White House trade adviser Peter Navarro is sure President Trump's recent executive actions on coronavirus relief will pass any legal challenge against them.
"I’m confident that every single one of those orders, which cleared through the Office of Legal Counsel, will stand up," Navarro said Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press.
Over the weekend, Trump signed an executive order and memorandums regarding economic relief for those who have faced job losses and financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Trump's move came after Congress failed to reach a deal to pass a second relief package.

Obama signed over 2000 executive orders. No one said a word.

The only group with possible standing would be the House or Senate and I cannot see the Republican-led Senate doing such. But Lord would I love to see the Dems sue the President in order to take away financial benefits - they could lose EVERY race in November. Hey! I can dream, can't I?

Good! The democrats refuse to negotiate the benefit amount down, in an attempt to kill the work ethic, so they deserve a good dose of "forget you then, already".

It is sad that the Dems have spent the last 4 years NOT doing the people's business, but only feeding their Trump-hating obsession. Imagine an entire political party coming down with the same mental illness.

The Dems still don't understand who they're dealing with... President Trump is a master negotiator and a successful businessman... if the Dems take him to court American workers will see who cares about them... loud and clear...President Trump...Make America great again....

Seems to me, that congress got used to a lot of things during the Obama years. Like not having to actually do their job, because Obama did all those mostly illegal EO's. Then there is the real sneaking suspicion out there that Pelosi is throwing her tantrums about Trump, because she got real used to being treated like the co-president she thinks she is by Obama. Congress is being made to face many nasty realities right now, and the normal behavior for them is to try and ignore it all and hope Trump doesn't win in November.

I don't like executive orders, not from Obama, not from Trump, not for political purposes. And I really don't like this one. The pressure to "open up" will build when the workforce is forced to find work, and employers to produce or fail. Government cheese only allows a delay after delay, including local edicts that ban church gatherings over a certain size while backing down to public demonstrations.
Congress failing to act is a service to America and Americans. It is exactly what the founders had in mind...to protect our liberty from an encroaching government...while modern Americans are willing to trade liberty for "something" provided by that Government.

I am not a constitutional scholar, so whether or not these executive orders are legal is outside my area of expertise. However, from a political standpoint, Mr. Trump is brilliant.
His orders continue Federal unemployment benefit subsidies, but at a third less rate. It isn't the full $600/week that the Dems are pushing for (an amount that allows some to receive more money under unemployment insurance than they would by working), but it isn't the $200/week that the Pubbies were asking for (a two-third less rate).
The mortgage and rent protections seem reasonable. I mean, government forced -- FORCED -- people out of work. How in hell were they supposed to pay for the basics like mortgage and rent when they were ordered to stay home and get fat on the couch while watching Amazon Prime?!
And the other provisions, while generous, are pretty reasonable for the short term too. Yet the bloody Congress cannot put its partisanship aside and come up with a reasonable compromise -- largely because the Dems' demand are so unreasonable, there is no way to compromise.
Trump win. Dems lose -- again!

#13, democrats don't want the economy to open up until after the election.
I think they wanted to be the one's who helped keep the $600/week extra unemployment benefit, which they'd be grateful for, and feel obligation, and so they'd have a huge group of possible campaign volunteers.

I think that the Democrats suing Trump to prevent relief for people thrown out of work by the China virus would be a great campaign ad.
Go for it, idiots. Prove in court that you want to hurt average Americans financially for political gain. I dare you.

No new negotiations with Marxists. Let these executive orders ride until the election. After the Democrat Governors allow US to open the economy and schools on November 4th we can talk.

The demonrats are already caving - now suddenly Pelosi and Schumer want to “work with the president” on CV19 relief. They’re now shouting, “Us too! Us too!”

#15 - I don’t care what the Dems want or don’t want. You get what you subsidize and we are subsidizing a closed down economy, Worse is, on principle, I dislike executive orders. It smacks of dictatorship. I don’t care who issues them. Let’s cheer for the next Onama, because the principle of using such orders for hackery is now apparently legit. So are outlandish TRILLIONS whizzed away.
