Like most people, I cannot know for sure what actually happened between Joe Biden and Tara Reade many, many moons ago, or, for that matter, what may have once transpired between Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford. No one knows for sure but the individuals (and/or eyewitnesses) themselves, and memories of long-ago encounters may not be sharp — or may become vivid in one person’s recollection and utterly vague in another’s. If I were asked to detail an incident that happened a quarter-century ago, absent serious trauma, I’d be completely stumped. There’s a reason for statutes of limitation. And a reason that in a liberal society an individual

Allinsky's... 'RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”
Also, as soon as it's clear just how much ovomit and hitlery were involved in the coup attempt, we need to scream loud and long that...'no one is above the law.'

OK, I stopped when Sullivan said "eyewitnesses" in relation to the Kavanaugh lies.
There was not one witness who could EVER place Kavanaugh and Ford in the same location, as far as was heard. Possibly, they were in the same school building at some time, but even that was never proven.
Ford's allegations had ZERO substance - no date, no time, no place, NOT EVEN A YEAR, and not one single person who ever remembered Ford at a party with Kavanaugh --EVER.
Sullivan is full of beans making even the remotest trace of an equivalency between a pure fabrication and an accusation which has at least, time, place, known association, multiple person told about events at the time.

He details Biden's despicable hypocrisy, says Biden should resign, and concludes by saying he will vote for Biden anyway. Yep, he's a liberal.

The way we determine who to believe is to look at the circumstances of the accusation, the credibility of the accuser and accused, and the motives each party might have to lie. Unlike Blasey Ford, Tara Reade was specific in the circumstances, the documented fact that she worked for Biden and had frequent contact with him, the day, time, and acts that occurred, and the fact that these were independently corroborated by others she told at the time. The fact that her mother called Larry King about the incident is contemporaneous confirmation of her story.
Tara Reade has lead a normal responsible life, is not described by anyone of being a liar or making false charges about others for neurotic personal reasons. Joe Biden, on the other hand, is a professional politician who has denied or obfuscated numerous actions that were found to be true including his dropping out of a presidential run for plagiarism. Tara Reade did not use blackmail or other subterfuge to leverage her charges for personal gain but made them publicly because of a sense of responsibility about his impending candidacy. She has no reason to lie and is taking enormous risk coming forward with this. Joe Biden has a significant reason to lie and refuses to allow his public Senate papers to be examined for corroborating evidence. His use of the phrase, "This never happened" suggests a conflict in his consciousness between what he knows and what he must say.
Given the facts in evidence and the relative motives of the people involved a reasonable person must find her story to be more credible than his denial. This can not be said of the vague and uncorroborated suppressed memories of Blasey Ford in the Kavanaugh case.

This idiot has to be a democrat. As soon as he mnentioned Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford that was it, end of story. They are not even close That Christine Blasey Ford was a total fraud. No one, not one person could back up her story. Even her best friends said they never heard of it. There's not a democrat on this planet with an ounce of honesty in their system. Got it..

Shook my head for a minute. The headline used the words Biden and standards in the same sentence. Then I saw it was New York Magazine.

I was driving down I95 all day with the radio on and I listened to the interview.
Remember, during the Clinton administration, how we learned to parse the words of demonrat politicians? Well, one thing about Biden’s statements jumped out at me. He kept saying, “It never happened.” as if he was at a remove from the assault and could have been talking about almost anything. He never said, “I didn’t do it.” Which makes me think more than ever that he DID do it, he knows he did it and he’s trying to set up some form of deniability.

Exactly. Joe may have thought that Tara Reade looked like she was twelve years old and acted accordingly. Did he smell her hair while he was, you know?

I saw the denial. An innocent person would be just plain spitting mad to be falsely accused. He would certainly question the accuser's motives for damaging him and his family and he'd want to get to the bottom of things with a complete investigation. Kinda like Brett Kavanaugh in front of the senate when he had his say. Biden did none of that. Didn't question her motives. Didn't attack her. Just please lets make it go away...

Andrew Sullivan's bottom line, from the article: he'll still vote for Biden.
"Biden does mean I’ll be voting for a hypocrite who wants to ruin others’ young lives for what he has routinely and with impunity done. I can live with that, I suppose. And it won’t, of course, be the first time. Or, in all likelihood, the last."
Because Trump!
