Chuck Schumer: I Didn’t Threaten Justices
but Used the Wrong Words

Original Article

Posted By: ladydawgfan, 3/6/2020 3:50:44 AM

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Thursday offered a defiant non-apology for threatening Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, conceding that he “shouldn’t have used the words I did” while making excuses for the statement and claiming Republicans were “manufacturing outrage” over it. “Of course I didn’t intend to suggest anything other than political and public opinion consequences for the Supreme Court, and it is a gross distortion to imply otherwise. I’m from Brooklyn. We speak in strong language,” Schumer said in a Senate floor speech. “I shouldn’t have used the words I did, but in no way was I making a threat.

Comments:

Weasel words, Schmuckie!! And if President Trump or Mitch McConnell had said this about RBG or the Wide Latina, you would be leapfrogging your fellow leftists to get to the CNN cameras to declare your outrage and demand investigations and resignations!! Hypocritical weasel!!

It is not always the words; it's the emotion behind them. I saw and heard the video. He could have been saying, "I'm having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch", and you'd feel the anger behind the words.

"I’m from Brooklyn. We speak in strong language” That excerpt speaks volumes. Chuck Schumer gives leniency to himself but in the case of Donald Trump, he is racist, sexist or whatever "ist" applies.

Schumer’s remarks prompted a rare rebuke by Supreme Court Justice John Roberts, who called the New York Democrats’ threat both “inappropriate” and “dangerous.” Well said, Justice Roberts. Now, Senate GOP, at least Censure him. KAG

Let’s be clear. Schumer knew what he was saying. He is not dumb. He knew where he was, on the steps of the Supreme Court, no less. His motivation appears to have been to stir up the murderous mob before him with a statement he knew would have the desired effect. This was no accident. No slip of the tongue. It was deliberate and provocative and illegal. He mentioned two Justices by name. He was playing to the crowd but in his zeal crossed a line. For that reason, this cannot be ignored. He must be held accountable for what he said regardless of what he said his motivation was. It was no slip of the tongue. It was a threat. Had a Republican issued the same against two Justices, he would be leading the charge and screaming the loudest. We all know he would be the most outraged. We have seen what happens in Washington when democrats commit some kind of egregious behavior. Absolutely nothing. They are permitted to come out and play the victim and accuse others of overreacting for partisan reasons. Time after time democrats skate. Nothing they do or say has any consequences. This has to stop. Schumer cannot be allowed to walk away after giving such a pathetic excuse. He must be held accountable. He should be forced to resign as Minority Leader. No leader should be allowed to remain in that office and make this kind of statement. He knows better. In the past democrats know they suffer no consequences when they boldly attack Republicans. This time it was different. He crossed the line, this was a dangerous outburst. What he did was unlawful. You cannot threaten a Justice of the Supreme Court on the steps of the Supreme Court Building. Words matter. The Minority Leader’s words bear the weight of his office and years of experience. My choice is that he would be forced to resign but I know that will not happen. He therefore, needs to be made an example. He must pay dearly for this breach. If this just all goes away, the democrats will know, once again, that they are immune and able to spew their dangerous rhetoric unimpeded. Grow a backbone Senators. If you want protect the vaunted reputation you all so desperately cling to, censure this man, remove him from his leadership role, and make an example of him to show the world that there are real and important consequences when someone threatens a Supreme Court Justice. Do not let this snake slither away.

So, this is what its like to watch your enemies fall into their own traps. I like it! President Trump has the uncanny ability (God given talent) to force misanthropes to drop their masks. Compare and contrast the mood and demeanor of the crowd at the March for Life and the uplifting and inspiring speech given by our President, to the abortion-loving rabble that aroused Schumer. They reminded me of the pigs into whom Christ cast demons and ran over the edge of a cliff. Senator Schumer should be removed from the Senate, but since that won't happen he cannot be permitted to continue as Minority Leader. I'd call/email my Senators but its a waste of time. I'm white so my email will go to spam in Kamala Sutra's office, and I'm not even sure if DiFi is still alive. Any sightings lately? The democrat party is the party of the absurd. Their very existence depends on the rejection of common sense, the obvious, and most of all, the lessons history. It should come as no surprise when we are told we didn't hear what we heard, or that wee are too unsophisticated to grasp his true meaning and that while specifically naming two justices he was really speaking about other people. An Obama-appointed federal judge blocked a Trump administration rule that would have tightened work requirements for food stamps, citing the coronavirus pandemic as the reason she made her decision. D.C. District Court Chief Judge Beryl A. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio advocated for nationalizing certain industries to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus. While appearing on MSNBC's AM Joy, host Joy Reid asked de Blasio how someone in New York City should go about getting tested during the growing COVID-19 pandemic. "People can get tested according to a priority structure, and it's not enough testing. It's just as simple as that," de Blasio said, later claiming that the city has been "pleading" with the federal government for additional testing. "Here's the reality. This is a war-like situation. We're in a wartime scenario with a 'Mar-a-Lago attitude' being used by the federal government, right?"

