My approach to politics is simple. Never take it too seriously. Yeah, I write ranting political content as a source of income, but I try to couch that in sarcasm and snark as often as I can to bring a little levity to the insanity that permeates from our political environment on a daily basis. That’s why I really enjoy The Babylon Bee, and while they typically put out quality content, they absolutely won the internet with their latest piece of satire. Apparently folks in the know are aware of this cartoon dog, prior to this story. Not I, so it is funny, but probably not as funny as it is to the cool kids.

Not to worry, #1 and #2, I only learned about it recently. Apparently, it's an old internet "meme" showing a cartoon dog sitting in the middle of perdition's flames and saying, "This is fine!" It's used to indicate overly optimistic assessments of really bad situations. FWIW, I used to enjoy The Onion a great deal, but their humor has been too one-sided lately. So, now it's the Bee for me....

I often wonder how a party as stupid and incompetent as the dems has managed to stay in power? Satire like in the Bee seems to hit closer to the truth than one might think. They have gotten away with it because their media propaganda arm has managed to hornswoggle the public. Their protection has allowed the dems to slide ever further downhill to the point of absurdity.

This is not complicated. Last weekend, in the aftermath of the GOP Convention that ended with the spectacular events surrounding Pres. Trump’s acceptance speech, the Biden Campaign announced that he would be traveling on Monday to give a speech. There was a clear sentiment inside the campaign that Biden had to get out of his basement in Wilmington, Delaware, and give a campaign-style speech as a form of rebuttal to the speech given by Pres. Trump. After the events in Kenosha last week, there was only one possible topic – especially in light of the rampant media speculation

One of the most famous clues in a Sherlock Holmes mystery is what’s commonly referred to as “the dog that didn’t bark” or, as Holmes actually said, “The dog did nothing in the night-time.” Rasmussen Reports, which puts out a Daily Presidential Tracking Poll like clockwork, noticed that its competitors ceased barking (or, if you prefer, polling) after the two parties held their conventions. According to Rasmussen, which would know, this silence was unprecedented. Rasmussen published a series of tweets on Monday openly snarking at its competitors for their silence. Moreover, whoever is writing Rasmussen’s tweets was not shy about identifying a reason for the other polling outfits’ unusual reticence:

Joe Biden gave a speech in Pittsburgh on Monday. As we reported earlier, he tried to blame President Donald Trump for the riots violence despite the fact that it’s leftists behind the violence in Democratically-run cities who Trump has done everything to try to help. But there were some things beyond that that just screamed out for comment. So this apparently was Joe Biden’s audience, just media. There was no audience. Who exactly was he giving the speech to? That was bad enough. But the delivery of the speech showed the deep problems that the Democrats have with Biden.

Police are investigating an incident captured in a video that went viral on social media, showing a man getting hit in the back of the head with a brick in South Baltimore. Around 6:40 p.m. Sunday, police responded with a backup unit to the 100 block of Hamburg St. in the Sharp-Leadenhall neighborhood for report of an assault. When officers arrived, there was no victim on the scene, police said. Medics who also canvassed the scene did not locate a victim, according to an incident report. Officers later observed a “pool of blood” on a sidewalk nearby the area, according to the incident report.

Chandler Pappas told The Common Sense Converstive that he was with Aaron "Jay" Danielson -- the shooting victim identified by Patriot Prayer founder Joey Gibson -- as part the right-wing group in downtown Portland on Saturday. A massive pro-Trump caravan drove through the city as counterprotesters gathered for the 95th consecutive day to voice anger over police brutality and racial injustice. The two groups quickly clashed in tense confrontations that escalated into violence. "We have a First Amendment in the country," Pappas told the news site. "And for whatever reason, there seems to be this opposition that thinks we can't do that. They have been attacking us for years.

On Friday's The Last Word on MSNBC, fill-in host Katy Tur presided over a panel discussion which placed the blame for recent rioting on President Donald Trump, and also blamed Fox News for convincing Trump voters not see him as responsible. MSNBC contributor Yamiche Alcindor -- who is also a correspondent for PBS NewsHour -- recalled that President Trump has been trying to incorporate concerns over rioting into his campaign message, and then cited new polling suggesting that independents are turning against the Black Lives Matter movement because of the "chaos." She concluded by fretting that the "peaceful message" of BLM is being "conflated" with "out of control rioters." Here was Alcindor:
Biden to speak in Pennsylvania

Joe Biden will travel to western Pennsylvania on Monday to give remarks focused on how President Donald Trump has made America less safe, forgoing the chance to deliver that message in Wisconsin, where the president is planning a Tuesday visit. Biden faced mounting pressure to visit the battleground state amid violence after a police shooting in Kenosha. His decision to instead speak from Pennsylvania is designed to put some space between the violence and the former vice president as he continues to argue that the unrest in the city is an outgrowth of the president's rhetoric that inflames racial tensions. President Trump is going to Kenosha, Wisconsin on Tuesday. During a trip to Louisiana and Texas Saturday to survey the damage done by Hurricane Laura, he was asked by a reporter if he planned to go to Kenosha. At the time, he said he “probably” would. By Saturday evening, the White House announced the president will indeed travel to Kenosha. Trump plans to meet with local law enforcement and to survey the damage done by riots in Kenosha. Asked if the president will meet with the family of Jacob Blake, a White House spokesman said the president’s schedule wasn’t “fully ironed out yet”.

A Military Times survey released Monday found that if the election were held today, 41% of active-duty troops say they’d vote for Mr. Biden, compared to just 37% for the president. Another 13% said they intend to back a third-party candidate, while 9% said they’d skip the presidential election altogether. The Military Times surveyed 1,018 active-duty troops for the poll.

A federal appeals court ruled Monday against Michael Flynn and the Justice Department in their request to quickly shut down his criminal case. The 8-2 decision restores power to a judge to question the Justice Department's moves in the politically divisive case, when Attorney General William Barr dropped charges against President Donald Trump's former national security adviser earlier this year despite twice pleading guilty to lying under oath to lying to the FBI. Flynn had fought District Judge Emmet Sullivan's decision to ask a third-party lawyer to argue against the Justice Department's dismissal in the case, and his plans to hold a hearing, which has not yet happened.

CLAIM: Joe Biden claimed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: “I am not banning fracking.”VERDICT: MOSTLY FALSE. Biden has promised to ban fracking — repeatedly — as has his running mate. Biden said Monday — during a speech supposedly on violence: “I am not banning fracking. Let me say again: I am not banning fracking. No matter how many times Donald Trump lies about me.” The problem, for Biden, is that he explicitly promised to ban fracking during the second Democratic Party presidential primary debate on July 31, 2019, in Detroit, Michigan. CNN’s Dana Bash asked him the question directly: Bash: Thank you, Mr. Vice President. Just to clarify,

It’s a mirror image of the Michael Brown shooting (the officer was cleared) in Ferguson, Missouri, and the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd (the officer has yet to go to trial). The difference is this time, pro athletes, pampered and well-paid, joined the mob. They should be ashamed of their behavior.
