Socialism destroyed NASCAR, now the corporation is marketing racism for a new audience. Here is how and why from a simple observer perspective.
Auto racing is exciting. Auto racing racing is also dangerous; and became very expensive. Years of NASCAR success put them into the spotlight of big business; then another thing happened… A decision was made to make the racing “more competitive” through a series of rules and regulations that essentially made every car different but equal. NASCAR followed the socialist corporate model.NASCAR intentionally tried -and succeeded- to slow the cars down.
‘It’s too dangerous‘ the corporation said. So restrictor plates, and rules, and regulations, and more rules,

Excellent article. So true, and so sad! I've love NASCAR since we lived in TN close to the Bristol Track. We went to all the races and had a Ball. Yes there were lots of "Bubbas" there along with a lot of Confederate Flag owners and sprinkled in were Women, like me, who loved the whole package of Race Day! So Sorry to see even it is going down in the Trash heap of history!

The excitement of the origins of NASCAR was due to the idea of good 'ol boys tinkering with their cars to make them go faster than than those prepped by multi-million dollar teams and driving them crazy-fast-and-hairy into and out of the turns. NASCAR, with all its rules, has effectively killed that, They've just about converted NASCAR races into "soccer on wheels"...i.e., if you're so much faster than anyone else then that's "off sides" and you have to be slowed down to let the others catch up to you because that's only fair. Or something like that.
It's like "racing for accountants...or soccer moms...or social justice Uber drivers" now.

Fortunately, I only get the big city paper a couple days a week (the weekend). I still have a love for reading the newspaper, I used to read any newspaper I could get my hands upon.
But reading the sports sections in the papers is downright depressing. Yeah, an article about some golf tournament, car race, sans fans and how sports leagues are planning or not planning to come back. But over half of the section is some sportswriter showing his "wokeness" or interviewing an athlete showng how "woke" he or she is.
Gag me with a spoon.

Time for my 2 cents worth.
The cars would be really easy to slow down if they went back to being NASCAR
Make them stock.Make them run what the factory builds.
Toyota doesn't put a V-8 in any of their cars, and Taurus is front wheel drive.
If the factories want their name on a race car, make them build one that is capable of racing Stock.
Make some modifications for safety, but basically a stock car.
Drop the teams so others can compete.
No more intermissions during races.
Run what ya brung.
As for Bubba I see a lot of problems there.
He has made his stand. That stand means anyone who rattles Bubba's chain while racing is a racist
Wreck Bubba and get a riot. They have to let Bubba pass no blocking ,blocking Bubba ??that's racist.
I have no intention of watching NASCAR this year or ANY YEAR WHILE IT IS RUN BY SOWFLAKES.

The original NASCAR originated from souped up stock cars from car dealers and were used to run moonshine from wholesaler to customers. Back in the good old days you could tell a Ford from a Chevy from a Dodge. Now, they are just metal shells that don't resemble dealership cars. Speed sold in the original NASCAR, now politics doesn't sell. TV coverage is bland. NASCAR has lost the soup.

When you leave your base and go for the money....your success is only transitory. There is still a lot of love for good ole racing at the flyover county fairs. And check out a demolition derby....they're as popular as ever. Nobody is in it for the money...just the fun. But I guess the county fairs will have to wait another year. I know the demo derbies will still be around.....will NASCAR?

NASCAR lost me years ago when the foolishness of slowing cars down and regulating everything made all the cars run at about the same speed. Barring wrecks or breakdowns, all would finish in a wad. NASCAR wouldn't finance bigger, safer tracks for the increasing capabilities of the cars. Slow them down instead! A real turn off for competition.
Then, to try interesting the fans, so they would watch again, they started making the drivers into celebrities. Being more interested in celebrity status than driving. Not only that, but drivers don't get their hands dirty any more. They let other people turn wrenches, while they strut around as prima donnas and sign up for endorsements. Walking billboards..
Now, NASCAR has really screwed up. Allowing racism and social issues to distract from what was left of the sport.
Local sprint cars and dirt track racing is far more exciting! Real drivers who work on their own cars and then drive them. No walking billboards!

I still think NASCAR made the right move when it banned alcohol and tobacco logos on the cars. It was soon after that the sport's popularity soared, although that may have been coincidental with the explosion of all pro sports on television and the associated rise in audiences and profits.

The leftists have ALWAYS hated NASCAR because it was the last bastion of American values and Southern pride. It looks like they've finally "Goodell\ed" them. like the NFL. to undermine one more institution of masculinity and sport.
It's time for conservatives to go after THEIR institutions - destroying them right back at them.

Stock cars used to use an actual frame and body from a street car, with a heavy tubular steel crash structure added. And the engines were moderately race prepped versions of the same engine that they sold in their hi performance street cars, and the transmission and brakes and rear axle had to be from the factory parts bin, available for sale to all.
Not one piece of a current NASCAR race car is the same as a factory part. Bodies are 100% fabbed in the shop.
NASCAR has pretty much ruined their sport, and it is far less interesting than it used to be.
Either get back to the roots, or just let it die out.

To add my 2 cents to yours, #5, (what does that equal in Common Core?) I think a little harassment of Bubba will begin sooner rather than later, a harder bump here and there, the frequency of bumps increasing. Never mind that the bump has been used steadily since the days of the King (Richard Petty) that "ungentlemanly" and racist maneuver will then be removed making races "cleaner." Not that it will matter, NASCAR will soon go the way of the NFL now that the spicy Southern flavor has been removed and replaced with low-sodium salt.
I too loved the racing and never missed an event at Charlotte even though it involved a six hour drive. Tent camping at the track and meeting many new friends at every race enhanced the opportunity. Restricting the cars and making every driver a Tom Cruise closed the deal for me. No more.
It's amazing how much Bubba looks like Jussie Smollett. They would be twins.

Great article. I think the same could be said, in part, for the pro faction of NHRA drag racing.

NASCAR has been hanged. Left to die as a result of a hand hold on a rope used to pull down a metal shutter. It was a noose, you know. A noose just big enough for a hand.
So folk will wave their confederate flags for demolition derbies, rodeos, or something else. But NASCAR can forget the TV money. It won't be theirs, because no one will watch.

NASCAR has long been the business of advertising so it was just a matter of time before political slogans went round and round. Fans are well aware that MAGA slogans were never allowed on cars, but BLM racial sloganeering appeared virtually overnight.
NASCAR is now a liberal controlled sport under the express direction of corporate sponsors. You'll see things you never dreamed. You know what to expect. You know what's coming. The entire industry will aid and abet and look the other way for the almighty dollar.
Sometimes you have to walk away and move on.

Time for some competition for NASCAR incorporating ALL the traditions that institution is abjectly surrendering to the effete SJW's and the politically correct. .

It was inevitable. Any institution that pays leaders or commissioner multi-million dollar salaries is doomed. A shakeout is in process. I have no idea how we will come out of it - better or worse.
