The takeover of a chunk of downtown Seattle — renamed the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone,” or CHAZ, by one group of far-left protesters, and “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest,” or CHOP, by others — has been treated as a joke in some quarters. It’s no joke. Like it or not, the extreme leftists, social justice warriors, and anarchists are the new face of America’s big, once-great cities, a tragedy in the making. Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said she wants her now-abandoned precinct, taken over by Black Lives Matter protesters, to be reopened under police control. Good luck with that. ". . . returning the land of the autonomous zone to displaced Native American tribes." That will never happen! This bunch of freedom loving, equality driven extremists will have the most brutal "country" ever founded. Why? Because they are evil, and they're liars to themselves and the rest of US about what they truly want. They claim to want equality, but they just want all the stuff and to rule over everything. They don't earn; they just take, but only when they are allowed to take. If someone were to really stand against them, they'd back down like the punk bullies they are. So, they hire the leftist gun org John Brown something to protect them. They simply believe because their side has guns too, that means they win. They're nuts heading straight for a fall, but they don't have a clue. Since BLM protesters took over the police station without a fight from the police, does that mean the BLM protesters are still peaceful protesters?

I lived in LA for 2.5 years. My tires were slashed once, both vehicles broken into, one vehicle broken into and a home invasion/assault and burglary. And I lived in a NICE building with security. One case of stolen identity, the LA riots and several evacuations due to shootings. I couldn't get out of the city fast enough. Ive only ever lived "in" the city once and eill never do so again.

The death will come because instead of just the usual violence primarily inflicted by the unproductive on other unproductive people, the productive people upon whom all depend are now being attacked. They will either go elsewhere to be productive, or cease to be productive. The cities are slitting their own throats. If they follow through on their threats to bring destruction and murder to the productive suburbs and rural areas they will meet forceful resistance. The cowardly upper middle class people who are just fine with the working class and lower middle class suffering and losing opportunity for the privilege of feeling morally superior in their wokeness will change their tune when hell pays a visit to their tree lined culdesac. The liberal elites believe in their superiority not in equality , that's just a facade.

"The damage to our great metropolises will fester for years to come as businesses depart, taking jobs with them, and middle-class residents head for the suburbs or other states, depriving municipal governments of badly needed tax revenues and work for those who remain. Real estate values will plummet." Mayors "give space to riot", then beg businesses to rebuild. But business owners will not decide to rebuild. The CEOs of Walmart, Target, and AutoZone will not decide to rebuild. So who will decide? Lawyers. Lawyers for insurance companies. Extreme risk, extreme insurance costs. No insurance, no building. No building, no business. Begging business owners demonstrates a complete ignorance of how the world actually works. Surprised by ignorant pols? Still?! You're kidding?!

The white liberal intelligentsia live in big cities for philosophical reasons. So they will stay - but will add a few more doorbell cameras and burglar alarms. But the working class and those of modest means will try to flee. The fear of crime and putting up with insane left-wing garbage like CHAZ/CHOP will be too much to deal with.

Yes, the democrat-run big cities are self-destructing. At some point, there will be nothing left for residents, including democrats, so they will move out. Maybe at that point, law-abiding Americans might be able to do something with the remains.

The Capital Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ), is now being rebranded as the Capital Hill Organized Protest (CHOP), and still disgusting as ever. That's a sign of a public relations problem and the pictures are clear enough from journalist Andy Ngo: Besides unsightliness, this "block party" and "summer of love" as it was rapturously called just a few days ago, is also a haven for thugs. As tragic as officer-involved shootings of anyone is, not all of them are worth burning down a Wendy's for. For radical activists and their enablers, this act is getting old fast. The latest incident, in Atlanta, wrought a huge amount of turmoil: Atlanta police units initially responded to a 911 call reporting a suspicious person at Wendy's around 10:30 p.m. Friday. Officers found a man asleep in his car, parked in the drive-thru lane and blocking customers, according to GBI. They reportedly conducted a sobriety test, but when they attempted to arrest the man, identified as 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, a struggle ensued.

With looting black-owned stores starting to become a public relations problem for leftist anti-police protesters, they've returned to their old standby: statue-toppling. As if directed by some Mighty Integral, statues of Christopher Columbus, Robert E. Cecil Rhodes apparently escaped only because the protesters didn't know who he was. The suddenness of this collective madness,

Democrats have met the enemy, and it is the police. Well, not all police. They love the heavily armed federal police at agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency. Just days after George Floyd died in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department, Democrats managed to compile a sweeping police reform bill that would, among other things, limit “qualified immunity” of police officers, lower the limits on what constitutes excessive force, create a national registry of police misconduct, bar the use of “no-knock” arrest warrants, and limit the transfer of military equipment to police departments. Meanwhile, Democrats around the country

The mainstream media would have you think the riots and looting that have erupted across the country are just spontaneous explosions of pent-up anger over the callous killing of a black suspect, at the hands of a blue-city Minneapolis police officer. Well, I've covered a lot of riots - from Indonesia, to Argentina, to Russia, to East Timor, to Thailand, to Venezuela, plus domestic ones in Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco - as a journalist. Dismantling the police, a measure already proposed in Minneapolis, makes about as much sense as eliminating doctors or farmers, and would likewise lead to pain and death. But if there is method to the madness, and I suspect there is in some Machiavellian quarters, it’s perhaps this: Certain leftists want to eliminate the police because they want to become the police. Or, at least, they want their foot soldiers to fill that role. Oh, there are other motivations, too, ranging from raw, misguided passion to formulaic devotion to a perverse leftist creed to wider efforts to destabilize the country.

Sen. Tim Kaine claimed that the United States created the institution of slavery. During Tuesday remarks on the Senate floor, the Virginia Democrat addressed the issue of accountability in police departments but later claimed that the U.S. created the institution of slavery. "The first African Americans sent into the English colonies came to Point Comfort, Virginia, in 1619. They were slaves. They had been captured against their will. But they landed in colonies that didn't have slavery. There were no laws about slavery in the colonies at that time. The United States didn't inherit slavery from anybody. We created it," Kaine said.

We are making an important change today in our writing style. When referring to a culture, ethnicity or group of people from the African diaspora we will use “Black,” with an uppercase B. We are making this change to NJ Advance Media’s style guide to acknowledge and respect the word represents a people with shared cultures and experiences, and not a color. Black, we believe, should be used like other identifiers, such as “Asian,” “Latino” or “African American.” We also will continue to use “African American” in stories when warranted, as “African American” and “Black” aren’t always interchangeable.
