It's time for Trump to come out and
take command

President Trump, who put in a stellar leadership performance with the coronavirus crisis - recognizing the danger, rendering aid with record speed, deregulating, leading on the cure, bringing in many players, and unlike the blue-city and blue-state satraps, moving to close the operation as the curve flattened. It was Trump's classic "hotel manager" crisis management at its best.
But something's gone wrong with his strange silence and ineffectual tweets with this crisis. I'm not the only one who's noticed - Daily Wire has an impressive wrapup of this worrisome development here.
Its premise of course is quite twisted. One racial incident in a solid blue city

PDJT, I love you and what you stand for. You have tried turning the other cheek. It didn't work.
If you don't hit back hard you're going to be nailed to the cross. We deplorables have your back.

You have to think long term and back what you are inviting...the deployment of active duty soldiers...so Trump has to go through the cities and states resources first...this is difficult when the Democrat Party is complicit in these riots...if all else fails Trump can call in the 101st and the 82nd like 1967/8....Newark and Detroit....butttttt...the city mayors and governors will have to ask for it...we are not at that point...YET

This article is full of a great deal of emotion and very little in the way of logical, thoughtful, educated advise. I appreciate the sentiment but have to ask, other than being more physically present and reassuring, what legally can President Trump do that he hasn't doeen without being excoriated as a tyrant king? The damned if you do and if you don't scenario is once again in play.
In big cities, governors wait for requests from mayors to send in the National Guard for obvious reasons. Worked fine here but maybe Nashville and the surrounding area are an outlier. I am assuming this same principle applies on the Federal level since technically the military can only be used inside the US to put down "rebellion."
Our military is not a police force. If Democrat mayors in Democrat states hamstring their own police and don't properly utilize their National Guard and State Troopers, I am not totally sure what President Trump can do. We are not a military dictatorship and policing has and always should be a local and state matter.

In reality, President Trump can Constitutionally do little to stop these riots immediately. It is up to the Mayors to ask the Governors to ask him for help. If he just takes over and declares Martial Law, he is screwed. Legally and politically.
All he can do without the Governors asking him, is to investigate and sic the Justice Department on the interstate efforts of the Sorosian and 0bamian organizers and rabble rousers. Which I hope he is doing, although I have little faith that Barr and his minions would actually do anything about it, and even if they do, it would take time.

Trump needs to call out the National Guard with orders to shoot looters without warning.

The left is salivating over the optics of federal troops or federalized National Guardsmen participating in Kent State Redux. Maybe Steven Stills will write another song.

It's called federalism, Monica. In a republic.
Buy a clue. Read the constitution.

These riots are really about nothing; they always are, when you come down to it. But they always get branded as being about some outrage or other. If Trump takes a strong hand, there will be more incidents for the Left to exploit, and the riots will now be officially branded the Trump riots. Just another propaganda headache. Best to let the governors handle them, as our federal system prescribes, and wait for them to burn themselves out, as they always do.

That's what the Democrats are hoping for. Then they can blame him for every death, injury, fire, property destruction. He should offer help to local authorities and protect our federal monuments, the White House and other federal property. But the governors and mayors are ultimately responsible.

The President knows that he has been baited and this rioting is a setup. He knows how Soros operates. Trump will navigate through it just fine.

I don't know about sending in the 82nd? We are a Constitutional Republic after all... But...he can get OFF Twitter and start using the bully pulpit! Talk to the American people in the strongest possible terms! You can't hide in a bunker and tweet like a 6th grade school girl and expect to win an election! Even with Biden as the nominee, you are losing Mr. President! Infiltrate Antifa! Arrest their leaders! Same with BLM! Do SOMETHING besides TWEETS! Good grief! Our Governor in MN looks tougher than you do right now and that is pathetic!!! Because he isn't! It's about perception, sir! Will still vote for you...always...but please be my President again!

Trump is letting the Democrat Governors and Mayors handle things. It is their cities. The left voted for these policies. Shouldn't they reap the benefits? This is what the Democrats have in mind for all of us. Trump is watching them fail, and letting the nation watch it. Look at the media inciting these riots. Look at the Democrat politicians endorsing looting and rioting. I wonder if the Democrats can control their henchmen, because henchmen sometimes turn and lynch their bosses. Good luck with it, Democrats. Democrats now have their 2020 platform: loot and burn the cities down.

All those who are so impatient need to stop and think. A teacher teaches, a tyrant acts otherwise. Trump is no tyrant, contrary to the haters thinking. Trump knows the law as well as most lawyers do, and in this instance, Trump is letting the governors and mayors deal with it, simply because it is THEIR job, not the President's. He only steps in if the legally responsible first responders to this stuff cannot do the job. He is also playing a long game here. He has shown who the anti-American authorities are during these riots, and we can all see who needs to be voted out. Trump has to show beyond a shadow of a doubt, the seriousness of the situation before he can make his move. He is now doing that.
According to articles posted here late last night, Barr has also loaded his ammo bag for bear. This is going to get very interesting. If I understand what I read correctly, Karma is going to bite some democrats extremely hard in their sitting down places. #'s 2-3 have it correctly. Trump legally has to wait for these governors and mayors to ask for help. Have to go through state/local resources first, before activation of Federal response. Trump and Barr know this, but unfortunately, thanks to the slothful Obama, many people have forgotten much about the Law and Presidential responses.

Mr. Trump, don't take the bait. The liberals would like nothing better than Trump send in troops and turn it into a killing war. Every body in the street would represent some poor soul who was just "turning himself around and had a great future to live for until "Trump shot him."
Let the liberals running the cities OWN IT!

Monica, I generally like what you write but knock it off. Any talking head that tells Trump what he "has to do right now" is a blithering idiot. Monica dear, you're like me, not nearly as smart as Trump and have access to about 1% of the information he has access to.

If Trump can do something, I hope he does, immediately. I also thought the governors had to ask for help. However, if Trump declares that there is a domestic terrorist insurrection, maybe he can act. He better have all his ducks in a row however. If he steps outside the law to act, that could be just as bad. The reason the crazies haven't gotten him yet is that he acts within the law. Even though the thugs are not, HE cannot ignore the law. The president has vast powers. Let's hope he CAN use them. We DO need something to be done and the dem mayors and governors are not going to do anything.

These are local problems and need to be resolved by local officials. If the residents of these cities are willing to stand by and let these thugs take over and burn their communities, so be it. The people need to pressure those they elected to run their cities and states to take action, if they don't it's not Trump's problem.

Trump needs to stand a heck of a lot taller. He got rolled on Corona by an agenda drive Fauci and now seems to be cowering in the Whitehouse throwing nasty little tweets at that ridiculous Morning Joe. This country is on fire and we need a leader. It is time for everyone to throw away political correctness and take off those stupid masks. The chips are down Mr. President. Stand up and lead this country away from the brink. Haven’t business owners lost enough!!! MAGA!

A well-constructed address to the nation from the oval office by the President would be in order at this time.

Really dumb idea. Just put a Kick Me sign on his back. These are local police being run by affirmative action police chiefs in socialist cities. It's not a federal issue. I'd rather see locals organizing armed Citizen Protection Committees like the Koreans did during the Rodney King Riots.
