President Donald Trump’s negative remarks about Washington Gov. Jay Inslee as the state and nation respond to the novel coronavirus pandemic “haven’t knocked us off our game at all,” (snip) The governor has clashed with Trump in recent days over the federal government’s response to the crisis, trading comments and tweets as Inslee has urged the president to provide states with more aid and equipment. “None of us here are being distracted by the background noise that might come out of the White House,” Inslee said in a news conference (snip) “Our job is too important to save constituents and our neighbors and our families from this deadly virus.”

Comments:

Inslee bragged recently about insulting VP Pence, but is very sensitive about what Pres. Trump says.

I say isolate Washington State as the chinese did to Wuhan territory during the outbreak. Isolate that territory, drop off supplies and no one in or out. The Governor wants to govern, then do so. The federal government will provide you with the supplies you need.

What is the President supposed to do, pull the equipment out of the White House basement? Inslee is typical of those smarmy-mouthed pot smoking hippie jerks who have the answer to everything but have accomplished nothing outside of politics. Washington and especially Seattle are screwed-up liberal swamps and their citizens can look forward to a future of more tax increases and a homeless invasion.

The intersection of a global pandemic and the for-profit U.S. medical sector came to a head this weekend when a national physicians group called on Washington regulators to investigate the termination of a doctor who’d publicly criticized a Bellingham hospital for inadequate coronavirus protections. The White House criticized Wednesday the Seattle-area NPR station’s recent decision to stop airing the coronavirus task force press briefings. “It’s not surprising, but also a failure of their duty to the American people, that some media outlets would choose to block their audiences from receiving accurate, up-to-date information on President Trump’s whole-of-government approach to slowing the spread of COVID-19,” White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere told Daily Caller. In panic buying in recent weeks because the coronavirus might shutter both types of shops, they reported sales increases of 20% to 30%, and sometimes more. But good news! To combat the novel coronavirus, Gov. Jay Inslee is ordering Washington residents to stay at home, except for crucial activities. Residents can still leave to buy groceries, seek medical care and go to work at essential businesses, Inslee said in a live televised address Monday evening, and they can still engage in outdoor activities that can be done 6 feet away from others, such as walking and biking. But the new order requires the closure of nonessential business places and, the governor said, “is enforceable by law,” though broad crackdowns by officers aren’t expected. The property tax in Washington state is a key vehicle to fund government schools. The boss of government schools, and promoter of school curricula that treats kids as sexual beings from birth, Chris Reykdal, has suggested that districts dealing with coronoavirus not teach children, even online, because: “equity.” So, can you stop paying your property taxes since Reykdal has caused schools to stop teaching? Maybe Reykdal has a good reason for his official opinion. Chris Reykdal’s position is that, so long as one child doesn’t have a smart phone or computer and/or Internet access, no child will receive online education.

By Friday morning, the governors of New York and California had ordered — with significant exceptions — all their residents to stay home, to try to limit, as much as possible, the spread of the novel coronavirus. Other states soon followed: New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois. At least 1 in 5 Americans have been ordered to stay home. Residents of Western Washington, where the outbreak hit first and, initially, hardest, have not. Instead, Gov. Jay Inslee is doing everything he can to keep people from leaving the house without outright ordering it.

Faced with mounting coronavirus infections, California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Sunday issued sweeping new restrictions in California, calling for home isolation of everyone in the state over age 65 and people with chronic disease, both high-risk populations. He also asked for closure of bars, wineries, night clubs and brew pubs, and called for restaurants to reduce their occupancy by half. He called that “deep social distancing” and a “pragmatic response to the moment.” The dramatic announcement, designed to keep people away from each other, stopped short of closing restaurants. Instead, the governor said they can also operate at reduced capacity and with curbside food service and at-home food deliveries.

You’ve probably heard the expression those who can, do, and those who can’t, teach. A Rhode Island public school teacher perhaps gave that chestnut a new meaning by allegedly taking to Twitter with an offer to pay someone infected with COVID-19 to cough on President Trump. The educator in question, who has subsequently deactivated her Twitter account that purportedly operated anonymously under the handle “Proud Teacher,” is said to teach English as a Second Language to middle schoolers. She previously taught in neighboring Massachusetts.