In October 2014, Ezekiel Emanuel published an essay in the Atlantic called “Why I Hope to Die at 75.” Because Emanuel is a medical doctor and chair of the University of Pennsylvania’s department of medical ethics and health policy, as well as a chief architect of Obamacare, the article stirred enormous controversy.Emanuel vowed to refuse not only heroic medical interventions once he turned 75, but also antibiotics and vaccinations. His argument: older Americans live too long in a diminished state, raising the question of, as he put it, “whether our consumption is worth our contribution.” (Snip)If you look at really smart people, there aren’t that many writing brand-new books
The Wuhan Virus Escaped from a Chinese Lab 43 replies

First of all, Wuhan is a place and not a race, and to identify the coronavirus by its place of origin, like naming the Ebola Virus for a river in Zaire, is not racist or xenophobic — it's merely accurate. There is no racism or xenophobia in labeling an infection "Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever" or calling something "Lyme Disease" after a nearby town in Ohio. What calling this latest virus the Wuhan Virus is is a reminder of the multiple contagions China has spawned and released on an unsuspecting world.

Never let it be said that Bernie Sanders isn't doing his level best to spread fear and panic across America. At a doom-and-gloom press conference today, Sanders pleaded with Trump to pay for everyone to be tested for COVID-19, demanded paid leave for all, and generally transplanted his political agenda onto the coronavirus response that the U.S. should make. How convenient. But most of all, Sanders is telling Americans that they are in grave danger because the president has fallen down on the job. And the ultimate cost of Trump's incompetence will be hundreds of thousands of dead.

In retrospect, Florida dodged a bullet. Andrew Gillum, the corruption-tinged left-wing mayor of Tallahassee, who less than two years ago darn near got elected goveror of Florida, based on a glowing 'making history' press narrative, has been caught naked, in a hotel room with a gay "escort," barfing over a toilet, and too inchoate to answer questions from cops, who were called in to hose out a $220 a night Miami hotel room of meth baggies. The self-described porn star in the room had a profile on "Rent Men" and being that he was with Gillum and another guy, naked, was in what cops reportedly suspected was a orgy.

This makes the second week that I have been unable to purchase toilet paper. At first, I was mind-boggled that anyone thought it was necessary to buy every roll in sight, then that so many people think it is essential to buy out the shelves. I try to keep around enough reserves that I don't need to worry if I can't buy for two weeks, but yes, I'm running out. I understand that people fear being in quarantine for two weeks or a month over WuFlu fears, and wanting their personal supply to last. That weighs on their minds — not the alleged lethality of the current coronavirus,

President Donald Trump has tested negative for the coronavirus, the White House announced on Saturday evening. “Last night after an in-depth discussion with the President regarding COVID-19 testing, he elected to proceed. This evening I received confirmation that the test is negative,” White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a statement released via White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham. “One week after having dinner with the Brazilian delegation in Mar-a-Lago, the President remains symptom-free. I have been in daily contact with the CDC and White House Coronavirus Task Force, and we are encouraging implementation of all their best practices for exposure reduction and transmission mitigation.”

On Sunday evening, the remaining candidates with a real shot at the Democratic nomination will meet in Washington amid a pandemic to state why they should be chosen to lead the nation. In many ways, the debate will vary from all others held since last summer. Instead of a large and diverse field of candidates, only two old, white men remain. And instead of testing their styles and one-liners in front of a crowd, this meeting will lack an audience. With so much stripped away, the candidates will either shine or fail. At this moment, it seems that the nomination is former Vice President Joe Biden's to lose.

This follow-up to my March 12 coronavirus piece comes with the same important caveats, important enough that I’m stating them up front: I’m not here to alarm anyone, and I am not here to scoff. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I do know what our experts are saying, and this is me reporting what the experts are saying. Andrew Slavitt, Barack Obama’s former acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is quoting experts who say more than one million Americans are already doomed because the “virus was not contained.”

Tom Hanks thanked his carers at the Gold Coast University Hospital on Sunday, where he and wife Rita Wilson are being treated for coronavirus. But the 63-year-old actor's Twitter post grabbed the attention of fans for all the wrong reasons - namely the very thick spread of Vegemite Tom applied to his toast. In the photo accompanying his tribute, the Forrest Gump actor showcased his breakfast, featuring a tube of Vegemite, with a kangaroo toy nearby.

The Bernie Bros are vowing revenge. As the presidential campaign of Sen. Andrew Gillum's carefully cultivated image as a rising political star and God-fearing family man came crashing down after he was found in a Miami Beach hotel room with two men and baggies of suspected meth. The former Tallahassee, Fla., mayor was in Tallahassee on Monday to energize college voters at Florida State and Florida A&M University, where his political ambitions were born. But four days later, his well-publicized effort to register a million voters ahead of Election Day was in major doubt, along with his once-promising political career. After the news broke, the normally visible Gillum shrunk from public view
