I never understood why pro sports leagues thought that buying into a far-left, anti-American narrative would ingratiate them with their fans. At the moment, it looks like my skepticism (shared by many, of course) was justified. Breitbart reports: “Ratings crash for NBA, MLB after protest-filled debuts.”
As the NBA and MLB return from their coronavirus-imposed hiatus, it appears TV viewers are not interested in what the increasingly woke leagues have to offer.
With both baseball and basketball draped in all sorts of Black Lives Matter and social justice symbolism for their opening games,

Sweet Wife and I are the exact socio-economic demographic they need.....to remain viable. We earn the necessary income to buy the over-priced tickets, parking and concessions associated with attending big league sports events. We are the target market for much of the advertising associated with the broadcast side of these games.
And they're gonna' insult me.....tell me I'm a racist.....and have been all my life? They don't even know me.
No thanks. I'll be attending our grandson's T-ball games. Equally entertaining. And without all the multi-millionaire drama associated with big league sports.

All this made possible only by the perversion of American public education. If history is not taught or is deliberately revised, slanted towards fascism, we get a whole generation of kneeling lemmings, plus America haters.

I certainly will not watch any of these bozos on tv let alone actually go to a stadium if and when they ever open again. You could give me free tickets, a suite, all the food I could eat and a free limo and I'd tell you exactly where to go. I don't need any of you. But if no one watches commercial income drops off, if and when you return and no one wants to deal with your stupidity in person your big fat paychecks will dissapear. No shoes, no shirts, no nothing will be bought. If I am so evil and disgusting do you really think I am going to spend my time and money on you and yours? Uh, I don't think so. I am tired of being pooped on by the BM Movement. You will not be missed.

Buying into a far-left narrative has NOTHING to do with the fans. It's caused by (1) fear and (2) the woke corporations the leagues must deal with. The fans are a secondary consideration.

Maybe we should wait to go back until only 23% of staff are black.

I keep hearing that the audience is no longer Americans, but I find it hard to believe that people in other countries are going to be the revenue generators that Americans were. So what in the Sam hill is the logic behind all this anti-Americanism? Destroy the sports industry?

These leagues are not sports, they're business. Adults being paid to play children's games. Sorry, game over. (Not sorry).

I have been enjoying my grand kids playing baseball this summer. One is in a traveling league and we have seen some "real" baseball. It's also been fun to watch the younger ones begin to put the dirt down and make plays.
Interestingly enough the parents have been very normal, rarely a mask sighted. A bit less sitting on the bleachers and more in our own chairs. I refuse to let the saps ruin a great game but I have no interest in watching their display of foolish, self indulgent, and arrogant behavior.

Sports figures and the corporations that employ them are quickly going to realize that they need us more than we need them. LeBron believes he is essential to our society. Got news for him, he is not along with the rest of the arrogant, self-serving, entitled children who can’t even manage their own lives. What they don’t know is that there really are more of us than there are of them. Enjoy it boys and girls while you can. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.

They've lost their minds. We love sports because it USED TO transcend politics, race, and personal vitriol. No more. Every SJW-prima donna who wears a message on his back instead of a name should never be called by that name again. Let the announcers say "Black lives matter" for a three at the buzzer!" and see how long that yahoo wears his woke jersey!

You pay game-players of mediocre intellect millions of dollars, buy their merchandise, beg them for their autographs and interview them on TV like they actually have something valuable to say and then wonder why they think they are somebody important? Their delusion is being destroyed rather quickly this year. They can't sit back silently while their people destroy neighborhoods, shoot children and steal what they can't afford because they don't bother to earn a paycheck and then expect the American people to ignore the fact that they disrespect the flag and the United States. They will soon find themselves working at Burger King and wondering where the gold jewelry, the Maseratis and their big mansions went. The NFL will continue to learn the same lesson. I quit watching when Kaepernick knelt the first time and I will never be back. People are sick of black lives matter. The support from stupid white people is out of fear, not respect. The coming backlash will set blacks back further than they were in 1964.

Pro sports better figure this out quickly otherwise the hole they are digging will just keep getting deeper.
Last I heard, hockey isn't taking a knee. Good for them if true.
Formula One racing takes a knee but it is done before the national anthem, and they are all standing for the anthem. its also quite obvious that its F1 pushing this and not the drivers. Last Sunday they had one driver after another reading statements that were practically identical. Should note F1 races in a different country every week. Suspect the statement 'end racism' has a different meaning depending on where they are driving.
Near as I can tell, nobody is taking a knee in NASCAR, but they have Bubba Wallace. The latest in the Bubba Wallace saga is he is being offered part ownership of the car he drives. Suddenly Bubba Wallace is a commodity in high demand.
The biggest problem with all of this is its symbolic. It won't save one black life or fix any of the problems in the black community, but they can all go around proudly patting themselves on the back. No doubt they are shelling out money like good little responsible corporate entities. There is a certain level of hypocrisy in this.

MLB's shoulder patches were apparently one day only affairs. The damage was done. What next? Hoisting social justice slogans to the rafters next to the 42 medallions already up there? Baseball is little played by American black players.
The diamonds are empty in the cities. MLB has tried to revive the game, and not doing well as it takes too many to make a game - and a kid can shoot baskets by himself, two makes a game. Caribbean and Latin American players have zero in common with American blacks. With less than 10% of the players black Americans, the "peer pressure" to take up the cause is minimal.

I was watching the Mets and Braves game last night, and was surprised at the BLM commercials and other BS commercials about racism. Needless to say, I switched channels. However, after thinking about it, it was the Atlanta broadcast network/team broadcasting the game, so they must be playing to the so called WOKE people in Atlanta.

Sports, except for hockey, left me cold, long ago, so I did not have the intense pleasure/yet disappointment of turning them off due to their latest revolting lack of conscience. All I can do is shrug and say, "I saw it coming."
When they forgot thatwall they were doing was playing a game that had no real life consequences for anyone else - when they forgot their audience didnt need them, and that they owed their fans EVERYTHING - they became irrelevant and useless.

Sad to report, but the National Hockey League has shown players from some teams joining the kneelers during the anthem. I had hoped for better, but it appears that all professional sports are tainted with anti-American thinking. I wish sail-boat racing was a bit more exciting to watch, maybe that is the only pure sport left.
