Vice President Mike Pence, often caricatured as the White House Yes Man, is doing many of the things critics wish President Trump would do.
The big picture: He's a daily, consistent presence on the airwaves. He provides useful info rather than random digressions. He leans on health and medical experts — both at public events and behind the scenes when he's chairing the White House Coronavirus Task Force.
Pence, 60, a likely contender for the Republican nomination in 2024, has become one of the most praised administration officials during the virus crisis:

I do believe VP Pence has done a really good job. It is a vipers nest out there and if he can stand up to media and democrats he will do well. After the President’s re-election, hopefully there will be time enough to drain the swamp and put the country on solid footing. If not, we are going to need someone who is a warrior and will continue the fight. We have seen what the despicable media/democrat party is capable of and we are going to need someone prepared and willing with enough steely determination to continue the fight. The most important thing is the President’s re-election. It is imperative that he win. Losing is not an option. Pence cannot be the weak link and I believe he knows it. It’s time for everyone to step up their game.

Pence has proven his character, ability, and demeanor are presidential. I would have no problem supporting him. I would like for the 2024 ticket to match him with a genuine conservative woman--but not the attention-grabbing, self-promoting governor of South Carolina.

The problem with Pence is that he will generate absolutely no excitement. People these days are not looking for competence in a president. Look at the Dem candidates! One is clearly in mental decline and the other admits he had no idea what his programs will cost.
Pence cannot start to generate the wild enthusiasm that Trump does so I cannot envision any scenario of him being president.

Pence is the perfect compliment to president Trump as VP. He can speak off the cuff with ease and is 100% reliable and trustworthy. I don't see him running in 2024. Why would he want to? However, I do see him doing something that involves his strong Christian values.

While the Left runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off. VP Pence exudes such a calming demeanor while speaking and putting facts and info before the citizens. And he's the perfect Administrator for directing the many agencies involved to stay on target.

VP Pence has risen to the occasion well. He has what it takes to move up in 2024.

Why are people so surprised at the presence of common sense? Mike Pence is a winner and I look forward to him running in 2024 after DJT's second term. The left would love to find something on which to criticize him but he does not give them any ammunition.
Who knew that Facebook would have been farsighted enough to begin the campaign of minimal social interaction? Everybody under the age of 40 has nothing but a cell phone for companionship these days.

Pence/Don Jr. for '24 to '32. It will be necessary for the MAGA movement to not only survive but thrive, to have a continuing connection to Trump. For fifty years the Left has won by 'Palinizing' any upcoming Republican that was a meaningful threat . To the point Republicans didn't want to risk their personal lives and families any more. Trump broke the mold. That is one big reason they hate him and want him out at any cost.

Vice President Mike Pence is doing a masterful job of leading this task force. His press conferences have been exceptionally well done, and he is showing what he is capable of doing. I am very, very impressed with him.
That our opposition over at Axios thinks the same thing is fine with me...

Re #4, Sara Carter? Seriously? I would go for Marsha Blackburn or any number of others. Carter wouldn’t even cross my mind.

Vision: Trump wins landslide; Pubbies keep Senate; take House. 2nd Term, Trump tames bureaucracy, drains Swamp; assigns Pence to shepard Convention of States (which he supported as Gov of IN) to defang DC UniParty and restore power of States. Repeal 17th Amendment (bringing Senators back under control of respective states), establish anti-bailout bill to restrict Federal subsidies to (primarily Blue) insolvent states absent corrective fiscal controls (i.e. Federal Bankruptcy Judge). 2020 options include Pence, Pompeo, Hailey - and the young-uns.

It's nice to see Pence emerge from the background. The guy seems very solid, and very decent. Maybe a little boring, but his boss provides enough excitement for now. I can see him in 2024 if the country is yearning for a no-drama presidency; but the trouble with that is that the media will provide its own drama.

Yep. Pence has been a decent VP for Trump, a good and calm personality vs Trump's more outgoing personality. I definitely do not want Haley anywhere near the WH. Not after all the neverTrump stuff she has done. Then there is her record as governor, tearing down historical bits of the state's history. I consider her still too much of an immigrant even though she was born here. She just doesn't get what it means to BE American. No such thing as magic dirt. Being American means assimilation, and comes from the heart.

In another era, Mike Pence would be the ideal president. He is highly competent, dignified, honorable and yes, presidential. Unfortunately, the political climate is such that those qualities aren't enough. This is war, and people want a political warrior who can stick it to the other side. Mike Pence is too much of a Christian gentleman to fight dirty, so I doubt that he could win. What a sad commentary on the state of the union.

Trump as done very well, too, but it is categorically impossible for many to EVER give him credit.....so they give Pence a bit of credit.
TDS is a serious mental disorder.

I agree with #16. Pence is a very capable, Christian leader but we will need someone like PDJT who can take names and kick butt. I don't think he will have the swamp cleaned out by then.
