Bill de Blasio, America's worst mayor

After the 9/11 terrorist attack, Rudy Giuliani’s calm presence was an inspiration to the entire nation. Today, New York is a different kind of ground zero, and it has a very different kind of leadership — which is to say, the weak and woefully inadequate kind. To say that Mayor Bill de Blasio has done a poor job under pressure is to understate the case. In the simpler times of 2014, New Yorkers had the luxury of chuckling at his weak leadership, as when he killed a defenseless groundhog at a public event. But that he has proven himself such a clown amid a grave crisis,

The Democrat machine is very strong in the Northeast-that's why imbeciles like Bill DeBlasio (NY) and Ned Lamont (CT) and Phil Murphy (NJ) keep getting elected. Here in CT we just withstood 8 years of Dannell Molloy, the stu-stu-stuttering idiot who raised taxes not once but twice (!) and still elected another Democrat as govenor instead of a Republican.

Because of DeBlasio's utter stupidity, our hospitals in Upstate NY will be raided for their ventilators so New York City can cope with the thousands of newly infected people who listened to the mayor. As one local nurse told me, 'What are we supposed to do when we get a patient who needs to be ventlated? Those ventilators are expensive. We'll never see them again.'

The only thing one can surmise from the fact that the voters of NYC and similar blue cities/states keep electing such profoundly stupid, crooked, and dictatorial officials is that they too are profoundly stupid, crooked, and dictatorial for their own wants and needs. I'd therefore say that nature is doing a pretty good job of starting to cull that herd. Natural selection at work.

Aside from the WashEx taking a couple of very clumsy swipes at the President, fairly good analysis of the political disaster in NYC. Incompetence at it best. Surprised that the locals haven't tarred and feathered daBlasie by now. On the other hand, why would they as long as all the gummint welfare checks and goodies arrive on time in the mail.. Wonder how many New Yorkers miss the Mayor Giuliani days.

De Blahblah was entitled to his opinion weeks ago and might have even been right about the danger of this disease had it not been for three major airports letting in hundreds of infected people, LAX, O'Hare and New York. These locations are where the infection explosions took place. Seattle was caused primarily by one person. Had we known in January what we know now, the US is sparsely populated enough to have contained this thing. Not enough people practice distancing and still do not. I live in a resort community several hundred miles from New York and it's disconcerting how many NY license plates are parked in driveways here, no doubt relatives and students who escaped the city. We still may determine that the closure of the economy was an overreaction but given the behavior of the infection scofflaws and the inaccurate data, we will probably never know.

Yet if de Blasio ran again for Mayor on the Democrat ticket he would win reelection because he's a Democrat. It doesn't seem to matter to New Yorkers that he's a communist and incompetent only that he's a Democrat. I will never understand that kind of herd mentality mindset? I guess living stacked on top of each other and having to use mass transit to get around some how dulls the mind?

It's a vicious cycle of the worst kind of twist on Darwinism. In this case, it's survival of the worst & the dumbest. As any city turns socialist and uses taxpayer money to help those who not only never did anything to earn it or deserve it but spit at the taxpayer who is paying for it all, then it is just a matter of time (often short but sometimes over 20+ years) that the bill payer wises up. He/she realizes that they will never be appreciated so they vote with their feet and take their money with them. That leaves like minded nut jobs in a much higher concentration .... which is what has happened in NYC. De Blasio is just the smartest stooge who figured out how to manipulate the rest of the sheep. Mayor for 6 years in America's prime terrorist target and he doesn't have any surgical masks & gloves and/or gowns let alone ventilators stockpiled. Really? But he does have the driver's license exam for taxi drivers printed out in 38 languages!

