California will be the first state to send money to illegal immigrants who did not qualify for assistance under the $2.2 trillion federal coronavirus stimulus package passed last month. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday announced the allocation of $75 million in taxpayer funds for $500 payments to 150,000 adult immigrants who are reeling from the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. “We feel a deep sense of gratitude for people that are in fear of deportations that are still addressing essential needs of tens of millions of Californians,” said Newsom.

Since California has funds to spare, they shouldn’t mind if we direct $75 Million in Cali aid to somewhere else - like Alabama or Florida. Seriously. Money is fungible. They in effect are having the Federal taxpayers nationwide fund their pernicious scheme.

This is the perfect scam. These so-called ‘non profits’ get the money and the illegals have nowhere to complain about where it went. It’s one thing to be an ignorant social justice warrior ambling around kicking up dust on the sidewalk. It’s totally another to be a flaming fool in charge of spending other people’s money in a State the size of California.

Have you ever had a Democrat family member, or close friend, who you tried your best to convert? It can't be done. They simply are part of the Party because.....they don't really know why, but they just are!! Nothing Trump does is good and everything that Pelosi does is just fine with them. It's why most Republicans don't talk Politics at family dinners or Parties where Democrats are joining them. It's a waste of time! So, that explains why so many in California elected a Democrat and think that what is happening in CA is perfectly okay!

This is why Trump's tax plan that limits your Federal deduction for the State taxes you pay, makes sense. If California wants to overtax it's citizens to pay for things like illegals (who WILL be sending much of those tax dollars 'home' to Mexico and elsewhere via those wire transfers) it should NOT be a charge that can be used to lessen taxes owed to the Fed - the rest of the nation at large. While the Fed does not tell states what to do with their own funds, we who do not live there should not be compelled to underwrite their follies.

In the past when populations of illegal aliens in the USA could not make enough money to survive and send money back to their home countries, mainly Mexico, large percentages of illegal aliens packed up and returned back home of their own accord. These days the leftist and liberal Democrats consider the massive (realistically up to 22 million) illegal alien population to be future socialist Democrat voters following a general amnesty, in sufficient numbers to permanently overwhelm the Republican “deplorable” vote in enough areas of the country to keep the Democrats in perpetual political power in Washington, DC., and in States like California, enabling the Democrats to enact their radical leftist and socialist political agenda goals. That’s why the Democrats are willing to spend as much government money as necessary to keep illegal aliens in the USA, and have been obstructing every effective interior immigration law enforcement initiative using Democrat created bogus legal concepts at the State and local level, such as the so-called Sanctuary Cities fiascos that conflict with federal immigration laws, along with resisting President Trump erecting an effective borderline barrier (the wall) to stop the unlawful breaching of the US border by uncontrolled masses of illegal aliens, and smugglers of illicit drugs and all sorts of other contraband.

I can echo what Poster #15 said. My younger sister, was a die-hard liberal until the day she passed away. I loved her dearly, but political talk was verboten. I'm in South Louisiana and she was in Seattle, so we only had phones and email correspondence. She wanted us to facebook, but of the 5 siblings, she was alone in that. She raised her whole brood to be West Coast liberals, and now, they're estranged from the family. We were all raised in the mid-West by hard working, 1st generation parents, and the remaing 3 of us have never figured out what went wrong. As poster #15 said, you can never reason with them, or hardly even talk to them, without being chastised for not being as caring as they are, for being racist and xenophobic. It's easier to walk away.

In other news: CA will be robbers of banks, liquor stores, and muggers who have been hit hard by the shutdown and can't make ends meet because their targets are not available. When asked for a comment, a spokesperson said, "CA needs to treat all criminals with equal respect and give them all taxpayer funded handouts. Hardworking taxpayers need to 'pay their fair what's to these criminals. Anything else would be... well, something-ist and something-phobic."

Illegal immigrants wouldn't be in fear of deportation if they hadn't jumped the fence in the first place. Best way for them to avoid this fear is to LEAVE. It's embarrassing to be a Californian, to have Newsom as governor, and to pander to illegals for their vote -- which this $500 payment is so blatantly doing. There is no compassion in this gesture. Only the typical democrat power grab.

The Pelosi Recession 5 replies

As another five million people flood the unemployment system, the country faces a classic whodunit: Who killed the U.S. economy? The novel coronavirus must bear some of the blame. Social distancing has pushed millions of consumers and producers into their homes. A temporary societal shutdown means a temporary economic contraction. But the length of the recession—whether the economy bounces back post-shutdown, or whether we lose another decade of growth—is as much about government as the conditions on the ground.

In other news, things are even worse than you thought. J. Edgar Hoover is alive and well in the bowels of your federal government. The good news these days is that all the most dire predictions in the media about coronavirus are turning up negative. All the “models” showing hundreds of thousands of Americans dying were just pipe dreams cooked up by globalist government bureaucrats and breathlessly peddled by the media. In truth, it now appears we have shut down the booming American economy in response to what amounts to a very bad flu season. That does not diminish the tragedy of each and every death;

President Trump’s decision to set the United States back on the path to work will be decried as mere politics, but it is the right decision. It is the task of politicians to consider the general welfare. This consideration sets the current emergency against the coming one, the need to reduce deaths from COVID-19 against the need to forestall the human cost of an economy in open-ended limbo. The data on COVID-19 remains insufficient and will probably remain so. The economic prognosis is, however, clearer, and we have the data too. The IMF is warning that a prolonged shutdown will lead to a Thirties’-style Depression.

U.S. intelligence has “increasing confidence” that the novel Wuhan coronavirus outbreak began in a lab that was researching bat-coronaviruses, contrary to China’s claim that the pandemic emerged from a Wuhan wet market, according to multiple sources that briefed Fox News. The sources told Fox News that the initial transmission of the virus looks to be bat-to-human, and that “patient zero” contracted the disease while working at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, before going into the general population. While the lab is China’s first to achieve the highest level of international bio-research safety, known as BSL-4, its work with bats had been conducted at the lower protection level of BSL-2.

Many Americans woke up Wednesday expecting to find a payment of $1,200 or more from the U.S. government in their bank account, but instead they realized nothing had arrived yet — or the wrong amount was deposited.
