In reading George Will’s recent column (“The Difference between Trumpism and fascism”), I was struck by a few things: his elitist anti-Trump tone, his denigration of the President’s supporters and his lack of understanding of Donald Trump’s appeal. The thing which struck me most, however, was not a failure to know the past, but his inability to apply the lessons of history to the present. He recites the basics of the history of fascism while completely missing how that history applies to the current situation.

George Will only approves of George Will. And he hates anyone who ignores him. Which is what Trump does. Everyday. As I do too.
Sorry George!

George Will and Krautheimer used to be very close friends, but I noticed a diminishing in K's last years. Krautheimer was no pro Trumper: he was just a fair, reasonable man and when Will started to go off the rails, the friendship seemed to cease....nobody has mentioned this in the Press or otherwise---it's just something I noticed.

George Will has become irrelevant. That's the problem. No one cares what he says or thinks.

Hasn't it gotten through Will's thick skull that absolutely no one with even a modicum of common sense listens to his opinion anymore?

This should be at the top of the page. George Will has always been, and will always be, an ass. He is without a doubt a narcissist who believes in all things George Will. Remember, the DAVOS group, the CFR, and other high-brow organizations and think tanks are filled with like-minded men and women, ready to sacrifice freedom for the promise of comforts offered by the likes of Joe, Bernie, the Squad, and corporatists (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, etc.). George is a tick on the butt of freedom loving society.

Atheism. Will is the center of the universe and doesn't believe in anything beyond himself. Did not know he is an atheist until Trump was elected and George outed himself.

George "Wont" ____________________________??; there are, at least, several thousand words in the English language that would accurately finish that statement!! Some of them might make a good bumper sticker for the coming election.

George Will and Joe Buck. Although they don't comprehend it, life does go on without their condescension. There are far better, newer and smarter commentators. There are some really skilled individuals who are worth reading and listening. For the last 4 years I listen to music while I watch the World Series and voila, no Joe Buck and the world is a happier place. George Will? He gets lost at the end of his leash, and the leash the left has on him is very tight.

Reading Will's piece: "Trump, however, is a faux nationalist who disdains his nation’s golden age of international leadership and institution-building after 1945."
These days, centered on fighting Soviet Communism, are long gone, George. The world has reverted to "normal", as one can see in Xi, Putin, or any major national leader. While elements of the US revel in the USA as "Leader of the Free World" the truth is there is no "Free World" to lead. It turns to tragic and expensive farce when the US fails itself, occupying Iraq and policing Afghanistan for decades after we were going to put a boot up their arses. It all ended decades ago, while the USA leads without followers. It's not Trump; it's the natural course of things. Trump recognizes this. The forces are aligned to resist retrenchment...too profitable as things stand.

George Will should know arrogance and condescension are not a pretty picture - and not a good way to live. I stopped paying attention to him and his pontifications a long time ago. He's totally irrelevant.

George Will is a complete and utter prig. Prig means "a self-righteously moralistic person who behaves as if superior to others." That pretty much sums up the lousy SOB.

Nothing George Will has written since 2016 falls outside this description. I have found it quite refreshing never to read a George Will article again. Don't support him by clicking on links to his articles (especially at places like the Washington Post). Ignore him. Pretend he doesn't even exist. That's how you deal with the George Will's - nevertrumpers - trying to influence America.

George Will has been a stubborn, pigheaded, numpty brained fool for a very long time. I suspect he only pretended to be conservative so he could get the job at Fox News Sunday. Will needs to stick to what he knows, covering MLB and not much else. #'s 2-3 have it pretty much nailed.

President Trump has rocked the elitist boat. Will, and the other never-Trump crowd all consider themselves elites. They were comfortable with whoever was President, or in control of Congress, as long as their boat was steady.
Also, wasn't there a report about a connection between Will and Epstein?

Somehow, some way, George Will, the sniffy little arrogant jerk that he has always been, went totally off of the rails when Trump was nominated, and stark raving mad after Trump was elected.
I actively avoid all things associated with Mr. Will. He's nuts, and not in a fun way.

I read Will when we were starving for conservative writers. But I knew he was a DH when I read this by Jonah Goldberg:
"Then, as the conversation moved to New York City, (I) mentioned that (I) had walked in Central Park at night from time to time with friends. Mr. Will responded, “well, that makes you an idiot” and walked away."
When a famous person does that to a relative nobody, that is revealing.
Full disclosure: I cannot stand Jonah and would never read him. He is in fact a putz.

Quit even looking at anything by little georgiemany years ago when I figured out that he was an unmitigated and so-called elite Ass with no redeeming graces. Like most inside the beltway r.i.n.o.s, he feels he has a right to lecture Americans on how to live their lives out as 1930s' Germans in hitler's rein.

Looking at the Wikipedia page on Will, I found this gem....
"Will originally had left wing political views, but his views shifted toward conservatism during his studies at Oxford, especially after visiting Communist-controlled East Berlin in the mid-1960s.[6] Will served as an editor for National Review from 1972 to 1978."
Note the "toward"......
Like Krauthammer - a leftist who "converted" - but not entirely. Krauthammer was good on many topics, but his leftism often shone through in an irritating way. Before he got sick at the end, I was pretty close to done paying attention to Krauthammer. And Trump was just barely on the scene, and getting disapproval from Mr. K, as with Georgie Porgie. So, beware leftists who "convert" - many still are leftists deep down in their hearts, just looking for some way to make it 'work better'.
The much esteemed Thomas Sowell is a sterling example of a leftist who converted and REALLY MEANS IT. Sowell is a long time hero of mine, along with the esteemed Walter Williams. I have to laugh when I am called a racist.....when two black men are some of my more favored thinkers in the world. I remember clearly in about 1977 my father in law showing me a commentary in the Jacksonville Times-Union written by some black guy I had never heard of. It was so amazingly good, I noted his name - Thomas Sowell. I have been a fan ever since.

George Will and his like minded friends cannot tolerate the fact that Donald J. Trump is not a silver tongued politician who came up through the ranks seeking their blessing. Yet, here he is accomplishing great things and has run rings around the vaunted political class. He has made them look pathetic, weak, and inconsequential. He does not speak in the hallowed tones they cling to and he will not back down when he is attacked by men and women of lesser character than he. George believes Trump is arrogant, raw, uncouth and unfit to sit at the Resolute Desk. Yeah, George, we know. He is not focused on what you guys believe is important, but he is focused on the issues the American people want addressed and is doing a bang up job of producing for the American people and this country. His work ethic alone should shame every public servant and arrogant media hack. He may be a throw back to American men of long ago but he is teaching a master class on how to get things done. One thing is certain, if you are offended by any aspect of the man, then he is definitely on the right track.