If you analyse the numbers of DeBlasio's first election to mayor, you will find out that out of the entire eligible voter base in NYC, he got elected by something like 45% of approx about 15% of those who actually bothered to vote. I mean minuscule numbers, even for NYC. I remember being both shocked and kind of disgusted when I saw that. Even his own staffers were frustrated with his incompetent ignorance during the first month of his 1st term. He was then, and is now, truly an awful mayor. Makes Dinkins look like a genius. I think DeBlasio is also the first mayor who not only has declared war on his own cops, but has been treated with well earned loathing by them in return. DeBlasio is indeed America's worst mayor, and it doesn't make NYC look good. In fact it makes them all look like a bunch of lazy chumps IMO when they keep reelecting him.

To all commenters in this thread esp #8, the mystery of why liberal democrats keep electing pols that wreck and ruin everything they touch has baffled many for decades. Look at all the worst cities in America and you will discover that they are democrat strongholds with decades of democrat party machinery in place. Why do people keep voting for them? A. the welfare vote. Keep the minorities angry and resentful of the successes of whites and give them just enough welfare poison to keep them on life support but not enough to springboard them out of the 'hood' and you have the lion's share of the city vote. B. well-paid white liberals just want to keep abortion legal. That is all they worry about.

Under the federal system in place in the USA there are fifty sovereign States. Each State, if you have been paying attention since President Trump was elected, especially the States with Democrat Governors have in many respects went their own way, and sometimes refuse to assist in the effective enforcement of many federal laws, the only exception being when they are when they are seeking Federal (taxpayers) money to be sent their way. In that respect each Governor is responsible for the health and welfare of their State. They all have State Health Departments to ensure that the State will be ready to handle any health emergency that hits that State. To be effective each State must purchase and stockpile needed medical equipment over periods of years. With the covert and insidious sudden onset of the novel corona virus, it became clear that the States failed to ensure that they had adequate medical supplies immediately available to them. In New York that is really in serious trouble with out of control corona virus, political blame is now flying around, first New York Democrat politicians blamed the President and the Federal Government for their lack of medical supplies and their healthcare facilities being overrun by the corona virus. Now, off and on, Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio are blaming each other and complaining that New York was not ready. Remember Cuomo has been the Governor there since 2011. Also remember New York and other States have been all in on globalization and “open borders”, factors that allowed the corona virus to be imported into the USA on a large scale.

If you live in one of these liberal enclaves and you speak up stuff can happen. Your car can be keyed. Your boss can suddenly turn hostile. People shun you. Why? They do not operate rationally. Liberalism is their religion. Their beliefs are emotion based. When you engage in debate and you finally pin them down being as polite and tactful as possible they get more and more angry, start throwing ad hominid attacks or engaging in angry tirades or deflecting by changing the subject. I was trying very hard to gently talk a relative "off the ledge" - her 20 something children were all going to die from the Wuhan virus and it was all Trump's fault. As soon as I presented evidence she would throw out a new "fact" from the Madow universe for me to deal with. Another person was screaming at me about all I care about is my 401k. I watched my 50 something boss who bragged about vandalism of a church because proposition 8 had passed in California turn red face and screaming when someone suggested that the press was hypocritical because they attacked republicans for sexual escapades and not democrats. And to him anyone who was the least bit to the right of Rachel was "stupid" regardless of how good at their job they were, with the consequent effect on their job ratings. As for voting, the liberals will simply "find" enough votes to win elections. Come on over and hang out at a polling place - a car pulls up late in the day with 6 or more strangers packed in. They don't look like folks from the precinct. They go in two by two and vote. Then they move on. That's the retail version.

It's sad to think of what might have been. Instead of so many payoff pork projects, a lot of the stimulus money from Obama and Pelosi could have gone to hospitals, supplies, decent medical research, fixing roads and bridges etc instead of PBS, Kennedy Center, Solindra and other solar panels, light bulbs and everything else that went into politicians' pockets.

