The third night of the convention belonged to Vice President Mike Pence. The former governor of Indiana has spent four years in the shadow of President Trump, and Wednesday evening's address was an opportunity for him to make the case for a second term directly to the viewing public. Out of all the talks this week, Pence's most closely resembled one you might have heard at a pre-coronavirus convention. He touted the administration's record from an outdoor stage at Fort McHenry, and before a live audience that was eager to applaud.

Pence is simply put an honorable, loyal, great man.

"... in the shadow"? I don't think so. President Trump has placed many responsibilities on VP Pence... and he has met them well. We finally have a great team of loyal Americans in the White House. Let's give them four more years!

Before a live audience. Biden's handlers couldn't risk that even with a teleprompter for fear he would go off track and prove his mental condition. Hence, his carefully scripted (and edited) speech.

I watched C-Span to make sure I heard it all. One could see why Pres. Trump chose him, trusts him, and likes him. I thought his speech was a great ending to a great night. I switched over to CNN to see what they thought. I got there just in time to hear J. Tapper say he was going to wait to give his opinion until the fact-checkers had done their job. I switched right back. I don't recall hearing them waiting for fact-checkers during the Democrat convention.

Pence was great, I watch on Cspan only. Immediately after they played Hail To The Chief and out come the President & First Lady and the place goes crazy. As soon as he notices them, PDT grabs Melania s hand and goes down the steps to greet the wounded heroes in the front who struggle to their feet and swarm to him. Just a mutual love fest. No stupid Fox talking heads for me, I watch the event, full screen!

Pence is a solid VP and capable were he have to step in. Question: If any President were incapacitated, who would you want to be President - Pence or Harris?

#6- Mike Pence will be called on to step in on Jan 20th ,2025. I've always been a huge fan of this man and if there was ever a person who looks and acts like a president, it's him.

I sat transfixed from the time the 8 to 10:30 portion started. I stayed linked in until the lawn chairs were being folded. The President and Vice President and their wives walked through the crowd. I couldn't quit watching. Loved Trace Adkins lovely bass voice singing the anthem a ccapella.

Trump/Don Jr. is the best bet for '24. One reason the Swamp was defeated after repeated legal and illegal attempts is PDT's staying power. Otherwise the combination of the Deep State, the Democrat Party and the Media would have made mince meat of any other Republican. That connection to the trump organization will have to be maintained for a President Pence. While they were busy trying to remove trump, the Swamp was not too concerned about Pence succeeding him. Why? Because without trump they were confident they could neutralize or get rid of him in short order.

Pence did great. He's got a good chance to run for President in 2024. I think highly of his family. Most impressed with his wife, a working mother (a teacher!) and his children who have developed into ambitious professionals. I don't think Pence has been in the shadows. He's out there, but, the msm doesn't want you to know.

CSPAN only. No talking media heads. Just straight-up Convention. It's been a fantastic 3 nights. Tonight should be epic.

It was a great speech, in a great venue.
What a total contrast to the low grade idiot anti-American overpaid game players who kneel as a sign of disrespect of the flag during the national anthem.

Pence will need to make significant inroads into general public awareness over the next four years in order to rewrite the picture of him which the press has painted. That is not an insurmountable challenge, but Pence has so far shown little sign that he has the skills necessary to do so. However, that may be because, as the Vice President in a first term, his primary job was to not cause any distractions. President Trump needed to make himself the center of attention during his first term in order to accomplish much of what he sought to accomplish. If he wishes to make a lasting change, he will need to place potential successors at center stage with greater frequency during his second term. I am curious to see if he can do so (I believe that he will try to do so).

Concur with #13. After 8 years of Trump there will be a major paradigm shift. As of this morning, I submit that Pence does not have the pizzazz to step in and keep the momentum going.

Watching him give his speech last night thought he was very presidential material. He sure has the hair for it. BTW..turned to C-Span as soon as Carlson's show was over. Fox sure messed up the coverage this week. Don't know who advised them on how to show the convention but they should be fired.

Re watching on c-span: for those without cable, you can get similar unfiltered broadcasts online from right side broadcasting. They also show Trump rallies, etc. No commentary.
