In 2016, the Vatican was pulling for Hillary Clinton. Just days before the presidential election, Pope Francis renewed his criticism of politicians who speak about erecting “walls.” This led Slate and other publications to run such headlines as “It Sure Sounds Like Pope Francis Doesn’t Think Americans Should Vote for Trump.” Several Francis-friendly prelates ran interference for Hillary Clinton. San Jose’s bishop, Patrick McGrath, wrote a letter to his flock in which he said that Donald Trump’s complaint of a rigged system “borders on the seditious.” According to the Italian press, many of Pope Francis’s aides viewed Trump’s victory as a “bitter defeat.”
How about Nasty Nancy ? You still support her ? Butt out.

Am I the only person who is getting sick and tired of this mediocrity incarnate? When posing for a state portrait with the President of the United States Donald Trump, he not only failed to manage a smile, he openly scowled. I despise this smug know-it-all, and I wish Pope Benedict had never resigned, leaving the way open for this crank. And just to make it clear to big-shots in the Universal Church, the fact that an American cardinal will almost certainly never be elected pope makes me want to tell the Church to take a hike, and wangle lavish donations elsewhere.
Francis the Disaster is a product of Liberation Theology in South America in the 1970s. He is a truly dreadful pope, and even at the risk of offending Cathoic L-Dotters, the guy is a creep and a phony. I´m not anti-Catholic, not at all, but I know a truly terrible pope when I see one.

Well, they do practice their own brand of marxism over at the Vatican; do as I say, not as I do is one of the big ones. So of course they support democrats.

No worries, since we conservative American Catholics give this Pope about the same credence as we give the media.

There is a battle between good and evil happening in our world, including in the Catholic Church. As a practicing Catholic, I say a daily prayer invoking St. Michael the Archangel to defend us in battle. I'm sure some of you other Catholics say that prayer as well.

Pope Francis is entitled to his opinion, although it is wrong. Leave him alone. And by the way, it would not help Trump electorally if the Pope supported him. So itś no skin off your nose. Worrying about it just annoys the Catholics in the coalition. Remember, the reason it took Catholics forever to join the Republican Party is that it has always been stocked to the top with anti-Catholic bigots. That was the problem. Even the Irish Catholic volunteers in the Civil War were Democrats, and the silly stuff you say today is a reminder why that was. As to substance, if you were listening you would have heard the answers already.

Unfortunately, I'm not Catholic. So I am denied the pleasure of explaining to the diocese why I'm not attending Mass and the tithing has stopped altogether.
But real Catholics have this opportunity.

At Mass today, we had cards with the Election prayer. The prayer asks for courage for citizens to choose leaders respecting the sanctity of unborn humans, sanctity of marriage, sanctity of marital relations and sanctity of the family.
True, not all parishes have this. But I wanted to belong to a parish that did.

This is why he is the first Jesuit Pope and we hope the last. They are an order of meddlers that have always been for fomenting trouble instead of prayer. They have been a cruel and vicious order from their beginning and should have been disbanded centuries ago.

My favorite prayer, #8.
Hubby and I quit attending mass a few months before CV19 shut our local Catholic Church down. The fact that the Vatican openly supports the abortion party says it all. If the cardinals have enough sense to elect a conservative once Frankie is gone, I might think about going back.

Interesting, ain't it - - that "the Vatican" - - a/k/a Pope Cheech The Commie - - always backs the pro-abortion candidate and never backs the pro-life candidate?
Non-Catholics need not apologize. I am a lifelong Catholic - - only went to Catholic schools - - grammar, high, college, and graduate - - and I too despise this hateful commie.

Doesn't surprise me. The Curia is full of high Church Officials in bed with the mafia, their secretaries and any children they can kidnap along the way. Epstein was mild compared to some of these people! 'Good' company for Biden and Clinton.

#2 Well said! Sent your comment along with a link to the article to my wife and Catholic friends, but added that Frank was also a product of "Obama/Soros." I'm surprised they let Benedict escape alive (it was so unlike them).

Frank needs to shut his yap. Somehow, some way, he is being paid by the democrats to oppose everything that Donald Trump does. By supporting Hillary he supported many things that the Catholic Church opposes. Same thing with Biden. Uncontrolled immigration, abortion, theft, climate change extortion, socialism, corruption, all of it. The Church is bleeding members faster than the NFL is losing fans.

What do you expect as this Pope is a socialist. No wonder the Catholic Church in the USA has been losing so many of their young family parishioners with children. Answer this question, how can a Pope back a pro abortion candidate for President of the USA, isn’t abortion still contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church? If such a Pope does not want to be thought of as attempting to influence the US Presidential Election he would steer clear of all the candidates and keep a neutral posture.

The Pope, proclaiming from inside the walled Vatican, proclaims that he supports pro-abortion Joe Biden. What are Catholics doing about this obscene gesture?

I AM a Catholic L-dotter. I am obliged to pray for Pope Francis not to accept every word out of his (lower case his) as if spoken by our Lord Himself. Francis is careless with his language and recognizing his audience and sadly he confuses the world with his populist, earth-hugging babbling. Context is everything but Francis seems to forget that what he says is often heard out of context and as literally the Truth. I think I will never understand why Benedict felt he had to abdicate.

And SloJoe states that we need to create a culture that doesn't worship money. That's pretty rich since money is exactly what he and the other dem elites worship.
The Lord sees into the hearts and minds of us all and that includes Frank who seems to have forgotten the One to whom he is accountable. Make no mistake; the Lord will remind him on the day Frank stands before Him. I predict an uncomfortable conversation and when it ends Frank will be herded with the rest of the goats and they will meet their god Satan in the flesh.
Happy eternity, Frank. Enjoy your new life;
you deserve the "reward" the Lord will have in store for you.

Many great replies on here. Since most of our churches are still on lockdown/minimal attendance, he had to say something to get the word out. Actually COVID and the gathering restrictions hurts Dems more since their churches typically campaign from the pulpit the most.

#11, why would a Catholic stop attending mass just because the current Pope is terrible?!?!?!? I hated Ovomit, but I sure didn't stop being an American while he was president.
Mass is not for the Pope, it is for the person to worship and praise God.
I am not Catholic, but I work very closely with a lot of Catholics in the pro-life movement. None of them like this Pope in the least. But they know it's only a matter of time and he will be gone. There have been bad popes before, but their church endured and it will again. But none of them are going to stop practicing their faith because they don't like the Pope.

Apologies for a second post. You knew something was wrong when Frances when to the Vatican and Obola beat a path to his door immediately. The Pope gave him a crucifix and he gave it to Nasty Nancy. I suspect Obola, Merkle and the Pope are on the same payroll.
