House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Sunday that she has decided to move forward with her own emergency coronavirus relief package.Pelosi spokes just hours before the Senate was scheduled to take a procedural vote that would lead towards a final vote on a bipartisan economic relief package. The bill would provide economic relief after the coronavirus epidemic ravaged the country’s economy.“From my standpoint, we’re apart,” she said. Subsequently, Senate leaders decided to delay a planned vote to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Typical of Democrats to obstruct and intervene rather than a bipartisan policy of saving lives. All while the hardship and the death from Coronavirus continues.

As usual, for this woman it is politics as usual. Where has she been this past week when the Senate has been working of these bills? Seems to me she let the House go into recess. Now she wants to come back a week later and dismiss all that has been done since it doesn't include her political agenda. The Republicans should highlight how Pelosi and the Dems put their political agenda ahead of the health and economic welfare of the American people. The woman is pathetic.

Come on, Nan. Lighten up and put down your hate of the President. We don't have time for your games of hate. If you can't work with the President and the republicans, then get out of the House and somebody else can take over for you. Besides the SF homeless need a place to stay and you need to come back to SFD and bring them into your house.

Sure Pelosi, there's no rush. Take your time. People are only getting sick and dying, and the economy is going down the drain, but you go ahead with your power play and show Mitch who's boss.
In reality, you're showing the country what a colossal jackass you are. Have fun explaining this tomorrow.

The strategy of the Democrats is now clear. We are going to see millions of highly skilled and well paid workers furloughed from the oil drillers, airlines, Boeing, and Boeing's suppliers in retribution for their unwavering support for President Trump. The cash flow problems with their companies will not let them operate responsibly unless they eliminate their labor costs within the next few week. The Democrats failed to remove Trump with the Russian hoax, they failed with impeachment, and now they are prepared to plunge the entire country into a preventable economic recession or worse to regain their power. They will fail if there is any justice left in the world but until then prepare for a whole lot more pain.

McConnell had worked out a bipartisan bill and was ready to proceed until Pelosi showed up and talked with Schumer. She is so enraged by the impeachment fiasco that she is going to torpedo the entire relief package to get back at Trump. The collateral damage will be 20 million unemployed airline and Boeing workers.
We've seen this mindset during the Vietnam War. The Democrats have determined they must destroy the country in order to save it.

I know it's unchristian of me, and as a real Catholic, I was raised not to hate. But the democrats are getting everything they want, a tanked economy, religion shut down and the country looking like a socialist paradise. Because of this, and I may burn in hell for wishing this on another human being, I fervently hope that if she doesn't choke on her dentures or have a hissy-fit heart attack, that she contacts the worse case of the corona virus ever seen in the country!

There should be no pork in this bill. This should be an up and down vote for the sole purpose of aiding the American people who are now in vital need. Politics be damned.
#5, Pelosi has no moral compass. You see and hear it from her almost regularly.
#8, it is wrong to wish a severe illness or death on someone, but I do understand where you are coming from.
#11, Nancy doesn't need a test for idiocy. She is an idiot.
Nancy has made this terrible virus into a political issue. That is damnable. Her enduring hatred for this president has outweighed the desperate needs of the American people including very young people and the elderly.
Nancy, you are but a year or two younger than I. You too, are susceptible to this awful disease, or perhaps someone in your family. Does THAT drive it home for you?

Twitter is alight with #PeoplevsPelosi atm.
The people out here in America who don't have mansions and private jets and didn't have a lovely weekend at the country house don't see anything "rushed" about anything in Congress right now.
President Trump should inform the anti-American old bat that she needs to can the attitude and get the lead out.

My concern is whatever "package" they come up with will be loaded with goodies for politicians running for re-election, governors, leftist causes/organizations and the donor class completely bypassing or handing a mere pittance to the little guy: every day Americans and small American businesses directly affected by the loss of a job or business income due to a state or national COVID-19 shelter in-place mandate.
1) Every American citizen who had to file a state unemployment claim as a result of the national or state shelter-in-place mandates should receive direct cash assistance. The unemployment records themselves will provide the necessary info. There should be a cut-off date for assistance.
2) Every American small business from which unemployment claims were filed should be helped with cash assistance or tax credits tied directly to the number of people they had to lay off during that period and provable business losses. This should also be applied to businesses with significant $$ COVID-19 related losses who generously kept their employees on the payroll. There should be a cut-off date for assistance.
3) No company employing 300 or more people or with a presence on any major stock exchange should receive cash assistance including the airlines, insurance companies, national hospitality or retail chains etc. They should have the reserves to weather a storm. For them, some type of tax offset/credit and it must be tied directly to the number of people they had to lay off during that period. There should be a cut-off date for assistance.
4) Legislation should also include tax incentives for pharmaceutical companies and other manufacturers of health-related products to bring the production of these goods back home from China to the United States. After their bold threat to withhold raw materials and supplies of important medications, we cannot afford to be held hostage any longer. There should be a 10 yr period (or long enough for them to ramp up/offset costs/become profitable) cut-off date for the tax benefits and a penalty for companies that stubbornly refuse to do so.
5) Legislation authorizing the US government to sue the communist Chinese government for damages and reparations. They must be held accountable for the damage done to our economy. Until now there has been no penalty for their secretive and destructive political behaviour. If the world is not tired of being assaulted with deadly diseases emanating from their country, we should be. Enough.
6) The President should hold off on signing any deficit-increasing trillion dollar legislation until he is sure it is necessary then, read and respectfully refuse to sign any bill with pork, cash assistance, laws or sneak/covert provisions that do not directly benefit the American people affected by COVID-19.

Rush Limbaugh was spot on when he observed that this business of Republicans seeking to "work across the aisle," and being able to "compromise" is bunk--it's always the Republicans who compromise and relinquish their objectives, goals, and ideals--never the democrats.
