On January 20, 2020, the nation turned towards Virginia as a massive Second Amendment rally took place in Richmond. Why did this “Right to Bear Arms” rally occur? Because Virginians were afraid of an aggressive legislative agenda aimed at gun ownership in a historically pro–Second Amendment state. The gun grab legislation that fueled the pushback was proposed on January 10, when House Bill 961 passed with a 51-48 vote. This dubious legislation, in short, would have prohibited the sale, transportation, and transferring of newly defined “assault firearms.” The ill-fated bill also would have banned magazines with a capacity of 12 or more rounds, suppressors, and other elements —

Remember the good old days when we obeyed the law because it was the law? We had respect for it and the ones that affected us most made a certain amount of sense. Since the 60's though, the communists have infiltrated the government and have passed law after law that are unconstitutional and just plain odious. They restrict the behavior of business owners, gun owners, land owners, and pretty much everyone else, and charges us money for our enslavement. The law is no longer worthy of the respect our parents taught us. It should be ignored at every opportunity. As for me, if my activities are not directly harming anyone else, leave me alone and we'll both get home safe and happy.

It's unfortunate that our law makers in government are continually elected. They make laws that we can't respect, because we don't respect them either. The law makers are elected by people who were not raised with guns and have been conditioned to fear them (and people who own them!) Many of those people who get the law makers elected live in, are from, the big urban areas. The big money for law maker's election campaigns come from those wealthy people. The urban area adjacent to Washington D.C. is densely populated, to the point that those voters can overcome the rest of the state. Part of the problem is that most of those near Washington are not native Virginians, and tend to be liberal- since they depend on the government teat. People who believe in upholding the Constitution, but are over whelmed in the voting booth, don't have many options available. Go broke, trying to overcome the law makers, or resist unconstitutional laws as they see fit.

Eventually, there must be a point where Virginians realize that they may have to use their 2nd amendment rights to protect ALL of their rights, including their right to bear arms..

Two things for those who did not get past the headline. One) The Bill did not pass. Two) The Right to Bear Arms rally is a yearly event, not one ginned up to protest this one bill. I am not passing judgement on those who are on this site, but am always irked by misleading Headline writers.

New Mexico is the bluest of blue states and the Nazi Governess was watching this intently. This democrat controlled state is leaning toward seeing the success of Virginia to make a move on gun owner citizens. The Red Flag Law is up to be signed. You know the stinker law where an ex-wife or ex-girlfriend can't declare you an unstable gun owner and your firearms can be taken away just for spite. On the subject of seimi-automatic in the early days of the magazine fed firearms be it rifle, shotgun or handgun these were just referred to as 'autoloaders'. Today if something doesn't sound evil and intimidating enough the left applies new nomenclature to it. Do you think AK-47 automatic would draw as much attention if it were Purple Clover Rifle? Of course not it has to have a horrible evil sounding name when it strikes the headlines so the left has to create one.

Virginia Liberal Progressives in the General Assembly will soon enact two unconstitutional gun laws. The Red Flag law will allow unsubstantiated charges to allow seizure of guns and property in violation of the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. A preemption law will allow counties and towns to enact legislation to outlaw guns and magazines in violation of the 2nd Amendment. Counties will enact what failed, for now, in the General Assembly. #3 is right. Stalinist Progressives enact laws to make criminals of their political opponents. Just like it worked so well in the old USSR. Millions of dollars from Bloomberg, Soros, Steyer turned my beloved state from free to oppressive. How sad. I must now join a small exodus from Northern Virginia to West Virginia which is still free. Thank God.

#2, excellent sentiment, but the correct term is Molon Labe. It was uttered by Leonidas, leader of the Spartans, with 300 men, at the Battle of Thermopylae, where they held off about 90,000 Persians. When Xerxes, King of the Persians, sent a message to the Spartans to "throw down their arms" because they were so massively outnumbered, Leonidas said, what is directly translated as "Come, take" - or more fluently translated as "Come and take them". We know of several other defiant things that Leonidas said that day, an amazing thing after 3,000 years. But a great sentiment. "Come and take them". Molon Labe

Bernie Sanders‘ hard-left sympathies just keep bubbling up like an overheated pot of red stew. He announced this past week his $1.5 trillion plan for “universal” free child care. Even the “rich” would qualify for it. Would stay-at-home parents get any help? You are such a foolish child. The Vermont socialist’s plan goes beyond even Elizabeth Warren’s and Pete Buttigieg’s means-tested schemes, which would allegedly cost taxpayers “only” $700 billion. Speaking of Mayor Pete, he welcomed a 9-year-old boy on stage to “come out” and identify as homosexual. Not every Marxist assault on our way of life involves tax-and-spend economics.

