In the past months of demonstrations for Black lives, there has been a lot of hand-wringing about looting. Whether it was New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo saying that stealing purses and sneakers from high-end stores in Manhattan was "inexcusable," or St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter saying looters were "destroy[ing] our community," police officers, government officials and pundits alike have bemoaned the property damage and demanded an end to the riots. And just this week, rioters have burned buildings and looted stores in Kenosha, Wis., following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, to which Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson has said:

She is partners with a woman who wants to abolish the family. In a sane world they would both be shunned. And yes, Vicky is Ugly.

Excuse me, Vicky Osterweil, just because you think it, doesn't make it so. You have no right to harm me or my possessions.

Go ahead. Twist yourself into knots with your faulty pretzel logic. It doesn't change the fact looting is stealing. Typically preceded by breaking and entering. Another crime. So you are breaking the law. Period. No matter what "code" words you use.

Darkness is light, down is up, wrong is right, evil is good, etc. Vicky Osterweil and NPR support lawlessness. To Congress - why are taxpayer funds used to support NPR and PBS?

An apology for dystopia in America! As a white woman you'll never have to live in it but thank you anyway Vicky, for revealing the White Liberal agenda so honestly. If only the Democrat Party would be so forthright

Did you notice how NPR didn’t push back? They tacitly endorse this! Since liberals do not rely on logic, this confused mess looks like an “argument “ to them. I predict this will have some legs in the coming weeks- fully splitting the Democrat party along the law and order schism.

Total drivel! Stealing from others is not protest, it’s criminal. Author Vicky has a soft avocado for a brain. And with NPR pushing the opinion of that idiot is one reason to defund NPR or to fire the commies running it at our expense and replace them with conservatives or both.

Great. An ugly white woman telling us how blacks think. I thought we (white, not ugly) were incapable of that.

She gets so lost following "the myths and tropes of looting" through the unlit, cobwebby labyrinth of her mind, that she concludes the looters are actually right to loot, fully justified! I'd like to see her own home, or apartment, get thoroughly looted, stripped of all her prized possessions-- which you may be sure she has, just like all of us. You would not hear a peep out of her about myths and tropes, not one peep.

NPR has violated the public trust with which they claimed they served when applying for their precious broadcasting frequencies which actually belong to all of us. They and the Degenerate Media have broken their promises to serve the general good, and now openly embrace outright destruction, violence and theft in addition to the murder they have always supported in the womb. The only thing to do is to immediately revoke their broadcast licenses- the whole lot. Revoke Now!

Vandalizing or stealing property that does not belong to you is a crime whether you think you are entitled to it or not. This woman’s twisted view of the world is a sickness.

Leave it to NPR to publish "in defense of looting".
How about we return the favor and burn down the NPR buildings in every city? Would that be OK, too?

'and the distribution of property and wealth in an unequal society' Did the article say how to make an equal society? I'd love to hear how it's done. The best you can do is have the conditions for everyone to have equal 'opportunity,' which we pretty much have now. What laws would one have to add that we don't have now to make things more equal? I'd love to hear that too.

Well, for starters "Vicky" probably started life as Victor. That probably explains most of his problems. The rest can be chalked up to garden variety psychosis. The sad part is, there will be many who agree with him.
