Esteban Loaiza, onetime Yankees
pitcher, blew through his $44M
fortune before cocaine bust: report

Esteban Loaiza spent 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, which included a stint with the New York Yankees in 2004, and he made nearly $44 million in his career. The now 48-year-old is in the Seattle-Tacoma Federal Detention Center, his money long gone, serving three years in prison for felony cocaine possession with intent to distribute. Loaiza’s downfall apparently stemmed from a lavish lifestyle, which included generous gifts to family members long after his moneymaking days in baseball were over, according to a Bleacher Report article published Thursday.

Most of it would have gone to taxes. Andrew Cuomo got a huge chunk of it. What did he spend it on?

Aside from the fact that Loaiza was a stupid jock who blew all his millions up his nose, the only thing remotely newsworthy is how he's portrayed as a Yankee-even though he played for them for only 1/2 a season!

It's an old story -- sudden and immense wealth to someone who hasn't the intelligence or character to contend with it. Lottery winners, sports, music, and movie stars, even old-fortune heirs like Barbara Hutton, who all thought all their problems were over when they were really just beginning.

Joe Biden needs a running mate. The presumptive Democratic nominee for president has spent the pandemic campaigning on his own, usually from his basement. Frequent blunders, glaring lapses in memory, and even saying during an appearance on The Breakfast Club, "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or for Trump, then you ain't black," are enough to make a supporter cringe. It's not a good look. In March, Biden announced that he would select a woman as his running mate. The pandering was exhausting from Day One. Add onto that Stacey Abrams's never-ending crusade to be chosen by Biden, and what may have been

Joe Biden’s questionable competence demonstrates Democrats’ unquestioned faith in the Swamp. Biden’s recent mega-gaffe was just further evidence that his supporters do not expect Biden to govern the government; they expect the government to govern him. Therefore, their nominee not being up to the presidency is not a negative, but a positive, to Democrats — it guarantees he will not get in the way. On a recent Friday, as we know, Joe did it again, launching this immortal doozy on The Breakfast Club radio show: “I tell you if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

That’s it?! Transcripts of the infamous calls between Michael Flynn and then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak reveal what was already known: The conversations between an incoming administration official and a foreign representative weren’t treason, they were perfectly normal. The Obama administration had just sanctioned Russia for its meddling in the 2016 election. Flynn is requesting that Kislyak lobby to keep Russia’s response “reciprocal” because he didn’t want things to escalate — particularly in the fresh days of new leadership. Funny how the liberal media didn’t think there was anything wrong with President Barack Obama making a similar plea to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in the run-up to the 2012 election;

President Trump is raising a completely legitimate concern that an unprecedented expansion in the use of mail-in ballots in the 2020 election could lead to voter fraud. But that has not stopped his critics from declaring his statements to be false. Really? In 2012, before mail-in voting became a partisan political litmus test, the New York Times published an article titled “Error and Fraud at Issue as Absentee Voting Rises.” The piece noted that “there is a bipartisan consensus that voting by mail … is more easily abused than other forms,” and that “votes cast by mail are less likely to be counted, more likely to be compromised

Joe Biden says "The Breakfast Club" host Charlamagne tha God was "baiting" him leading up to his controversial "you ain't black" remark during their interview last week. The presumptive Democratic nominee was pressed Friday by CNN anchor Don Lemon on what kind of "leader" he would be as president for black Americans in the wake of his May 22 comment and, this week, his sentimental response to the tragic death of Minneapolis man George Floyd. "The leader I've always been," Biden told Lemon.

His initial open date in March had to be pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic. He was ready to finally open his doors in June, but that plan came to a crashing halt when rioters destroyed his business on Wednesday. Richard Grenell, who shook up the intelligence world in just three months as acting director of national intelligence, used his first interview since stepping down to blast Washington’s insider culture of protecting itself and ruining outside reformers. In a 19-minute interview on the Mark Levin Show, the longtime public servant who recently was ambassador to Germany said that the political-media axis in Washington is toxic and geared to thwart reforms that threaten its operation. “An outsider coming in with fresh eyes is like the enemy because you’re going to look at things differently,” he told the popular conservative talk radio host and author. True, we have not even elected him president yet, but isn’t it already time to start dismantling Joe Biden’s presidential library? After all, he has a long history of supporting white supremacists and just being an all-around racially insensitive, privileged white geezer. To be fair, Mr. Biden did not invent the Democratic Party or its racism. But for nearly 50 years he has knowingly and willingly associated himself with and supported the causes of the Democratic Party, known throughout history for its association with white supremacy.

Many human activities were curtailed in America during Memorial Day weekend due to the Wuhan coronavirus. However, murder in Baltimore, Chicago, and Washington D.C. weren’t among them. In Baltimore, there were eight killings over the weekend, even though residents were under orders to stay home due to the pandemic. Four additional people were injured in the shootings. According to police, several of the victims had previously been convicted of attempted murder. In a properly functioning justice system, these victims would have been incarcerated. Chicago topped Baltimore. It suffered nine killings, with 27 more wounded, over the weekend. This was Chicago’s deadliest Memorial Day weekend since 2015.

This week, for the first time, Twitter “fact-checked” one of President Trump’s opinions and redirected users to coverage from that paragon of fairness and objectivity, CNN (don’t laugh). Twitter announced the introduction of the new feature earlier this month. The goal, two workers wrote, is to “make it easy to find credible information” and to stanch the flow of “misleading content.” But I wonder: Will the platform also append “fact-check” labels and links to tweets from prominent liberals that also turned out to be “misleading” or outright false?
