Two conventions, one angry and miserable,
the other optimistic and grateful

The difference in tone between the Democrat and Republican conventions could not be more distinct. The four days of the Democrat infomercial were characterized by misery and anger. Not one of the Democrat speakers even smiled. They made it clear, each and every one of them, that they hate this country.
Consider Michelle Obama’s scowling face; every person who spoke exuded rage, fury that President Trump had survived the four years of their demented attempts to destroy his presidency. Even before the election, higher-ups at the FBI, the DOJ and the CIA had hatched a scheme to prevent his victory.

Last night was an inspiring night. Maximo Alvarez was the highlight for me. His story, told sincerely from the heart brought tears to my eyes because I know the kind of country Mr. Alvarez described is exactly the one the Founders intended. Every speaker was inspiring in their own way and they were not overshadowed by the professional politicians that spoke. It was a night to be proud of, a night, in the darkness of today’s chaos that proves we are not alone in our love, respect and gratitude for this country. Bravo Team Trump! It was the best opening night that I have ever seen. How in the world are you going to top this?

The Convention was awesome last night! Too Bad people who tuned in to FOX didn't get the chance to see the WHOLE thing! From the first speaker to the last FOX thought it a good idea to have their Talking Heads sitting in a split screen, telling us what the Speaker was saying while the Speaker was muted! I can't tell you how upset I was when they did that! I immediately switched to C-Span, but there were probably other folks out there who did not do that, so they missed half of what was going on! What in the world was FOX thinking? This was a Beautiful production, we did not need someone telling us what the Speakers were saying when we could have heard ourselves if they had shut up!

I watched it on YouTube. The YouTube app on my phone has a little icon that sends the video I am watching to my TV. No interruptions, no talking heads. I didn't watch any of the Democrat convention so I really have nothing to compare it to. But I thought it was very inspiring and optimistic. I liked the way the speakers got right to the point and followed immediately, one after the other. The highlights for me were Herschel Walker, Tim Scott and the father of the girl shot at the Florida school--Andrew (?) Pollack.

Checking all of the local outlets for the "mainstream" media, I see only one article about the RNC, and it appears to have been written by the same person. All three talk about the Republicans "distorting " Biden's agenda. All mostly negative about President Trump.
I'm shocked. /so

Wow. Day 1. Not bad, pubbies! I didn't see the dim convention last week. But, sounds to me like the the speakers were overwhelmed with hate and rage. They brought their TDS with them and it showed on their worthless mugs. Hard to believe that a political party that markets itself as the party of hate, anger, chaos, violence, rioting, and while fully supporting a non-economy within a pandemic nightmare, could get any votes at all let alone run the country. And having two old farts like Schoomer (yes, Chuckie, you are a bit older than me, pal) and Pelousy act as the face of the party puts the final nail in the coffin for the dims. It's almost as if they themselves know the Big Ugly is coming.

The dems motto is "The beatings will continue until morale improves.". Most Americans recognize this as a counter productive paradigm but the common one for dems/Socialists/Communists. Examples are, verbal abuse (the rabid Leftists screaming at us, the propaganda media telling us we are all racists), physical abuse (the riots), incarcerations (of those opposing Socialist rules), death (millions killed under fascist/socialist/communist rule). NONE of these things make US feel better, i.e improve morale. Instead, they intimidate others into "behaving" and THAT is their true purpose.
Republicans expressed love, gratitude and appreciation, humbleness, understanding of the greatness of America, and determination and excitement for the future. THIS is the winning formula. THIS reinforces our Declaration as a nation that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that THEY ARE ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR with certain UNALIENABLE Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.". These rights cannot be provided by the dems or any government. They are inherently ours and we are free to express them. LIFE. LIBERTY. THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEEK HAPPINESS.

All comments are great here. I feel the same as everyone about the RNC the 'adults in the room' and the President to preserve our nation's greatness.
I had to watch on c-span because 'bleach bit' Hannnity can't shut up. His jaws must hurt when he goes to sleep at night that guy has a motor mouth.
I enjoyed Scott's speech and of course all of the other speakers.
I didn't watch but snippets of the democrats and that's one angry mob Joe Biden has there.

I thank the dims for drawing the line more clearly every day. I had no idea of the magnitude of the unrest, but nothing justifies the current blm behavior -- they're criminals and should be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. I work in a psych ward for teens, and I see this behavior almost constantly. It's immature, irrational and totally impulse-based, and they continue to breed.

