The Bureau of Land Management on Thursday took a step toward development of the Willow oil prospect in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, a large ConocoPhillips effort that could help revive Alaska’s sagging economic fortunes, though critics say it endangers polar bears and the climate.
The agency, releasing the final environmental review of the project, said the development could produce more than 160,000 barrels of oil daily over 30 years, helping offset dwindling oil production and state revenues in Alaska. Construction would produce more than 1,000 jobs, and lead to more than 400 jobs when it begins operating.

160,000 barrels per day @ $50.00/barrel equals approximately 8 million per day in revenue, 3 billion per year. Drill Baby Drill

That should get a few extra votes from Alaska. Voters there might have been leaning Left, but when it means more jobs for the people in their State, I would bet they will think twice before voting for Biden!

In a way all of the nonsense may be making it easier for Trump to get things done. While the democrats are seeking the next nugget on how the Russians got the Biden Ukraine shakedown recording in the public sphere, Trump is off attaining peace in the Meddle East and furthering our energy independence.

This calls for affirmative action.
15% of all employees on this project must be polar bears.

There is absolutely no good reason why this had not been done sooner. This should have been exploited in the 90s. Off-shore deposits near Brazil (massive bigger than the middle east put together) should have been exploited since 2000.

Drill, baby, drill... There's already surplus oil on the world market, with producers holding back production. There could be a global oil flood tomorrow if the market demanded...it doesn't. No prospects of "pent up demand" to create new markets, either. Plenty of untapped holes in the lower 48. Go ahead, drill...

#5 great comment! Smokey the Bear doesn't want to be the only working bear.
Have you noticed that PDT doesn't announce initiatives until the moment they are about to happen?
Implementation happens before the libs have enough time to undermine.

This is good news for Alaska.
If you have not seen the TV show The Last Alaskans, it's about the 7 families who still hold permits to live in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The land mass is roughly the size of South Carolina.
The area they'd drill in would hardly be noticeable in the vast land area
