It's good to be a socialist, if you're a party member, not one of the peons paying for the whole thing.
(Snip) He hates the cramped hassle of flying commercial, aides say, even if going private doesn’t entirely comport with his brand.
The list, distributed to aides in his entourage and shared with hotel employees, stipulates that his room must be kept at an arctic 60 degrees. That he needs an oscillating fan. Other wish lists have requested that written materials be removed. That the room must be at least five doors away from the ice machine and from the elevator, though the walk to the elevator must not be

That's how things worked in bernie's communist utopia USSR. If you were an apparatchik you were special, had good housing, wages, and perks, didn't have to use ration books. None of that stuff that the peasants and workers had to deal with.

No 4 has a typo. He meant “Grumps.” (But I digress)
I have always maintained Komrade has an anger issue. I have NEVER seen him smile.

I have no use at all for Bernie Sanders, but I heard him interviewed about these room requirements. He said he has always had trouble sleeping and a warm room and/or elevator and icemaker noise out in the hall make the problem worse. I can understand that and it doesn't sound like an excessive request.

I expect "written materials" specifically means the Gideon Bible, # 4. His hair starts to smoke if he gets within 20 feet of a Bible.

Bernie, it needs to be a bit cooler than 60 degrees to keep you from aging.

This particular atheist will be especially miserable in the future.
In hell, socialist leaders don't get treated special.
They don't get to dictate their accommodations or the temperature, travel is out of the question, and it will be crowded.

#5; I've observed that the further left a person is the more unhappy they seem to be. You're right; they never smile - unless they're getting a pizza delivery in the White House

If you have the 'power' to put room requirements into your rider, why not. As for room placement, If I could have been at least one room away from the ice machine and elevator I would have had a lot more restful nights! Worst one was Traverse City Mi, Holiday In.. Second floor, get this, OVER the BAR. Some how they hadn't gotten word that Disco is out. Worst night anywhere ever. :)

This article helped me to understand Bunny's promise of creating 20 million new jobs. He uses a human motion detector jiggler to keep the thermostat from reverting to the default position of 72 degrees. Back in the old days pcs used CRT displays and would automatically turn of the display if no activity was detected for a few minutes. With LCD or any other modern display it isn't necessary to protect the display device by turning it off. So mouse jigglers were invented that would move the pointer a few pixels every few seconds to keep the display on. Old people, of which I am now a card carrying member, have strange hangups. My grandfather couldn't sleep unless he was wearing a long sleeve dress shirt buttoned to the neck. And I can't sleep in a house with an ice maker. Have wondered why when Bunny talks about people sleeping in the street he doesn't invite a few dozen to sleep in his mansions. Heck, even the homeless wouldn't want to sleep in a house run by a cranky old geezer.

Ummm . . . some of you (like #7 and #15) seem to have missed the point entirely. It's not that Bern's "requests" are unreasonable--IN TODAY'S SOCIETY; it's that his requests in the socialist society he is pushing would be unavailable to 95% of Americans.
It's blatant hypocrisy--just like when he expects us to give up every comfort, every dollar, every THING, while he keeps his money, his comfort, his everything.
Yeah, it's great to be king (if you can get elected to it).

Barbra Streisand demanded rose petals (maybe pink ??) in the terlet bowl where ever she stayed. I'm sure there were other ridiculous requests but I only remember this one. It must be good to be king.

Frankly, this is all mild compared to Hillary Clinton and Barbara Streisand. The latter two are absolute lunatics when it comes to their "requirements", the staffs of both lovely ladies, are not permitted to look their mistress in the eye when passing in the hallway. Streisand contribution to society was her suggestion that hotels have a personal message table in every room. Clinton has to have a lectern of a particular height, specific chairs, a limousine of a certain length, specific types of bottled water some chilled, some at room temperature. Things and matters that never would occur to normal people are of the utmost importance to these spoiled adult brats (who have had too much money and too much adulation for far too long).
