New York’s attorney general sued the National Rifle Association on Thursday, seeking to put the powerful gun advocacy organization out of business over allegations that high-ranking executives diverted millions of dollars for lavish personal trips, no-show contracts for associates and other questionable expenditures.Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit, filed in state court in Manhattan after an 18-month investigation, highlighted misspending and self-dealing allegations that have roiled the NRA and its longtime leader, Wayne LaPierre, in recent years — from hair and makeup for his wife to a $17 million post-employment contract for himself. Simultaneously, the Washington, D.C., attorney general sued the NRA Foundation,

An anti-second amendment briefing? Is she thinking gun owners are now going to vote for Joe? Maybe the president put her up to it.

LaPierre needs to go. His indescretions are personal, well-known and unforgiveable. The NRA is not responsible. The actions, however, are not any different than what Congressional Deadwoods do to us every day. If Letitia thinks that this will put a dent in the 2nd Amendment she is dreaming and possibly smoking the same stuff that Duh Blasio is.

Unlike the ChiDem ( Chinese Democrat Party) Communists who will turn a blind eye to all the corruption, thieving, lying, sedition, and treason acts committed on a daily basis within their own ranks, if there is corruption within the NRA in particular regarding Wayne LaPierre, NRA members will demand that he resign and be brought to justice however trying to dissolve the NRA is just a ChiDem attempt to go after our guns and Second Amendment rights.
If LaPierre and his cronies within the NRA abused their positions and committed crimes they must resign and stand trial.

I couldn’t watch more than 2 minutes of this. The speaker was very hard to listen to. I found her off putting. I could care less about what she had to say about anything.

Attorney General Letitia James announced a lawsuit. The suit alleges that "top NRA executives misused charitable funds for personal gain, awarded contracts to friends and family members, and provided contracts to former employees to ensure loyalty."
Insert "Democrat congressmen" for "NRA executives" and you have a real lawsuit, and one considerably larger than a mere $64 million. Think Maxine Watters. But then she and all the others would be James' friends.

Speaking of financial irregularities, how about closing down an organization more worthy of this, like the Clinton Foundation.

I agree #3. I gave you a like. I am a multiple gun owner and a 2nd Amendment advocate. I don’t belong to the NRA because of management abuses. Ollie North saw the problems and called them out.

So THIS was the big whooptie-do she announced last night?? T'would seem SOMEONE has delusions of grandeur!! Maybe she is going for a dark-horse slot as Dementia Joe's VP!!
Suing the NRA for what is basically an internal affairs issue is a non-starter. The NRA has dealt with this crap before and will again. Frankly, I'd have been more impressed if she had announced lawsuits and criminal investigations into the Clinton Foundation or the American Red Cross, both of which did the same thing, but on a bigger scale, with both exploiting natural disasters to gain the funds for their misuse. Remember Haiti??

So many liberals are SO let down by this today. They've all been salivating over it relating to Trump's bank docs. As for dissolving the NRA, it seems more likely that the malfeasers will be sued or prosecuted and punished, rather than the First and Second Amendment rights of ordinary Americans will be infringed, but thanks for showing us who you are, Dems.

Sadly, the swamp even infests groups favorable to Americans and the Second Amendment.
These big time deals -- $17M payouts to LaPierre, $8M to run the TVA, all are a sign of the swamp.
Yes, Wayne deserves (and earned) a good salary and benefits package. But put it in one check and not build it into personal expenses and golden parachutes.

I agree with #3. LaPierre has been a terrible representative for the NRA, quite apart from his misuse of funds for personal gain. He wears a constant scowl, which he probably thinks is his "fighting face," but he just looks like a grumpy old fart. There are so many far better possibilities, such as Colion Noir or Dana Loesch, who are personable, engaging and often funny, and can preach beyond the choir. I will not re-join NRA until LaPierre is gone.

Look up the cozy deal LaPierre worked out with Ackerman/McQueen advertising. I'm not saying they did anything illegal, but I'm glad none of my money was involved.

The increasing instances of citizen's standing up to protect their families, homes and business', especially in light of reduced police protection, is the only thing standing between the Marxists and the destruction of America. The Second Amendment was included in the Constitution for this very reason- not to allow squirrel hunting!
Those who have never read or studied the Constitution don't understand. They have been conditioned to trust their lives and livelihoods to government politicians and bureaucrats.
''Gun ownership is not a right. If it was, it would be included in the Constitution!''

I bet that the NY Attorney General, during the course of her long investigation, as been unable to find even one NRA member who has committed gun violence in NY State resulting in an illegal aggravated assault or murder, serious criminal offenses that have become routine especially in liberal Democrat run New York City.
If that Attorney General were interested in investigating the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Organization there, is no doubt that she could find, if she wanted to, all sorts of financial fraud and indiscretions.
Her big announcement today, coming during the run up to the November election, is obviously a highly political hit job aimed at a prominent conservative organization that supports President Trump and the 2nd Amendment and the right to keep and bare arms that are not supported by the leftist and liberal Democrat Party of today.

The NY AG knows the suit is not worth jack squat. The purpose of the suit is to force the NRA to spend all their time and money on legal costs, and exhaust their funds, so they cannot spend anything on defeating Democrats.

If this was the criteria for putting something out of business, the government would have been gone long ago. In fact thats why the government prosecutes criminals....it hates competition.

Somehow I doubt that this NY AG has conducted the same biased investigation of BLM, Antifa, CAIRE, Muslim Brotherhood, ....or the flipping Democrat National Party
