Shades of Reagan: Bill Barr vows to employ
1960s anti-riot law on loot-and-riot thugs

I'm already seeing it on Twitter: "Thank goodness we have Bill Barr." Which makes sense. Here's his plan of action on the beasts overtaking our cities under color of civil rights protests, according to the New York Post: Attorney General Bill Barr will go after violent demonstrators with a 1968 law meant to quell rioting. “We must have law and order on our streets and in our communities,” Barr said Saturday at DOJ headquarters in Washington, DC. “It is a federal crime to cross state lines or to use interstate facilities to incite or participate in violent rioting,” he said. “We will enforce these laws.” Barr accused “anarchistic and far-left extremists, using Antifa-like tactics”

Yeah, go get 'em, Barr. When does this talk turn to action, please? We're heading into day seven (no respect even for the Lord's day) of rioting and looting, and we have the names of those who are paying to get the anarchists and terrorists out of jail, including a former VP and current presidential candidate (his people, his money). Will they too be prosecuted?

On the West Coast, you can get arrested for walking into a gym. But if you burn down the gym, the cops will look the other way.

Need to explain what could be happening. #6. My bet that a lot is going on that you will never see or hear with the intelligence people in Justice and IRS. I bet my last dollar that actions are being taken behind the scenes. These are hard working people in the intelligence arena and they maybe working overtime to identify who and what is behind this. Once identified, actions will be taken. These groups can not grow and destroy this country. #8. AG Barr is doing everything right. You should be asking that same question to Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Sessions, and Rosenstein. These groups were growing under the very AGs that I listed and they did nothing to reign in these domestic terror groups. Yes, riots were also going on when these AGs were in office and you did not hear a peep out of any of them.

This would be outstanding and desperately needed. Now! He has, as usual, grounded his actions in law, a federal statute against crossing state lines to "incite or participate in violent rioting". It sure seems like that is happening. Arrests for that will chill other idiots as well. Plus, federal judges are less likely to give slap on the wrist sentences like local judges who impose a small fine or nothing at all. If you are rioting, you deserve jail time. As a side benefit, the Left is trying to undermine Barr as Durham's report approaches completion. If Barr stands strong here, public appreciation will make it very hard to attack him. Of course the dems will try, and fail.

It was the sight of armed National Guard soldiers with bayonets fixed that stopped the horrific Watts riots. There were 34 dead and all the businesses that supported the black community were destroyed. It seems every urban generation must learn the lesson of pooping in their own bathwater.

For days now, since the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Americans have seen riots take over many of our big cities. Countless properties have been vandalized and businesses have been looted and torched — damage that only hurt the neighborhoods of the rioters. But the most disturbing revelation of these clearly organized riots throughout the country has been seeing the thousands of people in all the affected cities who feel they have a right to steal that which does not belong to them. Night after night, we have watched thieving thugs break windows of small and large businesses, charge into them,

KEY LARGO, Fla. — The Florida Keys reopened for visitors Monday after the tourist-dependent island chain was closed for more than two months to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. As the Keys took down barriers, Miami-Dade County decided to keep its beaches closed because of protests in South Florida and across the country over the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Roadblocks were taken down shortly after midnight near Key Largo, the northernmost island in the chain. Almost half of all workers in the Keys are employed by hotels, bars and other hospitality industries, and many of the rest are involved in commercial and sport fishing.
After watching Democrat governors flail,
President Trump steps in to quell the riots

Before Monday, President Trump kept a low profile regarding the riots. He wasn’t invisible; he just wasn’t putting himself front and center. That changed dramatically on Monday. Trump scolded governors who allowed rioters to gain control in their states, announced that he would be mobilizing “all available federal resources” to end the riots in Democrat-run cities, and took a historic walk across the street from the White House (which inflamed the Trump haters). Someone leaked to CBS News audio of a phone call that Trump had with the nation’s governors. In it, in typical Trumpian language, he essentially told them that if they don’t alpha up with the rioters

The riots that began in Minneapolis are the intended consequence of the fake history dished out by our media, Hollywood, and most colleges and public schools for the past 50 years. This new “institutional racism” falsely blames all whites for every injustice -- especially whites who are Christian, Republican or who love America. These whites are the new Jews. Minneapolis is the new Kishinev. In 1903, Kishinev was part of Russia and ruled by an emperor, the Czar. Just before Easter, a non-Jewish girl there was depressed and swallowed poison. She was rushed to a Jewish hospital where she died.

In the aftermath of the Minneapolis riots, the region now risks falling into a perpetual cycle of economic blight similar to comparable urban areas previously scarred by urban mayhem. In the summer of 1967, violent riots erupted and lasted for five days in Detroit, between the city’s black residents and the local police department after law enforcement raided a bar on the city’s Near West Side. Detroit was still recovering from a previous race riot 24 years prior. “It stands to reason that businesses will be far less likely to invest in areas where there's a fear of social unrest. That's presumably the biggest long-run negative effect,

What began as a peaceful protest in Cleveland on Saturday—over the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer— turned violent as the day progressed, prompting Mayor Frank Jackson to issue an 8 p.m. curfew and to request National Guard reinforcements to protect the city from rioters. Corbo’s, a tiny family-owned bakery in the city’s historic Playhouse Square district, took matters into their own hands, brandishing their firearms when rioters came calling. In a video captured by Rob Rash, rioters and looters can be seen approaching Corbo’s Bakery, taunting the owners and threatening them with iron rods and a large pylon with a heavy metal base.

The cider-gulping, mustached-waxed, butterfly-tatted antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters nearly turned their looting and car-burning sideshow into a Dallas-level bloodbath on Saturday afternoon. In 2016, in retaliation for police shootings nationwide, a protester and trained sniper, shot 12 Dallas police officers, killing five. In Seattle, riotous thugs “honored” the memory of George Floyd, who was killed while in Minneapolis police custody earlier this week, by blocking Interstate 5 for most of the day in the busiest downtown portion of the freeway. They looted a Nordstrom store, smashed windows of downtown businesses and set cars on fire. It was part of a nation wide series of riots that began in Minneapolis

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Tuesday questioned how much blame should be directed at Antifa for the violent protests and looting in the wake of George Floyd’s death in police custody. Mr. Graham, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Antifa has played “a part” in the civil unrest. But the South Carolina Republican noted that rioting and looting happened during protests long before the militant anti-fascist group became a movement. “We will try to find out how organized this violence is,” Mr. Graham said. “But I am old enough to remember 1968, and Antifa was not around in 1968, that I know of.”

It is unprecedented for an Acting U.S. Attorney to contradict the solemn representations that career prosecutors made time and again
