Fauci: Data shows no evidence
hydroxychloroquineis effective
at treating coronavirus

Original Article

Posted By: Zarin, 5/27/2020 5:11:45 PM

Anthony Fauci on Wednesday said there's no evidence that shows the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine is effective at treating COVID-19. "Clearly the scientific data is really quite evident now about the lack of efficacy for it," Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease doctor, said during a CNN interview. Fauci said evidence also shows the likelihood that the drug can cause severe irregular heart rhythms. "There was suspicion of that for a while, but as data comes in, it becomes more clear," Fauci said. The pronouncements mark Fauci's strongest warnings yet against the drug and puts him at odds with President Trump, who has embraced the drug as a "game changer" and a "miracle."

Comments:

Tell that to France, Italy & India! What data? And who interpreted it? Is this the death knell for a cheap effective cure? Is he a little tin pot dictator entrenched in the bureaucracy? His $1200 wonder drug from Gilead Pharm has fizzled as far as I know. From what I have been reading HCQ used early on will kill the virus and prevent the inflammatory response that kills most of the people that die of it. Heck - even 1500 mg of aspirin with honey & lemon may cure the stuff!

There is no evidence if you ignore all studies that are not run by the CDC, you ignore any studies that include the drug in combination with zinc and azithromycin, and you prevent the CDC from running any studies.

Why is Dr. Fauci acting as if he knows nothing about the effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine? Surely, Dr. Fauci was aware of the research published through NCBI back in 2005, and he made no effort to condemn its use then. The Virology Journal is officially published through the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and is part of the United States National Library of Medicine, a branch of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Anthony Fauci, an immunologist, has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984. “Chloroquine, a relatively safe, effective, and cheap drug used for treating many human diseases including malaria, amoebiosis, and human immunodeficiency virus, is effective in inhibiting the infection and spread of SARS CoV in cell culture. The fact that the drug had a significant inhibitory antiviral effect when the susceptible cells were treated either prior to or after infection suggests a possible prophylactic and therapeutic use.“

So suddenly, a drug which has been used safely, widely, and as common practice has an unknown history? It's dangerous? It has these side effects? All out of nowhere? Surely this has nothing - nothing at all! - with Fauci having a drug that's 2000 times more expensive per dose, does it?

This whole HCQ thing may be trivial but I see it as potential evidence of lives being sacrificed on the alter of the democrat party and or special interest. When allegedly scientific people differ 180 ° something is up. Somebody is not telling the truth so the quick bet on who it truthful goes to whomever doesn't stand to make a crapload of money. I could be wrong but there's less money to be made in HCQ so my bet, it works. Then throw in the Trump factor and I'll double down. We really do need to face up to the fact that the left lies to us all the time, big lies.

Not so in other countries. My one single data point from a friend who works in a local hospital says that one doc tried it when a patient was very sick and "nothing else was working"....and the patient was very much improved in 24 hrs. In the long run, his opinion will be overridden by the truth. He may be right, he may be wrong. Many disagree with him now.

That "gentleman," Dr. Fauci, has a vested interest in hydroxychloroquine NOT being effective. If only we had a free, unbiased press, they're investigate him, his outside interests and his patents, and then report that. IMO, anyone with a career in government, in ANY capacity, has to be investigated before he can be taken so completely at face value.

Notice he never says anything about hydroxychloroquine and ZINC. Without Zinc, you have a gun but no bullets. Meanwhile he is all hot to trot over the drug he has control over, remsvidir. Hydroxychloroquine and zinc is curing thousands if not millions of people. Fauci doesn't give a damn about you, he just wants to build his own little empire. He is the worst representative of the deep state. Meanwhile you ca use COQ-10 and zinc to do the same thing as hydroxychloroquine and zinc. , says Dr. Alan Greene. The COQ10 opens up the cell membrane to the zinc ions, which then prevent the virus replication. Is Dr. Fauci criminal, or just stupid? History will judge.

These days you can craft a lie so that it isn't technically a lie. It is a partial truth that conveys the lie the speaker intended, but if caught they can say, 'well this part is true and that's what I meant.' This guy is a slippery liar. Pretty bold faced about it many times. Considering the damage he has done and all the direct and indirect deaths he has caused from this crisis, he should be thoroughly investigated. Can he explain all the conflicts of interest he seems to have? He really owes all of us testimony under oath about his part in causing the shutdown and his part in hindering therapies like this. This guy has a ton of baggage.

