A Democratic Georgia state lawmaker has many wondering if he is going to #WalkAway from his party after his abrupt decision to step down.Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones announced Wednesday that he has “left the plantation” and would not be completing his term, making the surprising statement just more than a week after declaring that he was endorsing President Donald Trump.(Video) “I’m sick and tired of me and my family being attacked and harassed by the Democrat Party for putting my country before my party,” Jones said in a statement to CBS 46 in Atlanta.“I take pride in being an independent thinker. My first amendment right to freedom of speech

That's a shame. He should have stayed on an changed parties, I would imagine he would have been welcomed.

Woke huh ?
Personally #1 I disagree with politicians changing parties. If you were elected by Democrats (or Repubs) you should represent them. On the other hand if you want to quit and run for election again, no problem.

Congratulations to Rep. Jones. Only people who think for themselves can find a way out of this morass (or help others find it). More power to him.

The Dims invented racism and taught it to Hitler. Now they’re threatening a man’s family for daring to have an unapproved opinion.

I can respect his resignation instead of just changing parties. But I hope we can win his long-term support even after Trump.

Exactly what I thought would happen. He said he did NOT plan to change parties. I thought the dems would drive him out. The party of "inclusiveness" strikes again.
“left the plantation” is exactly right. What did he expect? Dems have bought and paid for Blacks many times over. They expect their property to behave and not get "uppity".
I'm sorry for him but it is an object lesson to Blacks about how the dems view them and frankly ALL members of the party. Do as we expect you to or you will be ostracized.

Slightly off topic but I think this is why Jones approves of Trump.
Think about it. Trump is the greatest labor President we have ever had.
He has created more jobs at a faster rate than any other President.
If we had had Trump instead of FDR we would never have had a Great Depression.
The other Presidents that supposedly care about labor really only care about labor leaders
and union funds donated to their campaigns.

Jones has been declared that he is no longer black by black Democrats. He is now white!! Cannot go off the Democrat plantation without consequences.

Mr. Jones, you would be welcome in the party of Trump. The only requirements are to put your country first, to think for yourself, and say what you think. Instead of being told what to think, what you can say, and that everything the party's leadership says must be obeyed. Lincoln may have freed the slaves but apparently the democrats have found a loophole.

Who do you suppose his next visitor will be to put him back on the liberal path ?
