The headline almost nails it and should instead channel Rev. MLK, Jr., "Letter from the Chicago 'Hood."

Another lesson is that the dems, like Lightfoot, are eagerly encouraging and justifying the riots for political purposes. The dems OWN this overreaction. The local representatives SEE the damage being done and know there will be NO coming back from this. Places that riot are NOT economic zones. It is also clear that there are three factions, the peaceful demonstrators, the political zealots, and criminal thugs who are just looking to make a score. Dems are making no discrimination between peaceful citizens expressing a concern and the wackos and thugs. That is because the peaceful demonstrators are not as politically useful. Chaos is the only tool the dems have so they are embracing it.
Almost NO ONE seeing the video of Floyd thinks this is "OK". The president has said this police behavior is NOT acceptable and applauds the peaceful marches. The officers have been arrested and charged and justice is underway. The riots are an overreaction and counterproductive to a legal and rational resolution of this situation.
Meanwhile the local destruction is punishing the people who are already suffering. The theme of the protests is equality and fairness. However, equality is partly based on acceptance that the "other" is seeking similar goals. Americans seeing the behavior of rioting and murder are appalled. Dems leadership providing acceptance and pushing elimination of the police is disgusting. These are NOT the goals or methods that most Americans expect. People rioting and murdering and dismissing law are NOT our equals. They are criminals and domestic terrorists.

The riots are the thing, not the Floyd pretext to draw in the suckers, useful idiots. Protests are soon forgotten, if not ignored. Dime a dozen. Candles and teddy bears. So, it's got to be more dramatic, with great visuals of those "suffering" the hate and oppression, and those who support their struggle to be respected, etc. It's got to get the Karens and Kyles at least tangentially committed to allowing the fix society needs, as advocated by the radicals. That's the game. Has always been the game.

But we are told again and again, that we will be safer when the police are gone.
Does ANYONE actually believe that fairy tale? I doubt it. The police are the first line of defense against the breakdown of civilization. If they are gone, you had better be able to defend yourself effectively, with force. That means both the equipment and the skills. This works better in teams, you had better put together an effective neighborhood defense group if these idiots really manage to get the police out of our lives. If they do it, the result will be a horror show, and lots of blood will be spilled unnecessarily.
Crazy times.

Chicago is a beautiful city. Their politicians have ruined it. Why does anybody feel safe enough to live there much less even visit? This town has become the poster child of corrupt criminal politicians and the highest death rate in any major American city!

Before the Wuhan flu hit, I had planned to take a grand nephew to see U-505 in the museum in Chicago this summer. I had some trepidation of having to go there unarmed, especially when responsible to defend a young family member.
So much for that. Perhaps next year.

Shortly the leftist and liberal Congressional Democrats will be clambering for a huge infrastructure bill to be signed into law to reimburse all the inner city low income and Black “community” commercial businesses that were set afire and looted by all the “White Supremacist” militiamen that President Trump sent to destroy those “peaceful communities” and leave them as “food deserts”.
