Glenn Beck offers humble mea culpa for initial
opposition to Trump: ‘I feel truly horrible for
the things I said’

Blaze TV founder and conservative talk radio host Glenn Beck posted a stunningly honest apology to fans and to President Donald Trump for his opposition to a candidate he initially believed had no shot at the White House and was wrong for the country. “I am feeling so humbled this week. I feel truly horrible for the things I said and believed in 2016 about @realDonaldTrump. I believed the worst politically, which he proved me wrong at almost every turn. In the most dramatic cases (life/Israel/China/authoritarian),” Beck said to open a lengthy Twitter thread. “I expected @realDonaldTrump to take control federally at the first opportunity. Here we are in a massive crisis.

#1. Beck has a Mormon brain. Truth changes and whatever becomes most convenient is the new truth. There is no money in talk radio for an anti Trump conservative. That’s why he changed his tune.

I love Blaze TV and I like some of Beck's programs, but like others, I don't trust him. I remember an interview with Sarah Palin that was condescending, but the worst was his reaction to Andrew Breitbart's death. He did not seem upset by it, not quite happy....but definitely dismissive of Andrew as a key player. Can't quite put it into words, but I found it very disturbing.

Well..l..lots of people didn't think Trump would end up as conservative as he is proving to be....after all he didn't have a record as a politician...which probably helped him??? It's like in a work place sometimes a complete stranger can resolve problems people have lived with for years.

I guess I'm just an optimist. I found it quite difficult when he went "never Trump" in '16, so I'm gracious to have him back. This is a war, and we need every bit of help we can get. He'll never be the same as Rush, but dear Mr. Limbaugh won't be with us forever, paradise awaits. If the Lord tarries, we will need principled folks who are willing to search for Truth in themselves and our world. Welcome home Glenn.

Beck's show evolved over the years, and not for the better. In his early days he had the funniest bits and sketches and fake commercials in talk radio. He used humor effectively. Later, as he tried to build a media empire (this was severe overreach) he became a preachy, pious, saccharine spiritual guru. From 9 to Noon, I listen to Chris Plante on Washington's WMAL.

I listen to Beck in the mornings. He's been pro-Trump for a long time...he changed his mind early in 2017 when he saw what Trump was doing. A lot of people had doubts about Trump but you couldn't deny all the good Trump did. Beck didn't. I like the upbeat tone of his show and, yes, he does go off into the weeds sometimes. It surprises me that anyone is taken aback by this.

Well good grief, it takes a big man to admit that he was wrong and apologize. Apology accepted Glenn. The Republican Party, President Trump and this country need all the help it can get. You are a strong voice and reach many. I too watched you on television and learned much. I remember you writing SOCIAL JUSTICE on your blackboard and telling us never to forget that phrase. It was going to become a powerful movement and one would have to be met head on, over and over again. You were so right. I thank you and am more than delighted to welcome you back. Your strong voice and incredible mind have been missed. It’s war and this country and this President need you.

#11 I’m a huge Chris Plante fan too having lived for 24 years in the DC area, home of WMAL. Now that I live in SC, I listen to him on my iPad. He’s incredible funny in a similar way to Kurt Schlichter and never pulls his punches. If I am out running errands in the mornings now, I do listen to Beck because he’s the only one available on local talk radio and I’ve noticed that he’s not nearly as nuts as he was there for a while. I quit listening to him after his big rally in DC - he just got too weird. I do appreciate his apology - something very few people do these days. Welcome back, Glenn. PDT was not my first choice in 2016, but when an interviewer asked him what he would do about ISIS, he said he would bomb the shiite out of them (though he used the actual profanity) and that was when I jumped on the train. After 8 years of 0bama kissing Muslim terrorist arses and giving them $billions, it was a no-brained to support Trump. Another promise fulfilled - where is ISIS these days?

If Beck makes a statement, wait a while and he will change his mind with all the piety of someone who's had a come to Jesus moment. Then he will try to find a way to weave it into a soon to fail financial venture. I liked his Fox TV show, but soon he started doing such cringeworthy things I started being embarrassed for him. Just cant stand him anymore.

