NBC's Chuck Todd under fire for asking
Biden if Trump has 'blood on his hands'
for delayed coronavirus response

NBC News anchor Chuck Todd raised eyebrows Sunday morning when he asked if President Trump had "blood on his hands" for his delayed response to the coronavirus outbreak. During an interview with former Vice President Joe Biden, Todd pointed to the Democrat's campaign messaging on the pandemic, which says a failure to take aggressive action "could cost lives." "Do you think there is blood on the president's hands considering the slow response?" Todd asked. "Or is that too harsh of a criticism?"

Comments:

I cannot watch Chuck Todd because my hand uncontrollably itches to slap that smirky face until he yells Uncle.

President Donald Trump placed a travel ban to China on January 31. Did you see any of the Democrats halting the impeachment debacle so he could focus on it? Nope, they were digging in even more with trying to pull together a bill that would stop the ban. Hypocrites.

In fact #6, the Dems were trying to pass a law forbidding Mr Trump from ordering any such travel bans. 20/20 hindsight is always perfect isn't it. How many other nations took any action at all until the storm was fully upon them. Italy? Germany? Great Britain? India? Nope, none of the above.

Not only was this President being chastised and criticized for the China travel ban on Jan 31st, just 10 days after the first cases arrived in the United States, but the CDC was still not believing it could be transmitted human-to-human yet. January 23, 2020 – At an emergency committee convened by the World Health Organization, the WHO says that the Wuhan coronavirus does not yet constitute a public health emergency of international concern. January 26, 2020 – The China Association of Travel Services reports that all tours, including international ones, will be suspended. January 28, 2020 – Chinese President Xi Jinping meets with WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom in Beijing. At the meeting, Xi and the WHO agree to send a team of international experts, including US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention staff, to China to investigate the coronavirus outbreak. January 29, 2020 – The White House announces the formation of a new task force that will help monitor and contain the spread of the virus, and ensure Americans have accurate and up-to-date health and travel information, it says. January 30, 2020 – The United States reports its first confirmed case of person-to-person transmission of the Wuhan coronavirus. On the same day, the WHO determines that the outbreak constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). January 31, 2020 – The Donald Trump administration announces it will deny entry to foreign nationals who have traveled in China in the last 14 days. February 26, 2020 – CDC officials say that a California patient being treated for novel coronavirus is the first US case of unknown origin. The patient, who didn’t have any relevant travel history nor exposure to another known patient, is the first possible US case of “community spread.” March 4, 2020 – The CDC formally removes earlier restrictions that limited coronavirus testing of the general public to people in the hospital, unless they had close contact with confirmed coronavirus cases. According to the CDC, clinicians should now “use their judgment to determine if a patient has signs and symptoms compatible with COVID-19 and whether the patient should be tested.”

I think the better question to ask is whether Biden and his son have blood on their hands for promoting the globalization policies and China trade agreements that made us dependent on them for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies that we can't get in this crisis. Todd would probably have asked Gen. McClellan if Lincoln had blood on his hands for defeating Lee at Gettysburg.

What would Chuck Todd have done? Nothing, as at the time he and his leftist and liberal Democrat political masters were focused on removing President Trump from office on bogus impeachment charges. Todd certainly would not have ordered a travel ban involving people traveling by air from China to the USA as in the politicized world of Chuck Todd that would have been racist and xenophobic. That travel ban ordered by Trump in January stopped about 30,000 Chinese a week from getting into the USA, and neither Biden, Todd, or anyone else has a clue as to how many of those would be arriving Chinese were either wittingly or unwittingly carrying the corona virus which would have infected untold numbers of Americans. As far as Biden is concerned, it is easy for him to parrot what Trump has been doing all along, listening to his economic and medical science advisors, who have been appearing with Trump at the daily corona task force briefings.

During this coronavirus shutdown, as so many of us have become unmoored, finding it difficult to process all the changes we're facing, I wondered: What's the safe way during the pandemic to tell the neighbors you're moving after 25 years in your home? You can't hug them. Email is so infuriatingly sterile. Handwritten notes on fine stationery would be nice, but doesn't coronavirus linger on surfaces? And bleach wipes would ruin the penmanship.

The spring flood season is upon us in the United States. As temperatures rise, the snows of winter melt and trickle across the landcape into rivers, whose steady flows turn to rushing torrents. Rising waters boosted by wet weather overflow their banks and pour onto farm fields, highways, and city streets. Last year, record floods along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers caused $2.9 Billion worth of damage in Nebraska and Iowa, flooding at least one million acres of farmland and killing three people. While floods and other natural disasters can inflict unfortunate death and destruction upon individuals, they can paradoxically benefit communities in the long run.

After Super Tuesday, Bernie Sanders was no longer the front-runner for the Democratic nomination. Within four days of Sanders’s Nevada victory, the Democratic establishment roused itself in a move publicly initiated by South Carolina congressman James Clyburn, privately managed by still unknown hidden actors, and culminating in the decisions by Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar to drop out. Then, even more remarkably, the Democratic primary electorates in most of 14 states did their part eagerly and obediently: voting, in sum, to put Joe Biden in the lead. In the primaries since that point, Biden has moved further ahead. So far, the Democrats have produced a feat of coordination
