Rand Paul, BLM and DC’s
street harassment laws

Over the past week, Washington, DC has turned into a truly dystopian nightmare. Diners at several area restaurants, including the famous Martin’s Tavern in Georgetown, were accosted by a Black Lives Matter mob that bullied them into raising their fists in solidarity with the movement. Restaurant patrons who refused to comply faced further verbal abuse and harassment. The trend continued outside the White House on Thursday night. Attendees of President Trump’s acceptance speech during the Republican National Convention were thrown to the wolves as they left the event, and were chased and screamed at as they made their way back to their hotels.

I was hoping to go to DC for my birthday next year when I turn 70. I guess not. The mobs have no respect for anyone and I don't want to be attacked. It's so sad - I love history so much and they are all out to destroy it.

I see all those "protesters" getting by with sticking bullhorns in people's faces and blasting them with their noise and just can't imagine why that isn't treated as a physical assault. I have lost enough hearing over the years from sickness as a kid to working with machinery pretty much all my life. If one of those idiots blasted me with their bullhorn, they might be walking with a bullhorn up their rear if they are able to walk.

DC is now a h#llhole with this mayor. She has an agenda. Remember what Ran Paul said, most of BLM that was attacking them were outsiders. This is could be very true. Someone really messed up in the Trump camp. They should have provided federal protection for the people attending the event and escorted them to their destination. BLM is out of control. During the daytime, customers dining are being approached and attacked by young white punks. The ones at President Trump's event were bought professional thugs. Big difference. However, both are not acceptable and this out of control. I believe the democrat party owns this. I heard someone (democrat) on Fox say that if Trump gets elected, this is what we will get, continuous rioting.

The mayor is the one who provided the taxpayer funded supplies and helped paint BLM on the public road leading to the WH. THAT is why there wasn’t enough police security last night. She’s black and is far left, but the demographics of DC insure that her ilk will be running the city for years to come, just as they have for the past several decades. Anyone remember Marion Berry? DC gun laws prevent it, but it would be justifiable self defense if one of those diners, surrounded by a screaming mob, opened fire.

The BLM “peaceful protestors” were just following instructions given to them by Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters when they assaulted, accosted, and harassed known Republicans and the general public in restaurants and on the streets of DC. The common sense result of that chaos is the destruction of the tourist industry in the area of DC. That’s another reason why it is so important that everyone votes in the November election.

I find it hard to dig up sympathy for Rand and his wife. Congressional republicans have not come together as one to condemn this rioting like they should be, so I am not too sympathetic to their plight when they experience what normal average citizens are experiencing nationwide. Somebody failed to do their job, and it is time to investigate that Mayor for her part in this.

Some people sure lead pampered lives. This is a quote from a women who was surrounded, screamed and threatened by a mob of pasty white punks, including a skinny 'journalist' who lied about his harassment of people trying to eat their dinner, 'I didn't think they'd do anything to me. I'm very much with them. I've been marching with them for weeks and weeks and weeks.' Well grow the heck up woman. THIS is what your marching got you. Enjoy living as a slave to the most ignorant of us. Depending on the mercy of criminals is a really stupid idea. As Churchill said, you fool around long enough before fighting back and you won't have a chance to win only to avoid dying as a slave to evil. Depending on the day and the mood of the situation, I could see where the only reasonable response would be to wrap the handle of a fork with a napkin or grab a bottle by the neck and seek out the nearest aggressor who had anything that might resemble a weapon. If being beaten to death or killed by a brick looks like the only outcome, get ready to go all the way. If law enforcement has been shutdown, you are on your own, so plan for it.

The cancel culture has now reached into every nook and cranny of life. Eskimo Pie, the chocolate-covered ice-cream treat that has been around for a century, will be renamed after critics said the name was insensitive. What’s next? We have a partial answer. Last week, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. The Sierra Club is “celebrating” the event in an unusual way. It is dumping any association with John Muir, the “father of the national parks” who founded the Sierra Club back in 1892.

Both contracted the disease at long-term care facilities, but her mother in-law died at a hospital. New York apparently does not include cases like the mother-in-law’s in totaling up the nursing home death count. Thus, New York is under counting the number of deaths that arose at such facilities. Dean has long wanted to testify about New York state’s disastrous response to the coronavirus in nursing homes. However, she was removed from the witness list for a hearing by the legislature on this subject.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers urged President Trump to call off his trip to Kenosha this week — fearing the president’s visit to the city will “only hinder our healing.” The governor made the plea in a Sunday letter, portraying Kenosha — where Jacob Blake, 29, was shot seven times by police on Aug. 23 — as a divided community that’s already on the mend. “I, along with other community leaders who have reached out, are concerned about what your presence will mean for Kenosha and our state,” Evers wrote in his letter.

At least 175 people have been arrested during the recent civil unrest in Kenosha, Wis., with 104 having addresses listed outside of the city, according to numbers released by police on Sunday. The arrests were related to the protests that have occurred every night, and have sometimes turned into destructive rioting, following the police shooting of Jacob Blake on Aug. 23. Kenosha Police said in a media release that the arrests were from people located in 44 cities, although authorities didn't elaborate which states they came from. A total of 69 people were arrested for curfew violations.

If it were up to Joe Biden, the national shutdown implemented due to the coronavirus pandemic would never end. When he accepted the nomination for president on the final night of the Democratic National Convention, he promised that if elected, he would pass a federal mask mandate as part of his effort to defeat the virus. “It’s a patriotic duty,” he declared. Of course, Biden didn’t bother to elaborate on this proposed mandate or explain how his administration would enforce it — because he knows that such a heavy-handed restriction would be legally dubious and almost impossible to enforce.

As always, follow the money! Forgive my insensitivity, but what happened Thursday night at Citi Field was easier done than said because it was a matter of money. In this case, not much of it was at stake. And every person at or near the top of sports who publicly declares his or her support for Thursday’s Marlins-Mets race-based boycott is full of it. Whatever the issue or cause, it’s a lot easier to be righteous when there are no paying customers to send home. Timing was everything.

You can almost smell the sweat. The Democrats and their media handmaidens are starting to panic about Joe Biden’s prospects. The proof comes in their efforts to wish away the wave of crime and violence engulfing many American cities. Their argument can be boiled down to two false claims. First, it’s President Trump’s fault. Second, it’s not that big of a wave. The first is patently absurd on its face. Democratic mayors running nearly all those cities are pulling back cops and rejecting federal help. The blood is on their hands.

A federal appeals court ruled Monday against Michael Flynn and the Justice Department in their request to quickly shut down his criminal case. The 8-2 decision restores power to a judge to question the Justice Department's moves in the politically divisive case, when Attorney General William Barr dropped charges against President Donald Trump's former national security adviser earlier this year despite twice pleading guilty to lying under oath to lying to the FBI. Flynn had fought District Judge Emmet Sullivan's decision to ask a third-party lawyer to argue against the Justice Department's dismissal in the case, and his plans to hold a hearing, which has not yet happened.