I never cared for Beck's going "on tour" like an entertainment stage act. His approach to many issues is too apocalyptic for my taste. However, Glenn Beck single handedly exposed the anti-white racist and communist Van Jones early in the Obama years, forcing him to resign from Obie's administration. Beck was the first to expose Jones for what he was and beat the drum until Jones departed. A fine accomplishment. After Hillary Clinton needlessly destroyed Libya to try and prove her bona fides as a world player, Beck was also one of the first to shine light on how missiles and other key weaponry were being shuttled out of Libya, sold into Syria and making their way to the new terrorist group which eventually became Isis. That was below nearly everyone else's radar.

The talk radio landscape would be lesser without the prescient Glenn Beck. He predicted much of what is happening today back in 2012. I, too, was disappointed with his non support for Trump but as one said above, he has been turned as Trump has kept his promises and shown his true mettle. I started listening to him again during the pandemic and look forward to his morning musings and great research. He is one talented guy and an important voice in America.

Hey, let’s not hammer someone who has apologized and understands what we are up against. Give me Beck any day over Romney, Flake, Murkowski, and the rest of the cowardly never Trumpers. If there is one thing he knows it is exactly why and who the people are behind the war that is being waged on our streets and in our cities, in the halls of government, and in the classrooms of our schools and universities. We need every informed voice we can get. What we cannot do is have a standard so high that few can meet it. Those who sincerely attempt to speak truth deserve a hearing. Beck is best when he is teaching. He should leave the preaching alone and focus on informing his audience. He has a role to play and I admit I am cautious and aware of his shortcomings, but I believe he understands the threat we face. Is her perfect? Absolutely not, but none of us are. He will not attain the following he once had and that is a good thing. Right now he is a voice speaking truth and God knows we need the truth out there. Stay grounded, Beck. You have a role to play.

However Beck feels about President Trump I guess he finally came to realize that the alternative is far worse. It has truly amazed me that so many people held President Trump responsible for the rioting ,looting, arson and violence that has continued for over two months in these Democrat controlled cities. The reason the anarchy has continued for so long, is the Democrat politicians in these cities order the police to stand down and refuse to prosecute any of the people committing these crimes. Whenever President Trump has offered to help restore order, he has been accused of want to be a dictator and worse. The Democrat politicians are quick to point out they, not President Trump, have the authority to control what happens in their cities, but they refuse to take action and prevent anybody else from taking action. The slate needs to be wiped clean of all Democrat politicians this November.

#15 You mentioned Beck's DC rally. I found that tedious because for months leading up to the rally he turned his daily radio show into a commercial for the rally. So his show featured FAR less actual content and more hype-building salesmanship. And back then Salem Radio Network didn't yet exist as a talk alternative.

We should cut Beck some slack on this. He was skeptical of Donald Trump early on. Most current Trump supporters, myself included were, before President Trump proved us wrong. "My" candidate in 2016 finished strong, but came up just short. He had been hard hit by Trump in the primary, but was man enough and American enough to put it behind him work his tail off to help the new President. We are now facing an election that will determine the future not just of America but of the current and potential future free world. Brain-dead Never Trumpers are a threat to our side, but TrumpTrain supporters who continue to condemn anyone who tries to come aboard because they were convinced by President Trump's actions in office are doing more harm than the Never Trumpers. The Democrat "big tent" is a temporary setup for their quadrennial socialist revival meeting that is folded and stored, with their free stuff worshippers ignored, until the next election. Let's make the NEW Republican tent a permanent structure that welcomes every American who wants to preserve the Republic. [PS: we should quit referring to our political system as a "democracy." It is a Constitutional Republic!]

I was discussing politics with some shooting buddies over dinner last night, and Beck came up. I was dismissive while my libertarian millenial friend was saying that Beck was a good guy to listen to, "but has his mental issues". I said that I had paid attention to Beck for a while, but that he went entirely off the rails against Trump, clearly disconnected from reality, so I had ditched Beck. He told me that it was a mistake. We agreed to disagree. I'll send him a link to the article. I still think Beck is a guy who has some good hearted motives most of the time, but has a poor grip on reality too much of the time.

Rather than commenting on Beck, I will comment on Trump... who deserves a lot of credit for winning over Beck. It says a lot that Trump is true to his word and true to the ideals of the founding fathers (as well as the father, son, and the holy ghost). It says a lot that Beck recognized this and publicly admitted it. So many of the other NeverTrumpers have dug in and become even stronger in their hate for Trump, even when it's clear Trump is even more trustworthy than most thought in 2016. Good on Beck, great for Trump.

