In a striking rebuke to President Trump, the Supreme Court Thursday rejected his plan to repeal the popular Obama-era order that protected so-called Dreamers, the nearly 800,000 young immigrants who were brought to this country illegally as children.
Led by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., the court called the decision to cancel the program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, as arbitrary and not justified. The program allows these young people to register with the government, and if they have clean records, to obtain a work permit. At least 27,000 of these DACA recipients are employed as healthcare workers.

Just watching Fox News John Roberts reporting this. I am outraged that he referred to our President as "The Tweeter in Chief". FOX news viewers should DEMAND he apologize immediately. Who does he think he is that he can use that kind of Language to refer to The President of the United States! I'm done with him. This isn't the first time he's made fun of Trump. Enough!

What part of "illegal" do they not understand? I hope Trump gets 5 appointments in his next term.

John Roberts was a casual, careless appointment of George W. Bush. As time exposes GWB's sloppiness, I regret my support for him.

This case only turned on a procedural matter. Save the outrage for something important.

“The dispute before the Court is not whether [Department of Homeland Security] may rescind DACA. All parties agree that it may. The dispute is instead primarily about the procedure the agency followed in doing so,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority.
Rewrite the procedure and continue.

“ We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies," Roberts wrote. "We address only whether the agency complied with the procedural requirement that it provide a reasoned explanation for its action.“
Either Trump Administration attorneys are unable to produce a proper procedural argument or no matter what the Administration argues, Chief Injustice Roberts would rule against Trump on issues favored by liberals. Would guess that Roberts is hiding behind “procedural” to hide fact that he’s now the 2nd Sotomayor on the Court. With Gorsuch studying Spanish on the quiet.

SCOTUS officially ends law and order in our country. Beginning to think Chief Roberts really is being blackmailed.
Okay then, DACA dreamers can stay. BUT DEPORT every other illegal alien (including their law-breaking parents) immediately!

It looks like Roberts gave a roadmap as to how to stop this program. Trump should use it and end this nightmare

What, no threats by spineless republicans to stack the court if it doesn't rule their way? Roberts did this on the hopes that Trump won't win the election and this will become a moot issue under the sniffer.

My brain thinks of it this way; with the way the Supreme Court has ruled within a week , it nullifies the dems argument that Biden must be voted in to secure the Court. One less get out the vote reason for them....

The Los Angeles Times should be called the Communist Times. Boy are they sure going to be happy for the next couple of days spewing out their Democrat talking points about DACA. As far as Chief Roberts is concerned: what a waste. #7 is right on. Something is fishy about Chief Roberts. Could it be the adoption of his two Irish kids? (It's illegal too adopt Irish kids if you are from another country).

This gives the green light to Obozozs unconstitutional executive action. Nothing better than a Supreme Court that writes congressional legislation from the bench. No separation of power here. The slow death of our Republic is underway.

I would thank the SCOTUS for their 'OPINION', and remind them of separation of power in the Constitution Pres. Trump needs to write an Executive Order forcing those that signed up to this travesty decision, to read the ENTIRE Constitution on TV, Live...just to be sure they know it inside and out. Once they admit they understand it fully there is no excuse beyond that point for them to ignore it.
SCOTUS is NOW interfering in the Executive Authority to administer Laws...or reverse ILLEGAL EO's from Obama.

This is huge. I would rather consider it a little setback, put a happier face on it, or choose to imagine a little roadmap to future victory on this issue. However, there is no way to honestly do that. For conservative Republicans who really believe in the rule of law being applied equally, its always the same problem, isn’t it? Another fake conservative put in as judge, Senator or something else and they protect the Deep State. Who cares if he is being blackmailed, at this point? If he is, he STILL hasn’t the integrity to quit rather than help with the destruction of our Republic.

With this DACA ruling if Joseph Biden is elected in November, he could simply extend an administrative DACA style amnesty to the entire illegal alien population of well over 20+ million illegal aliens by executive order, with this court decision effectively binding future Administrations to that Biden amnesty, by a clearly unconstitutional executive order, by simply ruling that the future Administration did not give good enough reasons under the Administrative Procedures Act to throw out the unconstitutional administrative amnesty contained in the previous Administration’s executive order.
Clearly there are, when you really measure the current Justices, for all intents and purposes, and depending on the individual case, for all intents and purposes six Justices on the Supreme Court will usually rule in favor of the liberal position, anytime politically charged cases come before the court. In contrast the four liberal Justices would never think of voting for the conservative or Republican position. The deciding vote in the DACA case was cast by the Chief Justice, who was nominated to the Supreme Court by the Republican globalist George W. Bush who was pleased as punch to allow as much cheap illegal alien labor as possible into the USA to take American jobs at lower wages then American workers would be paid. Keep that in mind.
DACA was unconstitutional from the get-go, as the US Constitution gives only the Congress the authority to pass the immigration and nationality laws. But that was not how DACA was created, as Obama simply created DACA by Executive Order. For now the Supreme Court, showing their sympathy for the DACA population, simply dodged the Constitutional merits of Obama’s action, and used an administrative technicality to retain DACA for now. If the Supreme Court had ruled on the merits of the case and threw DACA out, such a ruling would have caused the Congress and the President to enter into meaningful negotiations leading to the legalization of a lot of the non-criminal DACA recipients, but with ill considered ruling, such a tailored legislative legalization program is now very doubtful.

This is the second time John Roberts has used this lame excuse to hamstring our President. He did the same thing on the citizenship question in the census.
Both rulings say that it is perfectly legal to do what the administration wants to do, but SCOTUS is in high dudgeon because they didn’t adequately explain it beforehand. No explanation is necessary, the only question is whether the action is constitutional or not. SCOTUS said that in both cases the action is constitutional, but the decision, as written, has the desired affect of monkey wrenching The Donald’s agenda.

If Trump doesn't like SCOTUS rulings he should just do what Obama did. Slow walk, lose paperwork, delay court cases.

They stand up for process when it benefits liberals, but when it might benefit conservatives, they invent legislation. Heads I win, tails you lose. I'm coming to despise Roberts.

Fake News. This is pretty much just a "done wrong" penalty. Do it right, fill out the right paperwork and write up some nice "why we did this" stuff and it is fine.
The Enemedia are having a field day mischaracterizing this ruling.

The headline is a lie.
The court said the procedure needed to be different.