Oh for cryin' out loud. The GOP, for the first two years HELPED the Marxists try to get rid of Trump. Now, Republicans believe their Republican representatives and senators are going to do ANYTHING to return to the Constitution and do anything to support Trump's policies if the win a majority? The message was inspiring but the ACTIONS and the history of the GOP ACTIONS have been anything but inspiring. I have to vote for the GOP reps and senators just like I had to vote for McQueeg and Mitt, because both were less Marxist than The Holy Hawaiian. Inspirational, no doubt about it and I'll gladly vote for Trump but the cowardous Republicans who are now so very "brave" for jumping on Trump's coat tails, not so much. Let's go for actions and NOT just inspiration, please. Want proof from science? A twenty micron at best cloth mask CANNOT stop a ONE micron sized virus but even Republican governors believe it and require it. Common sense, courage, TRUTH, FACTS are gone because the GOP is a pack of cowards and there's more proof where that comes from. Sorry, but my turnip truck wounds healed in 1995 and to some reality looks "curmudgeony." I'll be truly inspired when Republican leaders for ONCE do not fall down, roll over and soil themselves when Nancy and Chuck whispers boo in their ears.

I also watched gavel-to-gavel (as we used to call it) by way of YouTube on my PC. Midway through it, I realized I could make my screen huge. I did manage to keep the tissues nearby. Never will I become complacent about having been born here. Those who have come here, to be One-of-Us are to be honored and welcomed.

It's pretty basic. The left is longing for their socialist utopia which will never come. They do everything in their power to insure that no one, ever, anywhere, gets their feelings hurt. That will never happen. Most important they labor to give meaning to their own misfit lives by joining something larger than themselves and secretly hoping to gain power from it. That is a heavy lift, but they are buoyed by seeing nonentities like AOC accomplishing it. Their whole program is wrong and doomed to failure. That's what makes them so mean. And so angry. And so power-hungry. They have the overweening desire to control others, while we--the republican others--just want to be left alone to live our lives.
The republicans are guided by principles, not fantasies and feelings, and those principles--from our Judeo-Christian heritage and cultural inheritance in the founding fathers' wisdom--have been proven to work. America is the guiding star for the rest of the world, in large measure because of its bedrock principles of belief in God and in the dignity of labor. Republicans are 'optimistic' because they have the evidence to prove that their principles are good ones. That's why we prefer morning in America to the pipe dreams of Karl Marx and the suffering and destruction which they have caused.

#11 - My favorite curmudgeon. Dear friend, your description of the Uniparty's GOP wing is absolutely accurate. There's no doubt about it that the GOPe have not changed, but I believe they have been neutered. President Trump is remaking the Republican Party before our eyes and the old DC Uniparty denizens are powerless to stop MAGA. I believe they have all overplayed their hands. The Donald has had four years of everything The Swamp could throw at him and he still stands. He now has experiential knowledge of the workings of the Swamp. We may want more MAGA candidates like Kim from Baltimore, but I believe we have enough and they will win their elections. The enthusiasm is on America's side and any old-time GOP pols will change their tune of the national anthem just to stay relevant. Give my regards to Mrs. G2P.
MAGA:KAG - Trump will not have only coattails for others to ride to victory...he has a whole flippin train!

I have a sinking feeling that the Democrats are intentionally planning a loss, perhaps so the "peaceful protests" can be ramped up. Michelle Obama alluded to things getting worse if Trump was re-elected. I hope I'm wrong. Even the numbest of lock-step Democrats can't be impressed at any aspect of the current ticket.

I'm really glad I watched, and switching to CSPAN to get rid of the darned Fox folks talking over the wonderful speakers was the best move I made all evening.
I like most of the Fox folks but they were seriously distracting and ruining WONDERFUL speaker after wonderful speaker.
An outstanding evening.

We have developed antidotes to Chris Wallace, Donna Brazile, Juan Williams, Bret Baier, Martha McCallum and Neil Cavuto. C-Span is channel 33 in Spectrum, OANN we purchased for $58 for one year through KlowdTV with great ease, Conservative Treehouse posts several YouTube options and we bought a length of cable that connects our iPad to the TV with very high resolution.
The mainstream media no longer controls US, and this will be reflected in the November 3rd landslide.

Headline WSJ today was about Trump not liking mail-in ballots. Meaning of course he doesn't like an election run by mail and not he's against absentee ballots when considered necessary. NO COMMENT in the headlines about the tone and breadth of the first session.
There you have it.