NYS and NYC are now wholly owned Democrat one party governments. Fat and happy New Yorkers, reveling in a prosperous and safe city from Rudy Giuliani's and to some extent Mike Bloomberg's administrations, thought they could vote in this moron because things were so good. In 2013, a former Giuliani deputy mayor and MTA Chair, a good, no nonsense manager and Republican Joe Lhota was defeated by Mayor Moron with just about 24 percent of eligible voters casting ballots. Today, Mayor Moron stands as the single most incompetent and obnoxious Mayor the city has ever seen. In good times, a society can function somewhat with an incompetent heading it up. But when times get tough, we see just how vital are competence, intelligence and humility . And if y'all think Mayor Moron is bad, just wait. What's coming up behind him will make him look like a genius. One party towns breed imbeciles.

A lot of rats in this state, most of them in NYC. Rats do what rats do and I understand crazy, viscous, emotionally driven maniacs. What I don't understand is all the other dopes who don't bother to vote, 'because it won't make any difference and I don't want to be called for jury duty.' Of COURSE it makes a difference, you idiots. Not voting against every rat on the ballot is a vote FOR them and it's your driver's license that puts you in the jury pool. The other factor besides the lower political I.Q. in NY is the New York Republican Party. An organization so inept and corrupt that they get behind a woman who drops out of her representative race and endorses the democrat opponent. A viable candidate runs for governor who was well known and sensible, but was barely beaten by the Thug because the RNC and the NY Republicans REFUSED to provide him any financial backing.

Here we are in the midst of a once-in-a-half-century pandemic, with the economy flattened, millions of people unemployed, and unrest on the streets of our cities. And President-elect Joe Biden says that one of his highest priorities as president will be to reenter the Paris climate accord. President Trump kept his "put America first" promise and pulled the United States out of this Obama-era treaty. Biden wants us back in. Why? Paris is an unmitigated failure. You don't have to take my word for it. National Geographic, a supporter of climate change action, recently ran the numbers and admitted in its recent headline: "Most countries aren't hitting 2030 climate goals."

Implications of the Flynn Pardon 11 replies

President Trump granted a pardon to Michael Flynn, his former national-security adviser, today. Flynn had pled guilty to lying to FBI agents about conversations, during the 2016 transition, with the Russian ambassador about sanctions. Flynn’s pardon should bring to an end one gross violation of the Constitution’s separation of powers, even as it gives rise to groundless accusations of another. Although Flynn had pled guilty, the circumstances of the case had raised serious concerns about whether the government had proceeded properly. The FBI, for example, questioned Flynn even though it did not appear he had violated any law. In May, Attorney General William Barr ordered the case dropped.

Our proto-fascist dictator Tim Walz, in his latest edict, purports to ban traditional Thanksgiving get-togethers: Saturday, Nov. 21 through Friday, Dec. 18, Executive Order 20-99 requires all Minnesotans to: * Limit social gatherings to one household. * Not gather outside of your household. * Postpone all celebrations, events, receptions, and parties, including any social gatherings for weddings and funerals. Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. Noncitizens are obligated to identify themselves and opt out,

The Royal Family was left reeling this morning after Meghan Markle tearfully revealed that the stress of royal life made her suicidal when she was five months pregnant, claimed Archie was denied the title of prince because he is mixed-race and said Kate Middleton made her cry before she married Harry in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. The couple also chose to reveal that they are having a baby girl to the tens of millions of people watching the CBS show broadcast in the US before accusing the Royal Family of racism and revealing the deep rift 'Megxit' has caused with Prince Charles and Prince William.

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Without question, the vast majority of Americans who support former President Donald Trump were angry and frustrated throughout 2020 passed with barely a mention of then-U.S. Attorney John Durham’s criminal investigation into the FBI’s fraudulent “Russiagate” counterterrorism operation directed at his 2016 campaign. In the weeks before the November election, word got out that then-Attorney General William Barr wasn’t going to announce any indictments or even a report on Durham’s investigation because he did not want to influence the outcome. So far, in fact, the only indictment to come out of the Durham probe is that of former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who essentially got a slap on the wrist

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, when we could have said –-no. But somehow we missed it.” Tom Stoppard The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
