Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell argued on Monday that Democratic leaders view the coronavirus pandemic as a political "opportunity" to "bail out" states such as New Jersey, adding that Republicans are willing to support another coronavirus stimulus plan that includes funding for other areas.
McConnell said the Senate GOP's coronavirus relief package "focused on kids, jobs, healthcare, and legal protections to help our country reopen," as well as another round of direct stimulus payments.

Trump plays the Democrats again! He stepped in to save the unemployed, he stopped Evictions, He also waived Student Debt and cut out Payroll Taxes. Now, the Democrats want to stop any money going out until Republicans agree to bail out the cities, IL, CA, NJ and more), who have for years allowed the Unions to demand more and more money from the States. Now they are in debt to those unions by Billions of dollars. A Bailout to those states is not popular in the other States. So! Now the Democrats are going to send thousands of their own voters to the Republican Side because they don't want their tax dollars going to states other than their own. What to do!! Bet Biden't people have hair on fire from this dance act Schumer and Pelosi have going on!

I read the Nancy & Co. won't be back to D.C. until mid September, just in time for The MOB's planed siege on the White House. Coincidence? I too live in NJ. Do Not bail N.J's years of mismanagement being portrayed as a victim of the virus. Same with all the other dem run, dem destroyed states.

There is no downside to denying the democrats the bailouts they want. Sure the media will scream but that is what they do, ignore them. However, voters will sit up and take notice that just maybe Congress is actually going to do something positive for the American tax payer. So boy and girls, find a spine and stiffen it up like a steel rod and tell these spend thrifts that we are not going to throw good money after bad. The old cash cow is dead to them and from now on, they have to better manage their resources. Tell them to go start a Go Fund Me page if they believe the American people want to bail out their sorry hides. Let all those mega rich democrats do something for their cities and states for once in their lives and put their money where their mouths are. Should be a no brainer after all, democrats believe they have a divine right to rule...then let them fund it. Mitch and his bale of turtles have something to prove to the American tax payer and that is they are actually ready, able and willing to serve the country instead of themselves.

Not one dime. Failed democrat officials and the people who put them into office regularly need to pay the price for their waste, corruption and mismanagement. Same with Illinois, California, Washington, Oregon, New York and Minnesota. There's no way that New Jersey should have double and triple the tax rates of neighboring states and still can't survive.

This is a good ''political opportunity'' to vote democrats out of office. Everywhere. Vote a straight Republican ticket. We need to clean out the democrats and then start working on the RINOs and other useless Republicans.
Maybe in a couple of voting cycles we can get some more dedicated public servants into office!

There are a LOT of people who need help ($1200), and denying people who are struggling for cynical reasons is a great way to lose elections, from the president down to numerous congressional races. The Dems are losing, and badly.

Mitch should do the take-away two step. This is our final offer and than walk away. Leave Nancy and Schumer to answer to the American people.

You don't need the stimulus, or more debt. Just open the economy. The stimulus is going to those unemployed that used to work at restaurants, bars, gyms, hair and nail salons, retail stores, sports and entertainment. That is a lot of people that should be allowed to go back to work.

For people who make comments about the civil war being about freeing slaves, that was just something that was added well into the way by Lincoln to get northerners to support his cause. The north wasn't trying to free slaves when the war started.
The REAL reason the southern states tried to secede was because the northern states were using tariffs on southern exports, mainly cotton, to support the northern states who didn't want tariffs on their own exports, and the southern states were durn tired of supporting them.

Does this remind you of that one sibling who made every stupid life decision, then mooched off their parents all their lives, and then thought they should get more than their other siblings in the end, because they need it more?

I live in Florida. A state that doesn’t spend beyond its means. Now the states that spend money like it grows on trees (overwhelmingly Democrat controlled) expect the rest of us to be taxed to pay the bill for there outrageous spending. I not only say no, but HELL NO!

Why are you punishing FL for maintaining a budget ? We already put up with the transplants.
We don't want to bail out IL either. Grow a spine Mitch.
