NBC News published an op-ed blasting NFL star Drew Brees for criticizing football players who kneel during the national anthem. The op-ed by Noah Berlatsky goes so far as to say that Brees’ “biggest mistake” in defending the American flag was “believing” that it “means anything.”
Brees has been hit with an unprecedented amount of backlash this week after simply saying that he does not agree with kneeling during the national anthem. The New Orleans Saints quarterback said that he views the move as a sign of “disrespect” and shared the story of his military roots.

Like I commented in an earlier post, Drew you're welcome in the republic of Texas. How can NBC make a ridiculous and insulting statement like this and not have at least half of their employees resign because they are patriots. Or perhaps because they have served in the military and spent good years of their lives defending that flag.

"It's better to burn a flag than a person". Why would you do either? Is that a choice that people face? The number of stars, the number of the red an white stripes , their colors...........the staffers at NBC , too lazy and uninterested to do a bit of easy research. This passes for " reporting ".

There is a difference between criticizing someone for their action and saying you do not agree with it. Apparently, we are a nation that can no longer tolerate differences of opinion. The end of this is totalitarianism. I do not believe respecting the flag makes Drew Brees a racist. But if you disagree, I do not disrespect YOU.

Tomorrow is D-Day. Watch Band of Brothers. Yes actors, but they were portraying the horror of what our men went through. Then during the breaks of episodes, switch over to the protests. They'll be at it again!
Drew was expressing his opinion. Those men fought for that right.
Sorry if other sport figures disagree. This past week disgusts me.

One doesn't Pledge Allegiance to the Flag, per se. The Pledge of Allegiance is to the Republic for which it (the Flag) stands. The oh-so-smart morons in the Democrat/Media Complex have no allegiance to anything but power and wealth.

Good advice, it is so bias that it is unwatchable.

Drew should cut his losses and win some blm points by offering to resign if, and only if, Colin K is named his replacement as first string quarterback for the Saints. Mad hilarity would ensue

If it means nothing, why do these unpatriotic game players make such a big deal about kneeling for it?

The "kneelers" maintain that what they do is intended to "raise awareness" and that no disrespect is intended. I would maintain that there are hundreds of ways to raise awareness without disrespecting a symbol of our country and alienating fellow citizens, veterans, and fans. The minute their knees hit the grass during the anthem, my mind becomes completely closed to whatever "awareness" they want to raise, because I am so infuriated by what they are doing. Drew Brees should not walk back a single syllable. There are many who believe as he does.

Drew Brees career has already been ended by the new cancel culture. He just doesn't realize it yet. He can never grovel low enough to obtain forgiveness from those folks.

One of the worst traits of lefties is their overbearing need to demand that others agree with them. NBC apparently has no respect for the flag and they are trying to influence others not to either in their op-ed. They failed yet again. ... They keep trying, but America keeps rejecting leftist tyranny.
God bless the USA, symbolized by Old Glory!

Tomorrow is the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the beaches of Normandy, France. I’m sure that the “greatest generation” of American soldiers who stormed the well defended beaches at H-Hour and sustained thousands of casualties while fighting under the American flag on that day, would not agree with Berlatsky who most likely could not fight his way out of a paper bag. Neither would the “greatest generations” of British and Canadian soldiers who fought under their flags and also sustained thousands of casualties that day.