#31. Thanks for the link. That article has been cited in numerous current articles from NIH. Link below. Clearly HCQ has shown enough positive effects on the virus that one would think it should be the source of optimism as an inexpensive and widely available treatment. Sorry, doc, but the American Journal of Epidemiology just proved you wrong: https://academic.oup.com/aje/advance-article/doi/10.1093/aje/kwaa093/5847586 The FDA, AMA, NIH and CDC, in my estimation as a physician for over 35 years, borders on the criminal in their steadfast opposition to a simple, cheap and safe treatment that could have saved hundreds, if not thousands. Their stance is much like condemning Tamiflu, a treatment for influenza that only is effective if given early, as worthless because if it is given late it has no effect. This is purely political and shameless in its disregard for human life.

I've seen the data, and HCQ+Zn is about 98-99% effective if the "VA data" (HQC given to critically ill patients) is discarded. Fauci recently promoted "statistically significant results" of a remdesivir study, showing only a 3% improvement in outcome vs. no drug. Follow the money. There is no money to be made in prescribing HCQ. Remdesivir is given intravenously at more than $1000 per dose. The whole treatment course using HQC is less than 20 bucks.

Dr. Faucci is making the logical error of inducing from the specific to the general. There is some evidence that in patients with advanced disease with severe underlying cardiovascular risk and diabetes type II that HCQ is ineffective or may be harmful. We also know that NO anti-viral is effective at this stage. We also know that the disease changes its nature at around day 7 to 9. Prior to that THERE IS A LOT OF EVIDENCE that HCQ regimens work. To make such erroneous conclusions suggests that Dr. Faucci is not a scientist and that Dr. Faucci is well past his prime and needs to be retired.

Because city homes are not set back from property lines like rural areas, people walk on sidewalks into the house across carpets and floors where the young children play. They have never in my limited scope, addressed shoes or vectors mosquitoes rodents cockroaches Etcetera. This should have been done early on. Next they never specified what communities/countries the models were based on, if it was China then China is over populated, malnourished, polluted, a sepsis and is LOCKED DOWN.

I survived the worst malaria known to man in the jungles of Vietnam. I arrived at the Naval hospital in DaNang weighing 114 lb, body temps of 105 for two days, dysentery, ruptured spleen, brain damage, kidney damage and really sick. "shown no real benefit for hospitalized coronavirus patients". The KEY is 'Hospitalized'. Catch it early and Hydroxy + zinc apparently works pretty good. India and lots of other 'third-world' places have a MUCH lower death rate than the USA. But... Wait until the person is in the hospital, especially if they are already on a ventilator....and it's too late. This study was of people already in the hospital, already very, very sick. It looks to me to be malicious, biased incompetence at best, with deliberate fraud more likely.

Harvard psychology professor Steven Pinker said Thursday that the push for reopening society from lockdowns comes from Christianity’s “malignant delusion” of belief in an afterlife. Atheists who believe in this life alone are more concerned with health and safety, Professor Pinker suggested in a Tweet, while Christians tend to devalue “actual lives” and live a riskier existence. Belief in an afterlife is a malignant delusion, since it devalues actual lives and discourages action that would make them longer, safer, and happier. Exhibit A: What’s really behind Republicans wanting a swift reopening? Evangelicals. https://t.co/ppo2bwiVGn — Steven Pinker (@sapinker) May 21, 2020

TUCSON, Ariz. - In a letter to Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) presents a frequently updated table of studies that report results of treating COVID-19 with the anti-malaria drugs chloroquine (CQ) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ, Plaquenil®). To date, the total number of reported patients treated with HCQ, with or without zinc and the widely used antibiotic azithromycin, is 2,333, writes AAPS, in observational data from China, France, South Korea, Algeria, and the U.S. Of these, 2,137 or 91.6 percent improved clinically. For the first (and probably last) time in living memory, the whole world seems to care about the domestic policy of my plucky little home country. Sweden’s approach to dealing with coronavirus has been hailed by some, but the majority of commentators seem to think we’re conducting some kind of heartless and dangerous experiment.
