After four long nights without assistance from first responders in the wake of riots and looting after the death of George Floyd, Longfellow residents decided to take matters into their own hands. Many coordinated efforts to block off side streets along this stretch of East Lake Street, using caution tape, saw horses and makeshift barricades to protect residential areas from rioters.(Snip) In Longfellow, Hillary Oppmann watched vandals loot the corner Walgreens for three straight nights without interference before arsonists finally lit it on fire last night. Firefighters didn’t make it to the scene for more than 7 hours. “We can’t lose anymore community assets,

Pretty much a puff piece about how regular people try to protect themselves and theirs. Not much mention of the Mayor and city officials who allowed this to happen.
If the Police can't protect their own station house, how in hell will they protect YOU?

This is the reason even a peaceful person must own a gun, sooner or later the riot will come to you, and the police wont.

Its always been apparent how pathetic our governing leadership is, but even more so now with the handling of the riots and the pandemic. By November, everybody is going to see it. its clear that anarchists have been egging on the black community to riot for decades, and it is way pass time for them to wise up. Our government is suppose to protect us. WHERE ARE THEY? It turns out many of them are siding with the anarchists. The Democrats call the anarchists 'white supremacists'. The Republicans call then Antifa. If the white supremacist label becomes synonymous with anarchy and Antifa, I'm fine with that. Antifa and the anarchists are mostly white, and they sure as hell do not have the welfare of the black community as their priority.

When the shooting starts....the looting stops.
Having demurred for several days may necessitate some remedial and educational vollies en mass.

Can you make this stuff up?
Here's Minneapolis Mayor Moron's message in full, issued May 28, personally posted direct from his high school sophomore homeroom desk, after several days/nights of rioting!
"We need to offer radical compassion and love that we all have in us. I believe in this city and I know that you do, too."
”The city urges everyone to exercise caution and stay safe while participating in demonstrations, including wearing masks and physical distancing as much as possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The city has made hundreds of masks available to protesters this week."
Isn't he just the sweetest little thing? He's soooo cute. And, so COMPASSIONATE!
ALL the leftist ladies love him.

And they say there is "no legitimate need for an AR-15 rifle" and NORMAL capacity 30 round magazines.
It is painfully obvious that they are necessary in this exact sort of situation.
And not only are the "leaders" not protecting people, they are pulling back the cops and basically protecting the rioters. You are on your own out there, people. Better be armed.
You have exactly as much security as you brought with you.

Sometimes leftists (the uppahUS is full of 'em) can only learn a lesson at the school of hard knocks. In this case they're learning about bad government and how the Second Amendment can rectify that problem. When seconds count, the police are only days away.

If the criminal rioters lead by anarchists and leftist elements show up in the residential areas and towns where the “deplorables” reside and try to do their thing, that’s when the real threats to their lives will quickly emerge!
They can't say that President Trump did not warn them.

While not in an area where riots are, I think it's time to take the trigger lock off my revolver and load it. No kids around here, so it shouldn't be a problem there, but I decided I want to be ready in case. I don't want to have to waste time preparing in an emergency. Five in the cylinder and a speedloader ready, but three or four bodies should deter the rest.

FTA:Longfellow Market, now boarded with plywood, is one of the few remaining grocery stores — after Target, Aldi and Cub Foods fell...
Now there will be cries about a 'food desert' because all but a small local market have been destroyed. I wouldn't blame the other stores for abandoning their smoldering lots forever.

If they come to our neighborhood, track shoes and an ability to exceed 3,200 ft. Per second will come in handy. 6 30 rounders loaded and more available in stock! We are ready to Stand Our Ground!

Anyone who questions the 2nd amendment from now on is gonna get a face full of videos from THIS week from now on. I can't imagine being an unarmed sitting target right now.
This was driven home to me last night when Antifa driven rioters started torching out city hall and court house here in Nashville and then started vandalizing and looting downtown businesses.
Many businesses were left unharmed BECAUSE they had hired guns inside and the owners, like Steve Smith of Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, are armed to the teeth and said so. Looters and vandals beware! Not one window broken in those businesses.
The police, God love them, they don't deserve the abuse heaped on them yesterday by that pack of rabid dogs that tried to storm the downtown Nashville precinct. They have enough to deal with when this kind of crap hits the fan. There is no way they could help civilians last night.
WE HAVE to take care of ourselves. Own firearms (plural). Learn how to use them. Needless to say, living right across the river from downtown, we were and are prepared and no one is going to hurt our family. All Americans should demand this God given right and use it to protect themselves and their loved one. If there is any lesson from this madness, it should be just that.
Oh and btw, since marches and protests are cool with our Democrat mayors, no social distancing, no masks, Covid lockdown crap and all the Fauci bots can shove it! You showed your hand. Good luck ever getting us to trust you again.

Doesn't help matters when an prosecutor named Amy Klobuchar refuses to prosecute certain crimes, then we see the results of her lack of action. And she wants to be VP of the country? Don't think so Amy.

My nephew, who lives in Columbia, SC called to chat yesterday afternoon, and to let me know that he, and his wife and infant are safe and sound. In the course of the discussion, on many topics, he mentioned how he was :in a nice safe neighborhood, not too close to the rioters, and besides, I have a shotgun".
And we did a bunch of clay bird shooting at Thanksgiving at his mother's house in the country. He's really pretty darned good with a shotgun. The rioters don't want to try him on, for sure.
I need to look into getting him an AR-15 for Christmas next year.

So the first response from your city government is YOYO. You're On Your Own.
Keep that in mind when election time rolls around.

How about those "heroic" first responders now? Fire trucks have powerful fire hoses, drown the rats. Firemen have axes, cut them up.

A 12 gauge tac-14, a PPS43C in .30 Tokarev, a Mossberg 500 and a Ruger .357 all loaded and accessible. Dont want the AK/AR/FAL types right away as they do tend to penetrate walls. Dont want to bother the neighbors. Heavier available if needed.

When push comes to shove, we're all on our own. Doubly so when state and local leaders side with the rioters who want to tear it all down.
