Cruise Ship Carrying 3,500 Passengers
Headed to Georgia Military Base for
Coronavirus Testing, Quarantine

A Grand Princess cruise ship is headed to Georgia from California, where 32 Georgians and thousands of others on the boat will be transferred to Dobbin Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia, for coronavirus testing and quarantine as required. Local media reported on Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s statement: I have learned that thirty-four Georgians and additional American citizens from the eastern United States who are currently on the Grand Princess cruise ship off the California coast will be securely transferred to Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia. These passengers will undergo testing and be quarantined for possible exposure to COVID-19.

Comments:

At least they'll be off the ship. That ship is going to need to be completely disinfected from stem to stern before it will be able to take on any more passengers or they will face this problem again.

Unclear article and statement. No way a ship can sail to inland Dobbins AFB near Atlanta, and unlikely they would port in Georgia. My guess is it docks at a California naval port and passengers are flown there.

Live 5 miles from Dobbins. Not interested in exposure to some privileged character sliding off base and infecting nearby businesses.

My one and only cruise ship was from Italy to NYC, back in 1966. Stops all along the southern coast of Europe, quite nice, but I was young, and loved all the "free food" the most. Today, I think I would eat too much. Haven't really wanted to do another cruise, and this doesn't put me any more in a mood to do it.

Nancy Pelosi sat before a group of Northwestern University students on Monday morning and said, “Civilization as we know it is at stake.” No, she wasn’t talking about the coronavirus, she was talking about if President Trump wins the election. This is the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives explaining the constitution to young, impressionable minds. How did we get to the point where Democrats would send spies into their opponents political campaign, fabricate a scandal to prevent him from winning, and spend his entire first term trying to remove him from office? It was during the Bush Administration that Democrats, overcome by Bush Derangement Syndrome,

For some odd reason, as the number of cases of the Wuhan virus in America has grown, some Democratic politicians including failed presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren have bizarrely suggested the United States completely divert funding from the border wall to combat the virus. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why this is not just a bad idea. It’s a really, really stupid idea, too. Nevertheless, Democrats are so obsessed over border wall funding that emergency funding to fight the Wuhan virus was initially stalled as House Speaker Pelosi Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and other House Democratic leaders worked last month to make sure President Trump

Hysteria leads to idiocy, and now the mayor of a Texas city is scrambling. To say that the overreaction to the Wuhan virus in the press and with politicians has been overblown is to traffic in the obvious. As the media hysterics become louder more and more people are altering their social plans. This has been felt directly in the airlines and cruise line industries already, and there is a growing paranoia felt in local areas as well. The mayor of Austin Texas has sent out a plea for residents of his town to go on out and physically endorse area merchants, businesses and artists

President Donald Trump announced Monday evening that he will push Congress for a payroll tax cut to stem concerns about the coronavirus that sent the stock market into a spiral earlier in the day. Trump also pledged he would push for hourly wage earners to be able to take off work without fear of losing their jobs, as the number of related U.S. deaths rose to 26, all but four in Washington state. The president said he would give more details Tuesday after meeting with members of Congress. “We are going to be seeing the Senate and meeting with House Republicans and discussing possible payroll tax relief,”

The battle lines are still being drawn in the effort to save women’s and girls’ competitive sports in the United States and the fight has now moved on to Ohio. In the Buckeye State, legislators have introduced a new bill with the appropriate name of the Save Womens’ Sports Act. Much like similar legislation being debated around the country, this measure would bar boys who “identify” as girls from competing in girls’ sports for all of the usual and obvious reasons. This measure would apply to all public schools and colleges, as well as private schools and colleges that are members of a state or national athletic association.

In the spring of 2010, sixteen-year-old Kaleif Browder, an African-American resident of the Bronx, NY, was charged with robbery. He was accused of stealing a backpack. His family could not afford bail, so he was sent to Rikers Island Prison, where he remained for three years. Two of those years were spent in solitary confinement. During that time, he was not “tried or convicted of a crime.” Following his release, Browder committed suicide. Browder’s story is tragic. That such a thing could have happened is a disgrace. Clearly, action needed to be taken to make sure this never happened again.

A former adviser to President Bill Clinton said he’s concerned about 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s mental acuity. Dick Morris, who was Clinton’s political adviser and later campaign manager, argued that the former vice president’s memory lapses make President Trump’s reelection more likely. “I don’t think that Biden has much of a chance of defeating Trump. I think that Biden is a very fragile candidate,” Morris told radio show host John Catsimatidis on Sunday. “He has risen from the dead, but the ashes still remain. I think he’s incredibly vulnerable on the Hunter Biden issue. I think his gaffes raise serious questions about his mental ability.”

Until last Sunday, Joe Biden was just a doddering old pol with his best days behind him, unimpressive in every presidential debate and certainly nothing special on the stump. His performance in the first three presidential contests was embarrassing, and, to make matters worse, Biden was showing clear signs of mental decline, such as false memories (in fairness, it could just be dishonesty) and bizarre delusions. After Super Tuesday, Biden is still the exact same guy described above, but he’s also the Democrats’ new front-runner. Biden, whose primary campaign was on the way out, suddenly finds himself in a marriage of convenience with Democratic voters,

Some people on the left have been pushing the false claim that Trump called the Coronavirus a hoax. MSNBC’s Joy Reid just took that concept to a new level by suggesting the children of Trump supporters are a threat to other people’s kids. Obviously, if Trump thinks Coronavirus is a hoax (he doesn’t) and his supporters follow his every word (they don’t) then it follows in Joy’s mind that the children of these people are dangerous. How is it that Chris Matthews is out of a job, but Joy Reid remains on the air? Mark Finkelstein reports at Newsbusters: President Trump has not called coronavirus a hoax.

But nothing stops the VP speculation. There’s an added twist this year, which is the widespread expectation—and, in some quarters, demand—that the Democratic running mate will be a woman.
