Committing Political Suicide?

Joe Biden and the Democratic Party may have seriously hobbled their election prospects in November by refusing to send out staff and volunteers to campaign door-to-door, building the essential “ground game” that helps win elections. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) claim to have volunteers and staff knocking on 1 million doors a week across America.
The Biden campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) claim that they are not committing political suicide but merely adapting to the coronavirus pandemic. They told Politico that they can compensate for the lack of in-person canvassing with phone calls, texts, digital organizing, and virtual meet-ups with voters.

If someone wearing a Biden 2020 button knocked on my door, I'd pretend to not be at home.

Slo Jo AND his “campaign” are both HIDING from the voters. Dementia is a cruel, cruel master. His non-MD wife should help him gracefully drop out, where are you “Dr”?

To me honest, I don't even want to see a Trump campaigner at my door.
"Door to door" work should be off limits this year. Permanently would be fine with me.

Adds credibility to the theory that Democrats are putting all their chips on mail-in ballots to cause chaos and confusion to allow enough blue states to claim they can't certify a winner before the electoral college must meet. This throws the election into the Democrat-run House of representatives who can pick anyone they want for President. How about Michele Obama reluctantly agrees to take the job for the good of the country?

stepping back from the door after ringing or knocking, is an old fashioned and successful sales technique. It is non threatening, and respectful of personal space.
Old Jo can't send campaign workers out if doing so is too dangerous for him.
I get the feeling that if Old Jo had not eluded the draft board and had gone to Viet Nam as a 2nd lt., his troops would have fragged him.
finally, i find a Biden tv ad deeply offensive.
A woman named Martinez lost her grandmother to Kung Flu, and the woman is holding DJT personally responsible. What a crummy, dishonest ad!

FTA: "The move appears to be “part of a larger gamble that voters will give Biden credit for taking the coronavirus more seriously than Trump.”
The only people I know who are deathly afraid of the Wuhan flu are leftists who watch CNN and MSNBC. Most other people are sick of the panic, know that a lot of it is political posturing and who want to get on with their lives.

The Entire Biden Strategy is:
Punxsutawney Joe sneaks upstairs and peaks out of his basement. If he sees his shadow
it means six more weeks without Debates.

The reason Joe BidenAss has no ground game is because he can't find any volunteers to actually go out and campaign on his behalf. That is the reality of the situation. All the rest of the rationalizations are just a smoke screen thrown up by his staff to deflect scrutiny of the truth: BidenAss has Zero support from his own team.

Door to door is a waste of time. Who is going to change their minds? Not Trumpers, and the Dems are still all-in for Biden. An effort from the pre-information age.

There's always a bigger game...and Placekeeper Joe is part of one. It would appear the UNIPARTY Dems are ready to sacrifice to diminish the onslaught of the radicals. It keeps the UNIPARTY in power one more election cycle...and its leadership is not getting younger, whether Mitch, Nancy, Kevin or Chuck-U.

I don't have too many election cycles left in me but to me when the democrats chose Hillary in 2016 the biggest threat in my view was Bernie Sanders. I think Sanders was more of a winner to the democrats and a terror to Trump. I feel the same now instead of Biden swinging farther left they already have that with Bernie Sanders plus the old nut job could be on the trail with his bros and probably collecting more bros along the way. A sacrifice is a sacrifice so why not Sanders instead of this joke with Joe Biden.

The media’s constant attempts to show Biden blowing Trump away in ‘the polls’ is pathetic. Agree with #10 that no one is going to be persuaded by a campaign volunteer at their door suggesting who they should vote for. Everyone already knows who they are going to vote for.

The DNC and Biden's campaign know 2020 is a lost cause. That's why they raised up and selected a throw-away candidate with a thrown-away campaign. Over 20 second rate candidates; not a star in the bunch, and even then the best they could do was a candidate that never got past playing second fiddle.

Even if Joey could win the election, is he planning on governing the nation from his basement? How would he ever meet with the heads of other nations or even his own cabinet. Is his basement really that big? Just asking for a friend.

The sad thing is, Uncle Joe probably won't understand that he lost the election. "Come on man. I couldn't lose!"
"it will also hurt Democrats in down-ballot races", yup. It's going to be a massacre of the dems. There will be tears and wailing and gnashing of teeth. And we will laugh at the fall of their arrogance and their dismay and frustration.
Then we will continue to rebuild our Country.
