In the early morning hours of July 4, the driver of a white Jaguar barrelled into a group of protesters on Interstate 5, killing 24-year-old Summer Taylor and injuring 32-year-old Diaz Love. The crash shook a local community of protesters (snip) It also drew new scrutiny of the Washington State Patrol’s decision to allow protesters onto the freeway this year (snip) “We could arrest people for being on the freeway, and most likely they would be released within one hour and there would be no charges placed on them,”

Comments:

Seattle and King County prosecutors seldom charge violent protesters.

When we were plowing snow off runways we would line up four huge snowplows side by side, each a little behind the one before and discharging the same direction. In that way it could be cleared in one sweep. Same principle could apply here.

Or front loader scoops mounted on trucks like in Soylent Green. Scoop 'em up, drop them in the back of the truck and whisk them away for processing.

Summer Taylor and Diaz Love. You wonder if they knew they were cannon fodder. Kind of funny, Mayor Durken said it was going to be a summer of love. Don't think she meant it this way.

Great insight into the insanity in Seattle. Shows how the left-supporting authorities are twisting themselves into knots attempting to both let the rioters have control of their highwsys AND now being faced with lawsuits for not protecting...the rioters when they are killed or injured for their illegal actions. Unbelievable.

#10, well, yes, it's simple unless a Soros supplied "prosecutor" is in favor of all forms of leftist terrorism and will not file charges and releases them immediately. This is why Soros has spent many millions to put his hand picked thugs in suits into these prosecutor's positions. Now Soros' paid terrorists, antifa and BLM won't get detained more than an hour, no matter WHAT they do.

Getting tired of reading an article like this one. Why not build a freeway exclusively for the demonstration? Freeways are for registered vehicles only! What is it that the police and the city officials find it difficult to understand? Can't they not read? Elected officials, especially the mayor should be impeached for breaking their oath of office.

This week the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle announced its eighth arrest related to events during this summer’s protests against racism and police brutality. Defense attorneys say the Justice Department is going out of its way to try to discredit the protests. But U.S. Attorney Brian Moran said his Seattle office is focused on cases like arson or firearms violations that he says are hurting the protest message. That includes the big protest in Seattle the night of May 30. People took guns out of police vehicles and set the cars on fire, leading to three federal cases so far.

Incumbent Governor Jay Inslee refuses to debate Republican challenger Loren Culp in-person, a source with the Washington State Debate Coalition tells the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH. Instead, Inslee’s team is angling for a digital debate over Zoom, where he can participate from his home. This despite assurances that an in-person debate would practice social distancing and other coronavirus best-practices recommended by Inslee’s own administration. (snip) the insistence that both participants wear a mask during the debate isn’t just odd. It breaks with what Inslee himself practices.

Seattle rioters used a substance suspected to be quick-dry concrete to seal shut the door to the East Precinct, the Seattle Police Department has confirmed. At the same time, the rioter attempted to set fire to the building. Photos reviewed by the Jason Rantz Show show the concrete mix and tools used. Now, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is working with the Seattle Police Department on this investigation. Rioters assaulted Seattle’s East Precinct on Monday night. This marked another night of violent, criminal activism against police officers unconnected to anger over a recent police shooting in Wisconsin.

A second protester who was hit remains in serious condition in intensive care. After years of trying to mine the wealthy around here, and instead hitting themselves in the face, the Seattle City Council has finally fixed on a potent way to tax the rich. Seattle’s latest corporate tax scheme will almost certainly run into some familiar obstacles, such as a skeptical mayor and a possible legal challenge from big business. (snip) this plan instead puts a levy on high employee salaries and compensation packages. Call it a CEO tax — or more accurately, a management or boss tax. Oh and throw in the millionaire pro athletes, too. Even critics are straining to come up with strong political arguments against it.
