Every NHL Player Stands For The
National Anthem During First Game Back

Original Article

Every single player on the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Rangers stood during the national anthem Saturday afternoon. In the first game of the NHL’s 24-team postseason return during the coronavirus pandemic, not a single player on either team took a knee. Protesting during the national anthem is front and center again in the world of sports, and virtually the entire NBA has done it. In fact, the only player to not take a knee through Friday was Orlando Magic player Jonathan Isaac.

Not so fast with the praise there folks. I tuned into the Pittsburgh game last night for about 1 minute, that is all it took for me to see the BLM banner cycling around the top of the overhead scoreboard. I don't know if it was there for the entire match or not, nor do I care, it's over for "professional" sports in my house.

Yeah, it's not quite enough for me. For heaven's sake, when did it become an act of heroism to honor the flag and the anthem? Isn't it simply the right thing to do?

I pledge allegiance, to the Blacks... Division and strife is their plan. Race. Mask/no mask. Support of Diversity™. Went to Autozone yesterday, got to the door and had to return to car to get my mask. Woman standing outside without a mask just shook her head in a knowing way. We had a discussion. "It'll be over November 4" she said. We laughed.

I knew there was a reason to like hockey - aside from actually playing it middle school through college. Still don't care for what the Canadians did to ther country - it used to be as free as the U.S. and is now... a psuedoEuropean Mob-ruled morass, descending into true swamp-hood. Give them a few years more and the Soviets would be impressed.

U.S. Plans to Build New

A recent White House memo directs the Pentagon and other executive departments to provide a roadmap by early August for creating a security fleet of icebreaker ships, Fox News reported Monday. The move to acquire icebreaker ships signals Washington’s recognition of the Arctic and Antarctic regions' increasing geopolitical significance, as well as a willingness to stand up to China and Russia. The memo comes at a time when the United States has minimal strategic capabilities in the polar regions—there is not a single U.S. port in the Arctic capable of housing icebreaking ships.

Call it an unforced error — a potentially serious backfire. Over there at CNN, former Bill Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart outs the Democrats’ greatest fear: that Joe Biden will be a disaster in the scheduled presidential debates with President Trump. So Lockhart’s recommendation to Biden? Don’t debate. Lockhart’s stated reason for a Biden refusal to debate is, no kidding, this: Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump. Trump has now made more than 20,000 misleading or false statements according to the Washington Post. It’s a fool’s errand to enter the ring with someone who can’t follow the rules or the truth. Biden will undoubtedly take heat

But the accident caused Mr. Nadler to be an hour late to the hearing. Watching Mr. Nadler during that hearing, which starred Attorney General William Barr, you might think he had hit his head in the accident. But, alas, Mr. Nadler was already that dumb. Even before the accident, he was severely damaged goods. That said, it is always unwise to underestimate Mr. Nadler. I never understood why pro sports leagues thought that buying into a far-left, anti-American narrative would ingratiate them with their fans. Democratic vice-presidential hopefuls sprinted for the finish Sunday as the 2020 veepstakes entered the home stretch in what could be the most crucial running-mate selection since World War II. Not since 1944, when an ailing President Franklin Delano Roosevelt dumped incumbent Vice President Henry Wallace and selected Sen. Harry S. Truman as his second-in-command, has the decision been so widely viewed as the choosing of an heir apparent, given former Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s age and the open speculation surrounding his cognitive abilities. “It is consequential in that for Joe Biden, his VP pick is in many ways his political living will,” said Trump senior campaign adviser Jason Miller

The third in a series of monthly Democracy Institute/ Sunday Express polls has given President Trump a surprise lead over his Democrat rival of 48 percent to 46 percent, his clearest lead yet. Crucially, President Trump has a lead of 48 percent to 43 percent in the swing states Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin which would put him back in the White House with an electoral college tally of 309 to Biden’s 229. Specifically, in Florida Trump has a 47 to 45 point lead, Minnesota (where the black lives matters protests began) a 46/45 lead, and New Hampshire a 46/43 lead.

Picture this Thanksgiving: turkey, football (maybe), tenser-than-usual interactions with relatives. And perhaps a new tradition: finding out who actually won the presidential election. The coronavirus crisis means that states like Pennsylvania may be counting mail-in ballots for weeks, while President Trump tweets false allegations about fraud. And the last barriers between American democracy and a deep political crisis may be television news and some version of that maddening needle on The New York Times website. I spoke last week to executives, TV hosts and election analysts across leading American newsrooms,

For one thing, there is no state in the nation with “virtually no gun control” or “no background checks.” Every time anyone in the United States purchases a gun

Joe Biden has delayed naming his vice presidential pick by two weeks amid worries the process has become a mess that has pitted women against woman. Biden said last week he would announce his running mate the first week of August but that appears unlikely to happen this week as he hasn't narrowed down his pick amid pressure to name a black woman. But now that's been moved back by two weeks, The Washington Post reported, amid worries from Biden supporters that the process has become 'messier than it should be,' pitting women - and especially black women - against one another.

Shutting things down “for a month or six weeks” would allow the nation’s case count to get low enough that the government’s testing and contact tracing efforts could effectively contain future spreading, Kashkari said,
