In a brazen crime caught on camera early Sunday morning, a group of men riding Divvy bikes surrounded an elderly man's car in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood, pulled the driver out and stole his vehicle. Video of the incident shows approximately 12 men on bikes circling the victim's car at around 10 a.m. Sunday on Grand Avenue just west of Columbus Drive. As the group blocks the driver, an 82-year-old man, from leaving, one man opens the door and begins to pull the victim out by his arm. As seen on surveillance video, the victim eventually steps out of the driver's seat as four men jump in the car. They throw bags out

I go to that area fairly regularly. I have family 3 blocks away from where this happened. As I watched the video I was pondering what I would do since I don't go there unarmed anymore. No way would I assume that they were only after my vehicle, I would feel threatened, scared to death frankly, enough to start depopulating the neighborhood. Then my life would be forever changed. I really need to consider bringing more loaded magazines with me. By the way, aforementioned family mentioned that the familial pasty white skin tone has become rare on what was the magnificent mile area and the waste baskets are full of white "T" shirts.

The trouble is that there are no longer any consequences for committing crime in Chicago. A week ago, 14 people were shot outside of a gang-banger's funeral. Just yesterday, another gang-banger was caught with a loaded gun outside of another funeral home and was released on his own recognizance with zero bond...

FTA, “... a group of men riding Divvy bikes,” are evidently the only facts available to print about the assailants. Either the description of the attackers is a forgone conclusion, the editors are too polite to include the carjackers’ descriptions, or the video makes it unnecessary. Looks like out of an original cohort of eight to twelve young black males, some shirtless, wearing black beanies or reversed ball caps, circling a car on Grand Ave., four abandoned their city-provided Divvy bikes to haul an elderly white man out of his car, dumping his belongings on the street, and stealing the vehicle. Omitting the facts of alleged criminals’ appearance does no one any favors. Bigoted though it may sound I think as a society we’ve transited the point where such details should be omitted so as not to “shame,” a racial group. Maybe such a racial group should be shamed if they’re statistically proven to be at the epicenter of most violent crime. Rarely does ones own, “personal truth,” actually make more sense than the truth objective fact reveals. Eric Hoffer — 'Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.’ About time to abandon the, “Progressive,” project.

Don't cars have door locks? Cars have been made for decades that have a one button lock on all doors. Why don't people use them? I started driving in 1970 and Dad always said to lock all doors while driving. You are most vulnerable at a traffic stop light. Videos of people pulled out of their cars are all over the place. Reginald Denny happened in 1992. Why are people so stupid not to lock their doors?

The coronavirus pandemic has been great for streaming services as consumers quarantine at home and watch more video. The same can’t be said for regular TV. AT&T reported it lost another 886,000 cable and satellite TV subscribers in the second quarter of 2020. The telecommunications giant—the second largest TV provider in the US behind only Comcast—lost about the same number of TV subscribers in the previous quarter. Its total subscriber base has eroded 18% in the last year alone. If sports were still on TV, AT&T and other providers may have been able to temporarily slow down the acceleration of cord-cutting. But without sports, expensive TV bundles don’t offer consumers enough value.
