LIMA: China hit out on Monday at Peru's Nobel literature laureate Mario Vargas Llosa for allegedly expressing "irresponsible and prejudiced opinions" over the origins of the coronavirus pandemic. The writer penned an article for Spain's El Pais newspaper and La Republica in Peru in which he said the coronavirus outbreak would have played out differently if China was a democracy. "No-one seems to be remarking that none of this could have happened in the world if popular China was a free country and democratic rather than a dictatorship," said the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature winner. That brought a furious rebuke from the one-party state that has been widely criticised by rights groups

Vargas Llosa specializes in exposing communists. Hugo Chavez didn't like him, either. Chicom rage is a badge of honor I am sure he values more than his Nobel prize.

The ChiComs especially hate the truth being told about them. Evil dictators, and killing a few thousand doesn't bother them in the slightest.

China's continuous whining and complaining about the "irresponsible and prejudiced opinions" regarding the origins of the Chinese Virus is nothing but food being fed to the idiotic media. China knows the leftwing, Trump-hating so-called ''media'' in America will run themselves crazy screaming about RACISSSSM and whatever other ism's and phobia's they can think of. Amazing what the stinking media will do to destroy Trump and this country.

How easily everyone forgets - - how American communist traitors undermined the pro-western Chiang Kai-Shek government - - causing the rise to power of the brutally murderous Mao regime. Why aren't those commie traitors - - and their modern descendants - - being held to account for the deaths of tens of million innocents - - and the enslavement of hundreds of million more? When are the brain-dead Pubbies going to wake up - - and educate the American public about history's truths?

I like Llosa and honor his work. If his award was in something related to biology, infectious disease, or anything close, it would mean more that his opinion is being dismissed. But awards in literature don't increase the credibility of his armchair epidemiological analysis. Any more than an Oscar makes one a foreign policy expert.

Jeff Sessions, President Trump's former Attorney General, who went out with rancor from Trump for opening the gates to the Mueller investigation and impeachment, is now running for his old Senate seat in Alabama. President Trump has endorsed his GOP rival. Sessions, with admirable restraint, has stated over and over that he nevertheless supports Trump and his agenda -- which is perfectly credible, given that he was Trump's earliest high-profile supporter. All the same, it's pretty impressive, given Trump's refusal to forgive.

Political tectonic plates are shifting as progs like Ilhan Omar start praising Trump’s crisis management (and as his polls rise) At first, the growing wave of praise for President Trump’s handling of the Coronavirus catastrophe seemed like pigs flying, an unexpected and rare event. But now that the governors of deep blue California and New York have been joined by Ilhan Omar in admiring his handling of the crisis, we can see that forces far larger than individuals going rogue from Trump Derangement Syndrome are at work. TDS is being swamped by the reality of an existential crisis.

For decades and decades, politicians who propose and promote big government have done all they could to wean Americans off the convenience and freedom of cars and pack them like sardines into subways and buses, so they may travel to and from work in communal harmony. As George Will has written, “the real reason for progressives’ passion for trains is their goal of diminishing Americans’ individualism in order to make them more amenable to collectivism.” Will added, “Automobiles encourage people to think they – unsupervised, untutored, and unscripted – are masters of their fates. The automobile encourages people in delusions of adequacy,

The evidence of China’s deliberate cover-up of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan is a matter of public record. In suppressing information about the virus, doing little to contain it, and allowing it to spread unchecked in the crucial early days and weeks, the regime imperiled not only its own country and its own citizens but also the more than 100 nations now facing their own potentially devastating outbreaks. More perniciously, the Chinese government censored and detained those brave doctors and whistleblowers who attempted to sound the alarm and warn their fellow citizens when they understood the gravity of what was to come.

If one didn’t know better, he could think that China unleashed the Wuhan virus upon the world purposely to get their man, Joe Biden, elected president. Jumblin’ Joe is their man, too. It’s not just that the disease will assuredly cause economic distress as people’s lives and commerce are disrupted; it’s not just that no matter what President Trump does, the EneMedia will portray his response to the disease as lacking. (Never mind that Barack Obama apparently spread disease throughout our nation by shipping sick illegal-alien minors throughout the country. Enterovirus D68, anyone?) It’s also that the Wuhan virus has now become a handy excuse to limit debates

Along with Bill Kristol, Jennifer Rubin, Max Boot, and other once-respected intellectuals, we now see the same anti-Trump lunacy infecting Atlantic Monthly writer Anne Applebaum, whose self-important loathing for Trump has descended into outright anti-Americanism. In her case, the transmission vehicle is the coronavirus. First, she wrote a badly reasoned Atlantic Monthly piece claiming American had finally gotten its comeuppance in the coronavirus pandemic just as the Japanese got theirs before the Meiji Restoration, realizing how far behind they really were (really?). "Calls America's bluff," as she put it, implying our entire nation was some kind of con ... Then, she put out this ridiculous tweet:

We’ve shut down major parts of our economy, ranging from stores and restaurants to concert venues and bars. Schools have closed. Transportation is at a near standstill. Now, some even want to close the stock market. The question is, why? Of course, the answer to that is the threat of COVID-19, also known as the Wuhan Flu. It’s a nasty bug. But in truth, we don’t know how nasty it will be here. So far, there’s little in the way of macro-data for our outbreak. Problems in Iran and Italy, where the coronavirus has wreaked havoc, have been repeatedly highlighted by the media, but they aren’t parallels for the U.S.

China's CGTN, or China Global Television Network, is pretty much the RT News of China. It's the state propaganda and disinformation operation most aggressively active, and watched, by spies, of any nation that pays attention to China. Last February 2019, it was forced to register as a foreign agent. So what weird stuff it is to read that one of its reporters has been caught at the White House gate with a high fever, which is a symptom of the highly contagious coronavirus. The fever was in the 100-degree range. You'd know if you had such a fever. Yet the person was clamoring to get into a closed-quarters press briefing

The debate over the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus (COVID-19) is remarkably devoid of hard data comparisons. With President Trump’s decision on Wednesday to expand travel restrictions to the European Union, it is time to evaluate the very different approaches to travel restrictions that the U.S. and the E.U. have taken. The end of January seems long ago. Until January 30th, the World Health Organization (WHO) explicitly declined to classify the coronavirus (COVID-19) as a global emergency. It urged countries not to restrict travel or trade. The WHO announcement on travel was partially in response to the U.S. government’s January 27th recommendation that Americans “avoid all non-essential travel to China.”
