Two Democratic congressmen have proposed expanding the coronavirus relief program to give Americans $2,000 a month until the economy recovers. The checks would go to individuals making less than $130,000 or couples who earn less than $260,000 and would be steady source of income, unlike the first round of individual checks, which, at up to $1,200, were a one-time deposit. The money would cease when unemployment returns to its pre-coronavirus levels. Representatives Tim Ryan of Ohio and Ro Khanna of California said their Emergency Money for the People Act would provide more relief as workers face pay cuts, layoffs and furloughs

And since we're improving on this pathetic little plan, why stop after people start earning a salary again? Why not just keep giving it to people for the rest of their lives? I mean, it works SO well in other socialists countries!

How were we going to pay for this again? Just curious. Maybe getting businesses back in business -- SAFELY -- would be a better route to take. Ya think?

Make it Bill Gates' monthly income. Then everyone would be that wealthy and happy.
I don't see any downside.

Why not $5,000/month? Why not $10,000?
And I'm glad the payments would go to "individuals," which would therefore illegal immigrants and noncitizen.
Let's just crank up the printing press speed.

I wish there were still some sane Democrats out there in the general population who would recognize how utterly stupid and destructive their politicians are.

Yes, why not $100 million each? It's only money. Can't we just print more?
The insanity of it all. I can here my parents now " Sure, why not?! We will just go pick some off the money tree in the backyard! "
Well we got installment 1 of the great taxpayer funded giveaway today. Other than tithe, a bit of outdoor home improvement (since stuck at home, we want to liven up our patio), and the cost of a bottle of bourbon husband has been eyeing for a while (the man works hard and deserves a treat), the rest goes to savings. Son got his too. He too will spend a bit and save the rest.

Okay, I'm starting to see this as getting some of my tax money back. Except, democrats are criminal liars and double dealing destroyers, and this would come back to kick the snot out of all of us and our great grandchildren.

We all opposed the first crapulus bill. It slid on through. You cannot continue to print money before it eventually becomes worthless. It's a siege, as I said.