I'm glad to hear Beck's apology and his commitment to President Trump's reelection. I am eternally grateful for his exposure of George Soros and his Open Society foundation. His chalkboard presentations on the old Fox show were absolutely brilliant. I took notes every show and filled six medium sized spiral notebooks. I still have them. Who had heard of Cloward-Priven before Glenn's lectures? He was the first to systematically map the landscape of the Swamp and Deep State. He showed the duplicity of our supposed Republican leaders and was the only one really pumping out the information detailing the betrayal of both of our political parties. He was instrumental in promoting the 9-12 D.C. rally in 2009. Then Fox got rid of him when he was getting too close to home. That was when TK and I realized Fox News wasn't on our side and we turned them off way back then. We tried watch Blaze TV when it started but were unimpressed by both quality of information and the production values. Beck has never made a secret of his fight with mental illness issues and I'm sure his firing from Fox was a trigger for many of the behaviors we witnessed. Whether his reasons for now supporting Trump are monetarily based or heartfelt, I welcome Glenn on board the Trump Train. I doubt I'll ever be a listener/watcher again, but he is another American voice for freedom. TCM aired "Casablanca" last night and so I echo Victor Laszlo, "Welcome back to the fight!" MAGA - Our American Restoration needs every fighter.

I'm with those who accept his apology and are forgiving. If he apologized to the President and his kids and if they accepted his apology then who am I to judge? I went to DC for Glenn's 8-28 rally at a time when the media was telling us that our political beliefs were in the minority. It was great to see many, many thousands of people who were on the same page as me. I also met and had conversations with people of different ethnicities who held the same beliefs I do. All in all it was a really fun day and on the bus ride home I and my bus mates discussed the Federalist papers (something that wouldn't happen on an Antifa-BLM bus trip, I'm guessing).

I parted company with Glenn Beck in 2009 when (still on FoxNews) he said that our Tea Party March on Washington D.C. had "tens of thousands." He was planning his own march, and I think he was jealous of what the official Tea Party March had been. Those of you who were there know that the 2009 Tea Party March was a glorious thing-----much more than "tens of thousands." I learned then that Beck could be small-minded and dishonest.

In 2016, I too was a Ted Cruz supporter. I was disgusted and stunned when Trump linked Cruz's dad to the Kennedy assassination. It took me a while to get on the Trump Train, but I did, fairly well before the election. So, I can understand where Beck was coming from. But, I was equally stunned and disgusted when Beck viciously turned on Ted Cruz when the senator ended up supporting Trump. I think that's when I stopped listening to Beck. That said, as others have noted here, I am happy to have Glenn back in the fold. We are in the fight of our lives, to save our beloved country and we need every able bodied citizen, talk show host, TV personality, whatever to be "down for the struggle." So, welcome back, brother Glenn. "This time I know our side will win."

"not getting aboard the Trump Train cost him personally and financially, as friends and fans abandoned him and his media ventures" SO is this apology a way to rebuild his business efforts? Beck was always edgy and quirky. It seemed to fit him at the time. When he went independant, it felt like his ego grew faster than anything else. So, thanks for the apology on behalf of the President who I am sure would be more gracious about it than I am. But it's wait and see on Beck. Anyone who would even hint at voting for Hillary is NOT to be taken seriously. Time will tell.

I used to really like to hear Glenn Beck years ago when he was only on the radio. Then he went to TV, Fox News and thought boy he's gonna do great things. Then he went off the rails . . . later to become a "never trumper". Even to the stunt of dipping his head into a bowl of cheetos, to make fun of the "Orange Man". I lost respect for Beck then, and it will be slow, long time, coming back for him in my life. It's kinda/sorta like lying to me . . . once you do that, your credibility is shot. I don't know when your lying and when your not.

I learned of Beck and liked what he had to say when he was first on Fox. Then he kind of went insane negative about Trump that seemed to be opposite to what I thought Beck believed. All the while Trump has remained exactly the same as he promised to be in 2016, all one had to do was listen to what Trump said and compare it to the facts to see Trump was telling the truth the whole time. Why Beck went insane I have no idea, at least now Beck appears to be getting well, I wish well in his recovery.