Bernie Sanders just lost his first primary of 2020. He’ll lose a few more on Tuesday. But as of now, in terms of delegates and polling alike, Bernie Sanders remains the Democratic front-runner. And Joe Biden has wound up, ironically, not as the frontrunner but as the ‘Stop Bernie!’ candidate. South Carolina was Biden’s first primary win in any of the presidential races he’s ever run, which stretch back to 1988. He’s had his eye on the White House for a very long time, and voters have consistently found other Democrats more compelling — other Democrats like Michael Dukakis, not just other Democrats like Barack Obama.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg explained in an interview with “60 Minutes” why he believes America will choose him over President Donald Trump this fall by characterizing those who swept Trump into office as mounting a “revolution” against the educated elite. “A few years ago there was a revolution against the intelligentsia,” Bloomberg told CBS’ Scott Pelley. “People said, ‘you know, those people, particularly on the coasts, are trying to tell us what to do.’ They wanted a change. That explains Donald Trump. Now, people seem to have changed. This cycle, people want stability.”

This morning, with all but a handful of precincts reporting, it became clear that Joe Biden had a very good night in South Carolina. In fact, he appears to have overperformed against even the most optimistic polls, coming in dangerously close to the 50% mark. Bernie Sanders, by contrast, underperformed a bit, registering just shy of 20%, but that will be more than enough to ensure he grabs some delegates on his way out the door. So congratulations are in order for Uncle Joe. Well done. With that out of the way, the difference in the media coverage of the Democratic primary between this morning

A federal judge ruled Sunday that one of the Trump administration's top immigration officials, Ken Cuccinelli, was unlawfully appointed to his post because of a decades-old law on federal vacancies. U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss ruled that Cuccinelli's appointment as the acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) circumvented a law that said a senior government position could be filled only if the Senate first approved the individual. It was not immediately clear what impact this would have on Cuccinelli's tenure, if any.

Heading into South Carolina, it appeared that Democrats were taking the express train to socialism. Sen. Bernie Sanders arguably won the chaotic Iowa caucuses, then went on to a solid victory in New Hampshire, and a crushing triumph in Nevada. As the race went toward the Palmetto State, there was talk that Sanders might be able to deliver a “kill shot.” Instead, Joe Biden revived his candidacy with a dominant win, fueled by black voters who tend to be more pragmatic than the pro-revolution wing of the party. A day after winning Nevada, 60 Minutes aired an interview with Sanders in which he dug in on his decades of defenses

The South Carolina primary has been called for Joe Biden. This isn’t a surprise. South Carolina, with its large number of black voters, has always been seen as Biden’s firewall, but early returns suggest that his margin may be impressive. Bernie Sanders apparently is finishing second. Possibly the most important fact about today’s vote is that none of the Sanders/Biden alternatives showed any perceptible strength. Michael Bloomberg didn’t participate. There has never been a moment during the campaign when I have taken Biden seriously as a candidate for the Democratic nomination, let alone the presidency. Despite today’s win, his decrepitude seems to be accelerating. No doubt you have seen reports

Whenever Bernie Sanders’s socialism comes up in the Democratic debates, he deflects criticism by saying he favors something along the lines of Denmark’s model. Sanders’s debate rivals almost invariably let this answer pass. (I think Pete Buttigieg tried to take it on in the last debate but couldn’t get the floor.) In reality, the policies Sanders advocates bear little resemblance to those of Denmark and other Scandinavian countries today. They do resemble many of the policies these countries tried 50 years ago. However, these policies failed and were discarded. The Vermont socialist is getting away with false advertising, including bait and switch.
