On Tuesday, Texas may have created the anti-lockdown movement’s first martyr when a Dallas judge sentenced hairstylist Shelley Luther to a week in prison for the crime of trying to provide for her own and her employee’s families.
Texas is home to 28,995,881 people. It’s had 32,879 diagnosed Wuhan virus cases (that is, 0.11% of the population got diagnosed) and 890 virus deaths (0.003% of the population). Most of the cases are linked to nursing homes or people with co-morbidities. Even in nursing homes, though, things needn't be so dire. One doctor’s experiment shows that early intervention with the hydroxychloroquine cocktail can result in a 92% successful treatment rate.

And a swat team backed up by a huge tactical vehicle and a dozen or so law enforcement types were sent to shut down a bar in West Texas. I am SEETHING.

AND the speech by the judge!!! That just sent me over the edge. That fat cat paycheck rolling in completely safe tin pot despot telling this poor business woman she should be ashamed and she should apologize.. if steam could indeed come out of ears, it would have been coming out of mine. She stood firm, God bless her!! This was a miscarriage of justice, a total waste of tax payer dollars. The whole establishment that made this happen should be tarred and feathered then run out of town on a rail!

The irony is delicious that in some places the State releases rapists and pedophiles from incarceration for fear they will contract the virus while in other places the State puts housewives into incarceration because they protested the home incarceration imposed on them by the State.

They most certainly did. This woman is my hero. I was watching a live stream as it happened and was outraged. I left the governor a message. It wasn't nice. Her shop is in a strip mall with a dog grooming and quilt business which were allowed to open for business. What really adds insult to injury is the fact that they are releasing REAL criminals while locking up a law abiding hair stylist who just wants to keep her business going and keep paying her employees. She even took measures to make sure everything was sanitized and was observing their stupid social distancing rules. May we all be inspired by her and support her, it's so very important.

This is all about obedience to Power and has nothing to do with public safety. This is precisely why we the people are better off by surrendering as little power to government as possible.
But half of our neighbors want more power in the hands of the likes of Judge Moye.
The cattle rancher has compassion for the stray he rounds up, not so with the herders of human livestock.

She should appeal. These "orders" by the state and local government are not laws, let alone criminal laws.

If Obama had mentioned the hydroxychloroquine cocktail before President Trump, he would be awarded a 2nd Nobel Prize along with an Academy Award, a Grammy and a Pulitze for the lives saved. Unfortunately for the thousands who have died wifhouf being given this cocktail simply because Trump hoped the malaria drug worked, life and death in America is determined by politics, not science. Which is why abortion clinics are open while elective surgery is stopped.
Perhaps a Dr. Fauci award can be created to identify (not honor) those in the CDC and MSM who opposed whatever Trump suggested no matter how beneficial the drug(s). Speaking of Dr Fauci, he opposed the hydroxychloroquine cocktail because it lacked a controlled test. Has such a test been done or sufficient anecdotal results been collect? Or will the cocktail be recommended only after Fauci retires and endorses Biden?

This poor woman does NOT have ‘her own concept of liberty’ as the judge states. This judge is most definitely guilty of that. The majority of governor imposed dictates during this manufactured crisis are unconstitutional on their face. It was very disappointing to see how many citizens were instantly cowed by this power mad rampage. I am exceedingly grateful and humbled by the salon owners willingness to stand up for her rights. She serves as an example.

God bless this woman. To me she sounds--------------------------American.
She would have been aboard when the folks in Boston threw the tea overboard.
Now for Dr. Fauci, he doesn't like hydroxychloroquine which has been around for years with little side effects and costs about a buck, but he likes Remdisivir which is new, China has the patent (the same people who gave us the virus) and George Soros and Bill Gates have a monetary investment in, and costs a thousand times more. Say What?//

No offense to all our great Texas conservatives, but I'd rather see Texas turn blue than see it turn yellow. Time to cowboy up out there. Get this brave lady the heck out of her ridiculous situation. It's Alamo time all over again.

What is the name of the Judge; full names of each County Commissioner, location of the detention center. Ask each one of them if ''I was just following orders.'' Shelley Luther is my new hero. If Gov. Abbott has a pair, he should have her sentence vacated, even though she has probably already served it and her fines forgiven. I am usually a Law & Order guy, and I hate to say it but the little ole municipal judge seemed to be quite full of himself.

Dallas DEMONRAT Judge Moye of the 14th District Court did this--NOT Texas.
He has a republican opponent in November--Jessica Voyce Lewis.... time to replace this self-righteous IDIOT.
Ms. Luther's peaceful, non-violent, civil disobedience is an example to all of us!

The judge showed real common sense didn't he. Instead of jail, he should have sentenced her to community service such as doing Dallas jailed women inmate's hair for a week free of charge at her establishment. No other customers. But the judge acted as if he was brain dead.

Dallas Civil District Judge Eric Moyé, 14th Civil District Court, Dallas County, Texas; J.D., Harvard Law School, 1979.
It seems like every time I read or hear of an incident of blatant tyranny in this country, there is almost always some connection to that damnable institution, Hahvahd University.
Why is that?
When appropriate, I think that Hahvahd Yahd would be a most excellent location for the erection of The Official Guillotine of United States of America. A shorter walk for the convicted (following a fair trial in a court-of-law in accordance with the Constitution, of course. We are not Demoncrat Stalinists, after all.)

I know Abbott's unfortunate accident took his legs. Didn't realize it took his balls, too. I'm out of charity. His response to this has been tepid, weak, and passive. He's done if he doesn't completely pardon her.

Currently the political positions of both the Democrats and the Republicans are set. The Democrats want to keep the US economy shutdown for as long as possible believing that tactic will cause President Trump to be defeated in the upcoming General Election with some claiming that the economy must stay closed until a COVID-19 vaccine is developed sometime in the future. The Republican position is to re-open the US economy as prudently and safely as possible knowing that the country cannot survive if the economy is shutdown indefinitely.
While that has been going on the 24/7 media has been engineering their reports to panic and scare as much of the US population as possible, already having caused a run on toilet paper, and now are attempting to cause a meat panic that is bound to cause hoarding of meat, and a meat shortage at the retail level.
No doubt that particular Dallas Judge is a liberal Democrat who is following the current Democrat political position of trying to keep the economy shutdown, and has now done his bit by putting that small business owner in jail for opening up her hair salon. Something tells me that his action was not the last court action that will occur in this lady’s case.

Take it easy on the Governor. He can't pardon someone for committing a crime when no crime was committed. The crime was committed by Da Judge who exceeded his authority. The Fifth Amendment says no one shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. How can you convict someone of a crime without a violation of a law?