Greyhound Lines stands up to the Biden

One of the most despicable things about the Biden administration is that, even as it doubles and triples down on the COVID restrictions it wants for Americans, it’s utterly unconcerned about the diseases flooding across the border along with the illegal aliens Biden is unconstitutionally welcoming in. The president and CEO of Greyhound Lines, though, is demanding that, at the very least, its workers and other passengers get protected from the COVID so many illegal aliens bring with them. From the start of his campaign, Biden weaponized the Wuhan virus against Trump. Informed and intelligent people realized very quickly that Trump was moving with extraordinary rapidity

Biden has issued Executive Orders that ban enforcing immigration law while simultaneously inviting in a new wave of illegal immigrants. These EOs also suspend deporting illegal immigrants, even those awaiting trial for felonies and other serious crimes, and signal that all new arrivals will be eligible for social benefits such as healthcare. Cesar Chavez’s struggle in the 1970s and ‘80s can help explain the impact this will have on labor markets in general and working-class Americans in particular. Chavez understood that illegal immigration diminishes workers’ earning power.

It began with throw pillows. Pillows shouldn't matter much, but like every decision we make now, they matter more than you think. The old sofa had to go. It had lasted 25 years, by some miracle. The old sofa was U.S.-made. Only 20% of today's furniture is. It was expensive; the store owner told us we'd be able re-upholster it down the road, though that would be expensive, too. He was right on both counts. He retired. His kids run the store now. We managed to find a new sofa, also made here. A different color. So we needed throw pillows.

Republican lawmakers ridiculed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s ongoing deployment of National Guard troops and police as well as fencing and razor wire around the U.S. Capitol during speeches at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we start quartering soldiers in the committee hearing rooms,” said freshman Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, who dubbed the Capitol complex “Fort Pelosi.” “There’s plenty in the parking garages at Fort Pelosi. Maybe we can start unreasonably seizing and searching members of Congress. Oh, wait, we’re already doing that in House chambers,” Boebert added,

While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi cited precedent and prerogatives of current presidents to justify putting a majority of Democrats on a so-called “1/6” panel to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, others in her party have another reason why they don’t want to seat many Republicans. Quite simply, some Democrats say, they don’t trust the post-Trump GOP to seriously probe the incident because they believe, without evidence thus far, that some Republican members were either in on it or responsible for it. “We do not owe delusional deniers a role or a platform in a commission designed to try to ferret out extremism and violence

Ernesto Sorzano’s Chinese-takeout dinner paid off big-time when he played the set of lucky numbers in his fortune cookie on a North Carolina Powerball ticket, according to UPI. Sorzano said he used the numbers when buying a $3 power-play ticket — and they ended up matching four of the winning ones, landing him $500,000. The Florida resident — who is in the process of moving to Huntersville, NC — told the news agency he’ll use his winnings to buy a new house there. “This was a good investment,” Sorzano said of his rice and shrimp dinner, plus dessert cookie.

Speaking about the riots that erupted in cities nationwide at CPAC Friday, Cotton stood by his June 2020 piece, which caused fury among Times staffers. “I wrote an op-ed, it had a very simple message, very simple, very common sense message. Grounded in American history and law, supported by a majority of Americans, arguing very simply that if the police cannot, especially if they are not allowed to restore order, then it is time to send in the troops,”

Activist judges pushing a far-left agenda have been legislating from the bench, and a handful of Supreme Court Justices committed to upholding the Constitution is the only thing stopping the left's total transformation of the country. For that reason, Democrats have been lying in wait for the opportunity to take out the Supreme Court. Democrats are no longer hiding their disdain for the high court. Democrats openly admit to hostile court-packing plans that would stuff the Supreme Court full of activist judges who would then sign off on everything Democrats couldn't sneak past the voters.

“He who pays the piper calls the tune.” It’s a hard, fast rule in the world of politics, which is precisely why we must always be vigilant against the corrupting influence of private money in our public electoral process. There was a great deal of consternation expressed throughout 2020 about funding nationwide elections in the midst of a deadly pandemic. Fortunately, our public institutions were up to the test. Unfortunately, we also experienced the reality of large-scale private election funding for the first time — and in the process discovered the reason we had never allowed it before. Wealthy individuals and corporations, including Google and Arnold Schwarzeneggar, gave money to election officials

As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
