I hope President Trump treads carefully on this one. Many remain sold on Fauci far more those of us who have been reading between the lines in Fauci's statements. I'd rather see Fauci gradually diminish in relevancy--rather than fired. Of course, the risk is that he's a little powder keg and thinks he's the expert on everything. Powder kegs can explode.

Fauci is on tape from mid-February saying the US had nothing to worry about, two weeks after Trump closed down flights from China. Trump has him by his... "particulars" ;)
Loose lips Fauci has been a public disaster, fueling panic while contradicting himself in interview after interview. Time to put him to bed.

Actually, Fauci was saying we had nothing to worry about a week before Trump shut down flights from China:

Fauci thinks he's the President. His statements yesterday were conflicting. He stated in person voting in November is not possible & the media community will decide when to re-open the government, . When the WH press...Johnathan Karl ... salutes you as you are leaving a WH briefing ...you know you are the media darling of the week. Remember previous media darlings... Cohen, Comey, Avanti, Brennen, Clapper, Stormy, Scaramucci...

Agree with #1. Fire Fauci and he will appear on every media outlet to bash the President. It will not matter what he said in February. All the media wants is someone that will tear into the President. Fauci has probably already started writing his tell all book. It’s what these deep staters do. The democrat playbook is getting very old. The media attacks will come in swift and hard if the President fires Fauci. Better to phase the experts out and limit the questions of the media by half. They do not seek information but use their time to spar with the President.

What Fauci has said on this subject is "on tape". He's been extremely careless with the things he's said. He doesn't get to walk anything back.

What President Trump needs to do is thank him for his service on the team. Send him back to his office (he must be kept on the payroll) and tell him that he no longer represents the team. Replace him immediately with another medical expert. This way President Trump has control over who he is allow to talk to. The President needs to tell Fauci that his expertise is need in the analysis area of this virus. Fauci also needs to be reminded that he no longer represents the TEAM as the voice of the medical portion. Fauci can provide the new medical expert with his findings and that is all. In other words, he can no longer speak to any media.

i agree with others who say fire this weasel. Fire him because it's the right thing to do - damn the media - full speed ahead. Factoring in the media gives them more power. Let Dr. Fauci go on every cable news network after he is fired, just like several others who Trump fired. I think they always look weak and pathetic whimpering to the media.
And CNN's ratings are abysmal anyway. We need to stop worrying about what the media is going to say. It doesn't matter what they say. They are irrelevant.

The President surrounds himself with liberals and globalists with strong ties to Bill Gates and the development of a vaccine. These opportunists are manipulating the data to serve their own interests. Just listen to their dire predictions unsupported by the numbers and then connect the dots. It’s not very difficult. New York is a mess. I am hardly surprised.
Fire them. Today! How possibly could it matter how the media interprets your action? Take responsibility and get this country back to work. Stop printing money and let the ingenuity of the American workforce renew and strengthen the economy. The buck stops at the President’s desk. Your desk!

We need to investigate Fauci's relationship with the Gates foundation's push for vaccines (a relationship going back years) and his connection with Gilead. He keeps praising their remdesivir, though it failed against ebola, and bashing hydroxychloroquine. We also need to understand his role in the NIH grant of millions of taxpayer dollars to the Wuhan lab (again, going back years) to investigate the very bats from which this virus supposedly came. https://www.ibtimes.sg/us-gave-3-7-million-wuhan-laboratory-conducting-experiments-using-virus-bats-42890 There are many dots that need a connection.

People should read what the Doctor actually said. Tapper was baiting him:
TAPPER: Do you think lives could have been saved if social distancing, physical distancing, stay-at-home measures had started third week of February, instead of mid-March?
FAUCI: You know, Jake, again, it’s the what would have, what could have.
It’s – it’s very difficult to go back and say that. I mean, obviously, you could logically say, that if you had a process that was ongoing, and you started mitigation earlier, you could have saved lives. Obviously, no one is going to deny that.
But what goes into those kinds of decisions is – is complicated. But you’re right. I mean, obviously, if we had, right from the very beginning, shut everything down, it may have been a little bit different.
But there was a lot of pushback about shutting things down back then. [emphasis added.]

The President should find ways to limit the msm asking him questions and to limit his "updates". Fauci has decided to seek personal and political gain from the coronavirus crisis so let's not go out of our way to accommodate him. He's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar a number of times now spewing misinformation. Let him achieve non-relevance on his own.

I think PDT can handle Dr. Fauci’s opinions. It occurs to me maybe the good doctor wants to keep in the good graces of the left so he says things that are open to interpretation. I don’t think he’s a saboteur. He’s a science wonk, lab rat, statistician. Numbers tell one part of the science story. The proof is in the pétri dish, if you will. And clinical trials. Fauci knows this. However, at this point in our COVID19 journey, the whole country should be one big clinical trial.
Having said all this, I still want the country opened ASAP. And gearing back up, economically, will have its own set of challenges.

If Fauci has been working all that hard, he would have no time for CNN. His goal in life is to get his face on TV as much as possible and somehow take credit for the control of this virus while killing the country. The goal seems not to be to save lives but to erase all of the accomplishments of Donald Trump. Anybody who came from the Obama administration and "loves" Hillary has very poor judgement and should not be trusted with a sharp pencil. His outright firing would anger the liberals but what doesn't these days?

