floyd. George Floyd killed George Floyd.
But the saddest part - - is seeing all the Pubbies and RINOs instantly following the leftist script. I distinctly remember Ted Cruz saying in public that "the police murdered George Floyd." Just think of that. A man who was the runner-up for the Republican nomination to be president said that the police "murdered" Floyd. Cruz is supposed to be a Constitutional expert. Doesn't he know that "murder" can only be determined by a jury after a fair trial?
Sickening - - just sickening - - watching the Pubbie pols - - for the umpteenth time - - rolling over for the demonrat narrative.

A fair trial is out of the question in Minneapolis. So where will they go? Duluth? Fergus Falls? Moorhead? No matter where the trial is held, BLM will follow. The jurors will be in grave danger. Democrats will leak their names and addresses. Their homes and businesses will be looted and burned to the ground. Their families will have to go into hiding. Their neighbors will probably have to leave, too. All because a murderous thug OD'd in an election year.

Sadly, most people don't seem to realize, Floyd was saying he couldn't breath shortly after they detained him, when he was standing upright, long before they subdued him, and the officer had his knee on his neck.
Thus, they likely thought he was just saying it, and not aware he had a large dose of fentanyl he had taken, as outlined in this article.
What this is, is sloppy reporting, and agenda driven politics.

If the police had waited ten more minutes to respond and arrive at the scene George Floyd would have died in his car. Floyd would have been just another dead overdose junkie. On the bright side Floyd has been sober for four months now.

A most unfortunate video, indeed.
We need Paddy Wagons so we can tend to these poor souls while preserving the privacy they deserve.
Where are the MIB when we need them ?
Can't we use one of those memory erasing guns ?

The author gets a lot right but is apparently ignorant of the fact that the "knee technique" was -
1) specifically tested by medical researchers and found to be the safest way to restrain a excited delirium patient without causing any restriction of the airway, and
2) the technique was specifically taught to officers to save the life of restrained ExD subjects, and is shown in a photograph in the MPD training manual as "the recovery position" to be used in these cases to save the life of the restrained person.
The very best two articles on the topic of Mr. Floyd's death BY FAR are these two linked below. If you have not read both, and clicked on all the many linked information sources, you should do so, if you would think that you would like to have an informed opinion on this matter. If you haven't read these reports, you are uninformed/misinformed by essentially all the other misinformation that has been put out on this topic.

This first one (in part) refers to and explains the University of Minnesota medical study of "positional asphyxia" of restrained subjects. One quote from the university research study is worth keeping in mind:
“When a cause of death cannot otherwise be determined, positional
asphyxia is often suggested […] Proponents of this theory often hypothesize
that subjects restrained prone, with applied downward weight force,
hobbled, or in maximal restraint (restrained on their stomach with hands
and wrists secured to the handcuffs) were unable to breathe because the
position caused chest wall and abdominal restriction that prevented
adequate expansion of the lungs. Subsequent rigorous scientific studies,
however, using sophisticated measurements have debunked the positional
or restraint asphyxia hypothesis because the prone position does not
produce respiratory compromise.”
Frankly, if a person will carefully read and absorb these two long, detailed reports, which are ACTUAL JOURNALISM, (so rare these days), I think that there is no other conclusion to be reached other than the officers acted entirely without malice, followed their training and that Mr. Floyd was already on a trajectory to a death from a drug overdose when the officers arrived. Nothing that they did increased his chance of death, and very likely nothing whatsoever could have been done by anyone to significantly change the trajectory that Mr. Floyd had launched himself onto with his massive drug ingestion.
A bit like an aircraft accident where a wing comes off at high altitude. Death does not come immediately, it may take many minutes to fall to the ground, but once the wing is off, nothing will change the outcome. Once Mr. Floyd had ingested a massive dose of fentanyl, there was probably nothing that could be done to save him.

#22, actually, it causes the lungs to fill with liquid, effectively drowning the subject "in their own juices". Floyd's lungs were about half filled with liquid when examined in the autopsy, and weighed two to three times the normal weight when examined in the autopsy.
