Call it an unforced error — a potentially serious backfire.
Over there at CNN, former Bill Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart outs the Democrats’ greatest fear: that Joe Biden will be a disaster in the scheduled presidential debates with President Trump. So Lockhart’s recommendation to Biden? Don’t debate.
Lockhart’s stated reason for a Biden refusal to debate is, no kidding, this:
Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump. Trump has now made more than 20,000 misleading or false statements according to the Washington Post. It’s a fool’s errand to enter the ring with someone who can’t follow the rules or the truth. Biden will undoubtedly take heat

Huge odds he will never be President.
Huge odds he won’t even remain the candidate.
Say goodnight, Joe.

Mike Obama feels a stirring in "her" loins. Traitor Soetero feels another eight years looming on the horizon. But you know what? They both deserve to be put down like old dogs or feral cats.

You can bet the V.P. will take advantage immediately. Anyone who runs as Joe's Vice President is there for one purpose and that is to become President as soon as is possible. The dems want to destroy this country and they will choose one of their favorites to make that happen.

If his handlers won’t let Biden debate, PDT should hold them anyway and debate an empty podium a la Clint Eastwood and the empty chair. And I think that PDT would do a much better job of it. He could be perfectly nice and calm and it would be absolutely brutal for Biden.

I think the dems are punting the Presidential contest, they know they can't win.
They just want the House & Senate. They can get rid of PDJT that way.
We have to get the vote out to get Republicans in & democrats out.
How anyone with a modicum of intelligence could vote for a dem after all we're seen this year is beyond my understanding.

Great article, never the details of Wilson’s infirmity.
I’m still perplexed about the Democrat strategy. Despite him naming a VP before the convention, the DNC can replace him after he is nominated, with a Presidential candidate, e.g. Clinton.
Or, are they going allow Biden and his VP pick to go to “slaughter” and lock and load for 2024?

The basement strategy no doubt has its negative consequences but what would the consequences be of letting Biden out in public? A free range Biden is a complete disaster.

I don't think the Woodrow Wilson scenario would work today for a president, but it does seem to be the blueprint for keeping Ruth Bader Gunsburg on the court (has anyone seen her in the last 3 months?). Biden will be more like the crazy aunt locked in the attic that Ross Perot kept warning us about.

If the democrats want to debate the best president in our history they are going to have to do better. Donald Trump would chew Joe up and spit him all over the stage.

Reply to no. 10. One of Lockhart's "Trump lies" is, he said he would build the wall and he hasn't. Last I checked he is "building" the wall, but in Clinton-speak, that is not the same as "built" the wall.

As sad as it is to see this elder abuse, it's tough to not feel that Old Quid Pro Joe deserves it.
Personally, I don't want to say or do anything that helps the Dems, so they are forced to keep juggling this live hand-grenade and I want them to have the worst situation possible with the worst outcome when it finally blows up. Thus, I hope they keep him as their nominee.
May Joe stay in the basement until after Labor Day and then long about, say, Halloween, we open fire. Full blast ... but wait until you see the whites of their eyes!

Here's an idea. Don't hide Biden's incapacity, and go ahead with the debates. As usual, two lecterns; one with Trump and the other with Biden and a supporting committee. Moderator poses a question; and when it's Biden's turn to answer, the committee huddles for a few minutes and arrives at a consensus answer. Then Biden, or another committee member, states the reply. If anyone complains about this debate format, the Biden/committee response would be "this is what all presidents do in the oval office to arrive at a solution". Debate problem solved!

The purpose of a Trump-Biden debate is to show how kind PDT is to senile people.
However, I don't think that PDT should volunteer to wipe the drool off of Biden's chin.

The debates will be Trump (with a dead microphone) vs Biden, the moderators, and a hyper partisan audience. Trump will be forbidden to speak to Biden or ask him any questions because that will take Biden off script that has been prepared the Biden's handlers and the moderators.
Perhaps there will be people off stage holding up signs directing the audience to boo and cheer as directed.

If you can’t emerge from a basement because you are too frail- how can you handle the rigors of Presidency?
Very basic question that should be pounded..
We will bring the debate to your basement- the moderator and tv crew will only be allowed-
Next-? Come on people let’s thing solutions...

Biden is a place-keeper for the UNIPARTY to keep the radicals, who are non-UNIPARTY ideologues, from the nomination one more cycle. The ultimate goal is to rid UNIPARTY Washington of Trump. If he wins re-election, impeachment will follow, maybe even with a GOP-majority House. Conviction in the Senate takes a supermajority, and will have to be bipartisan anyways.

Whatever the dems say, you KNOW it is a lie and you should look for their hidden fear and culpability. Senile Joe is his own worst enemy. Trump would incinerate him with truth and the media wouldn't be able to filter it. It would be VERY public and VERY bad. People who are senile and get trapped can often explode in anger. We have already seen Joe do this.
Once Joe melts down, the questions to the media are "WHY didn't you and the dems tell us truthfully about Joe's condition?". "Is it acceptable to run a senile candidate for president?" Of course there is no good answer for this either. The media/dems/Left lied because they will do ANYTHING to win. They are morally and ethically bankrupt and Joe's collapse would expose all that. It would be 100 times worse than Mueller's disastrous public testimony.
As to the parallels to Wilson, Wilson fell ill AFTER being elected. It SHOULD have been revealed but it was hidden. That was wrong.
Biden isn't even the official nominee yet. The party could pick someone else. Talking about being "truthful", how honest is it to hide a critically debilitating illness from the voters? Senility makes Biden incapable of being president. Period. What else should we expect from the party of "Russia, Russia, Russia". It seems their greatest strength is their ability to deceive.

Biden cannot avoid debating Mr. Trump without damaging his own campaign. That would make Biden look week. Claiming that Mr. Trump does not tell the truth in debates doesn't help Biden either. The average person isn't going to accept that. The claim makes Biden look weak. On top of that, the claim is inaccurate.

I've noticed that he even has trouble walking from point A to point B. He carries himself like someone who is well into his 80's. I wonder how many hours a day he's sleeping in that basement--12? 15? Whoever he picks as veep is unlikely to generate any enthusiasm because they're all denizens of Loser City. His time came and his time went. When was that? Just after the Renaissance? If independent voters vote for him the country is already lost.

Lockhart's stated reason for 'no debate' makes no sense, because a public debate would be the most visible way that any competent debater could expose any lies his opponent was spinning.
Therefore, Lockhart, like the rest of the Demo establishment, is terrified that Joe will expose his own poor mental state, and thereby seal the election for Trump.

It's coming to CNN... the fake news.... soon...biden will not be the candidate...and therefore will not debate... or like the Dems in Chicago do... he will need hospitalization...so no one will see him...or interview him... then surprise... hillary will step in to help... President Trump should debate an empty chair... to show America the stupidity of the DEMS...

When he's speaking, Old Joe has an anxious look like "am I doing it right?" It tells me that he's been extensively coached on what to say and do. He shuffles around like a very old man in a rest home. Sad to see a confused old man being abused like that.