Although it is satisfying to think of firing Fauci, I agree with those posters who say go slow!!!!!! He does have a following, and would immediately show up on every show imaginable to speak against Trump. The real way to deal with him is simply publish his actual statements, with dates for all to see: he was one of those who felt we should go out and live our lives, that we had nothing to fear, way up to the point when the virus really hit! And this is AFTER Trump instated the China travel ban. (In fact, it would be great to have the quotes and clips from ALL of those who thought the virus no big deal, now that they have changed their tunes and started pointing fingers. It is SO beyond hypocritical.) But Trump should NOT fire the man!!!!!!! It would bite him where it need not.

Decisions on reopening the country should be based on input from BOTH medical and economic experts. These perspectives need to be balanced. Economic disaster will affect families's livelihoods, the food supply and so much more. Funny I haven't heard anything in the news about suicide rates. They are probably categorizing them as COVID-related to pump up the stats that support the deep state narrative. Maybe I'm joking about that theory...maybe not.

It's much better to have Dr. Faustus ... I mean Fauci to continue to double-talk on the wrong models, stats, etc. and as time goes on, no one will believe him.
I can't wait for old Tony (sorry he's Italian) standing next to Trump and when the time comes, watch Trump put the knife in slowly. And when 500 million doses of vaccine have been produced, shipped, and are ready to administer to every person in America by October 1, make him go in front of the cameras and admit he was wrong.

This thread is a good healthy debate. What's important to take from this is that the President does indeed have a healthy skepticism of Fauci. A short time ago, many of us were worried that he was swallowing everything that the HRC-lover said. I think many, if not most of us have been praying not only for the President's protection, but also for wisdom in dealing with this. Continue to pray. No doubt his staff is having the same debate we are. May God grant our president wisdom to do the right thing.

Praise Fauci a little; perhaps asking him if he was serious about Brad Pitt playing him in some
future production. (Fauci said this in one of his many recent appearances on cable.)
Then roll out the whole time line of what he said THEN versus what he says NOW about the covid-19 crisis. (I think one of Saul Alinsky's, Rules for Radicals, is to use your opponent's own words to condemn him. I am sure Fauci is familiar with Alinsky's tactics because his good friend, Hillary Clinton, wrote about Alinsky and his Rules for Radicals for her senior thesis at Wellesley.

Just to put my 2¢ in the pot...I agree with a lot of others who say no to firing Dr. Fauci. I also encourage people to read the article, (I know it's the NYT...pptui, pptui) but it's clear that in the CNN (pptui, pptui again) interview that Tapper is trying to bait Fauci and encourage a negative response toward President Trump. To his credit, his response was measured and basically was that you can do all the Monday morning QB stuff but he/we did what we did. Sure you can say we should have started earlier but we also can't be sure less people would have succumbed to the virus if we had.
I think what makes me mad, and I'm sure it pisses of the President, is that Dr. Fauci isn't pushing back hard enough against this crap. Anyone can say woulda, coulda, shoulda but so what? And the other thing is that Dr. Fauci isn't taking more of the responsibility for the decisions made a few short weeks ago. After all, he was right there along with the President and everyone else on the team. He was part of the decision making so he should be shouldering his share and I don't think it's enough.
To fire Dr. Fauci now would be a mistake. He's got a lot of respect in the medical community and if you think people are screaming for President Trump's head now, you would see some serious "splody heads" from everywhere. I'm hoping he won't do it, or if he does, wait until after Nov.

Fauci is a viper, so tread carefully President Trump. Remember Fauci is a Hillary Clinton sycophant, and he's in no hurry to reopen the US economy as long as he's pulling in his taxpayer funded paycheck. Don't trust the guy, never have!

Not figuring out how to dump Fauci long ago when all the stuff first started coming out about him is going to be an albatross around Trump's neck. Very likely though, as of tomorrow, Trump will be more focused on the economic council and getting the country back to work than continuing on the Fauci circus train. As to comments about Trump treading carefully I have seen, those folks have not been paying attention or reading other media. Trump always gets his ducks in a row before he acts. He and Pence both know it is time to end the Fauci circus.

Dilute his face time. Fauci is a weasel who will NEVER think it's safe to come out again. Academic with no practical sense. Right now dummies in the press are watching like hawks for any perceived slight of this man. Add some new voices to the mix & make him less important.

Trump may not fire Fauci. Instead he may slink away quietly.

I say "promote" him. Send him out into the field to do real science. Send him all over the country. The President needs first hand information, in depth research from a real scientist with decades of experience. Then reports must be readied by his team and reviewed by committees and only then submitted. This will surely take months but "if it saves one life, isn't it worth it? "

White House stating Fauci is a trusted advisor of the president. I guess he is an advisor, but trusted? I wouldn't trust this old media seeking hound from inside the beltway any more than I trust Comey. Fauci thinks he's making policy.

Our second best President Reagan appointed him is 1984 (Fauci).
Just put him back in his office and shut the door.
