After calling for a ban on confederate flags at NASCAR events and donning an 'I Can't Breathe' shirt at Sunday's race in Atlanta, Bubba Wallace, the stock car circuit's only African-American driver, has unveiled a new 'Black Lives Matter' paint job for his No. 43 car ahead of Wednesday's race in Virginia. 'I'm excited about this opportunity to run a "hashtag" BlackLivesMatter car for Martinsville, one of our best race tracks—my best race track for sure,' Wallace said in an interview posted on the Richard Petty Motorsports Twitter page. 'This statement that we have right here that we're about to make, running this race car

Also, what NASCAR wants here is for the audience to boo, and broadcast that on national TV so we can see how racist white people are. I hate when the storylines are so easily predictable.

With civil rights comes civil responsibility.
What are blacks doing to address the real problems in their communities? Some of thyose problems include
* breakdown in the family
* out of control black on black homicides
* gang violence
* drug trafficking and drug use

BLM is funding the DNC but the Dems hate NASCAR... I wonder how this will play out not only with the "virtue signallers" among the drivers and fans, but also with the ultra-left hate society?

What bleeping "Civil Rights" do black people not have in this country!!! They get preference in jobs, for god's sake! A somewhat black man was President for eight miserable years! Why in the hell are they marching around demanding civil rights? They have the same rights as everyone else! They live in some sort of insane fantasy world!

Not a huge race fan, but I do know they sometimes hit each other and anyone perceived as causing a wreck with agressive driving gets vilified. Imagine being a driver who puts Bubba's Race car into a wall.

I thought Bubba was a name for the prison bully….and a nickname for Bill Clinton…?

The founders of BLM:
All three founders of the Black Lives Matter movement are women, and Garza and Cullors identify as queer.[21] Additionally, Elle Hearns, one of the founding organizers of the global network, is a transgender woman.[22] The founders believe that their backgrounds have paved the way for Black Lives Matter to be an intersectional movement. Several hashtags such as #BlackWomenMatter, #BlackGirlsMatter, #BlackQueerLivesMatter, and #BlackTransLivesMatter have surfaced on the BLM website and throughout social media networks. Marcia Chatelain, associate professor of history at Georgetown University, has praised BLM for allowing "young, queer women [to] play a central role" in the movement.[23]

If anyone knows the director of NASCAR, tell him or her that I'll come back to watching the races if they change their name to reflect truth in advertising; I suggest the name POLITICAR and rename all the tracks Social Justice Speedway.

Well there's one race I won't be watching. How NASCAR allows the promotion of a racist organization is puzzling. BLM has partnered wit Antifa and together they have destroyed cities and now NASCAR promotes them. Might as well have a KKK car also. What's the difference. Sickening..

Let me guess, to show how "woke" they are, NASCAR will start giving him a 3 lap head start in all future races to make up for past racism.
When drivers are in cars with all those body suits on, you truly can't tell their races, or even their genders. It's the best drivers that do the best. Sort of the ideal of equality from what I can see.
But I guess that isn't enough for this guy. He has to make sure that everyone knows his race, because some people are "more equal" than others I guess...

-drives though a crowd of fans?

Last night it was around 90-degrees when I decided to have an adult beverage at a local watering hole. After I sat down, I nearly spit out my mouthful of hard cider as I watched ESPN. And apparently, I was the only person in the place who noticed this unintentionally funny image.
There was a black boxer with a "Black Lives Matter" shirt. He had two people, both black, prepping him for a fight. One of the two men had a large "okay" hand gesture printed on his sweatshirt. And we all know what that means according to the P.C. police., don't we?

NASCAR will have to get used to all of those empty seats. Woke is not the NASCAR demographic. If they want to go that route, good luck. I am a fan of law enforcement, not a fan of defunding the police. If NASCAR wants to support the movement to defund police, they will be out of business quickly.

BLM is not a civil organization, so can't talk about civil rights. Power or personal gain achieved through violence will always end in violence.
Bubba Wallace would do better to set a good example for young blacks, instead of embracing violent, antagonistic relationships. Too many young blacks are influenced by the race hustlers.

Iconic car #43, Richard "The King" Petty...don't be looking for anyone to wreck the car. This undoubtedly has NASCAR's blessing and any rough stuff with Wallace will be treated with great prejudice. Don't think the word hasn't gotten around loud and clear. Don't think other sponsors aren't pushing this, too. Any loss of rednecks can be made up in new black fans, or so the thinking goes.

I suspect Bubba will breeze thru Inspection regardless of how illegal his car which will result in his best finish ever... won't be surprised if he has one or two Stage wins and a 2nd place finish... a win would be too obvious even for Nascar altho nothing will surprise me. He started his career in Nascar's "Drive for Diversity" program which was implemented to attract minority drivers and crew members.

It only took 24 hours for cowardly NASCAR officials to cave to the BLM movement after Wallace's Confederate flag comment. Wallace may be well intentioned, but the very act of promoting BLM deprives everybody else of promoting their cause like POLICE LIVES MATTER. NASCAR officials now make themselves another arbiters of American opinion and beliefs and no one else we will be permitted to paint political slogans on their cars that might upset Wallace or BLM. Many believe BLM is racist by its very nature in that it diminishes others. Many fans will be disgusted that NASCAR has become just another politicized sport like football and will simply tune out. Apparently they think they should take the hit now before BLM protests and Antifa show up at races. Intimidation, that's how the liberal world works.

#42, Petty no longer runs things. Petty's company was sold, then did badly, and Petty and two financial guys, one from NYC and one from Canada bought the team back. Petty probably is just a figurehead, my bet, and the NYC and Canadian run the show.

It doesn't matter. NASCAR was ruined 5 years ago with the "Sprint To The Cup" or whatever they call it! Multiple races on race day for points... Yuk!!! If you are going to just turn left, do it for 500 miles and go home! The games ruined the sport! Nobody attends the races anymore as they lost their loyal southern conservative base years ago! Bye boys!

Concerning car #43, Richard Petty and NASCAR have a long history of bad blood based on the Petty's objection to alcohol sponsors. The King was too successful and popular for NASCAR to ignore but both sides tolerate each other with bitter enmity. I kind of think Wallace got the number 43 to spite Richard Petty.

#46 - Since when does NASCAR assign numbers to drivers, or drivers to cars? #43 has been used by the Petty family and successors since 1954. It is currently part of the Richard Petty Motorsports stable. The Bill France NASCAR era is long gone. Any disputes have long fallen away to the big bux involved. Richard Petty, like A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti, is an American racing icon unique to NASCAR. That NASCAR would risk sullying their King's image is an enormous statement.

#48, since when doesn't NASCAR pull strings?
NASCAR and the Pettys may accept their rewards but their bad history
is not forgotten to either from everything I've ever heard.
And Wallace in the iconic #43 is not happenstance, however that number found
its way to that driver, there is an agenda, noble if you want it to be.

The stagecraft on our Great Leap Forward is beautifully paced; no time for the audience to catch its breath and the opposition can't get a word in edgewise! Here, out rolls an actual RACE car. All white drivers must drive with one tire deflated in solidarity or be shunned. Someone should go big and field a car with the roof painted like the old General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard, with a giant battle flag denoting pride in the south.
